Wow, thanks for that comprehensive run-through. I’ve seen reviews and even other play throughs of this game that were a bit confusing. Your explanation is very clear. I just picked up this game and I’m eager to play. Thank you!
Thank you SO much for this how-to-play! I know this is a great classic game, but the instructions are possible the worst I've ever read (especially for such a simple game!). Your video shows the game in its best light and made it so I could actually play it!!
Thanks for the playthrough. Played last night for the first time and losses super quick. I misunderstood how paying to get the bad cards out worked so this was super helpful for future playthroughs!
Great video, but I have a question: In the Rulebook (pg. 6) it mentions “For the life points you pay in this manner you can destroy face up fighting cards.” I interpreted that as you can destroy cards to use as payment for the missing fight value.
I've yet to pull the trigger on this, but I have played it on Tabletop Simulator. Obviously the real thing is best. One of these days I'll finally get it. I do love my masochism, after all.
It's been a few months, I hope you found a winning strategy. If not, I have a few tips! For anyone else reading this, it's best to play the game a few times first without reading any tips. 1. Think if cards in terms of net gains. 0 attack and +2 health may seem weak, but it nets you 2 health, 1 health and 1 draw, or 2 draws. That's a net gain of 1 health/draw at zero cost! 2. Health is a resource, don't be afraid to sacrifice health in order to improve Robinson! In fact, you should focus on purging bad habits as much as possible before running through your deck the first time! You'll lose a lot of health very fast, but it's best to lose it early so you can create a more optimized deck. 3. Early in the game, primarily when you're first purging your cards, try to purge the same number of cards as the amount of health lost. If you lose 3 health but only have 2 cards you want to purge, 1 health was wasted. Of course, you'll often have no choice but to waste health - thats just the nature of the game! 4. Avoid harder events during the green phase when possible. Difficult events require you to draw more cards, which results in you burning through your deck more quickly. Burning through your deck too quickly early on results in you drawing more aging cards, which are much more difficult to handle early game! Save the difficult events for the yellow and red phases! Hopefully these tips help anyone who stumbles upon this video and hasn't had any success beating the game on lvl 1.
Hi Liz, good video! I really enjoy this game. Can you recommend a good intermediate game to someone fairly new to gaming to play solo after Friday? Ideally something which offers a challenge with strategy / puzzles and also replayability and perhaps a longer / more in depth experience. Many Thanks in advance!
Years later watching the same refresher before I play. Thanks!
This makes me very happy. :)

I completely agree!
At 11:46 why does it cost you 6 life points?
edit...Oh, nevermmind, it's because you had -2 and you needed 4 to win, and the difference is 6...right?

I'm so glad when I find reviews done by you, you're one of the best.
Thank you so much!
Great explanation of the gameplay. I just got this and your video helped to clarify the instructions. Looking forward to giving it a try.
Good tutorial thanks
I own this and haven’t played it in a long time. I don’t I’ve ever made it past the yellow stage. It’s tough!
Liz, I love your videos. You make me happy. Thanks. ☺️
Best tutorial (short and comprehensive) around. Thanks 👍🏼
Glad it was helpful!
Helpful, but there's still a lot I am fuzzy on. Never played anything like this before. Wish it was start to finish.

Won at first attempt at all difficulty. Enjoyed it. Thank you for your recommendation. I'm also a MK veteran.
Really clear explanation. Thank you.

Going to try again. This can be discouraging.
I've owned this game for a while, but watching your video motivated me to actually go ahead and play it. Needless to say, I lost. But, it was fun!
Looking for a scan of the components and setup sheet. Was missing from my game.
This game is so brutal and hard to beat. I own it myself and have never won 😂
Been. There.
I've reached the second or third red phase card. I can't reach yellow phase without having been whittled down to 12 life points. 😭
Thanks! I played twice and lost but I got further the second time haha.

This one is definitely worth it!
The game is brutal. I’ve never even reached the pirates on level 1.

Love this game! Have you played Gate? Similar small deck-builder but in this case it's tower defense. That's one of my faves also.

Welcome To The Moon is a game I'm currently having a blast with 🚀
@@ouachealthwellbeingwithgra7292 Oh a new Welcome To! I’ve not seen this one but really like the first one! Thanks for the tip!
