Not even using only Dane axes will work with this, a good shield toss will do the job just as well.
I actually use half of these 😂. But also it’d be great to see more about fighting against these types of weapons, especially against really fast weapons that gamble well. Obviously you want to say out of their range, but maintaining that range is pretty hard against a good player
Been a warclub main since day 1, The Milkman has always been a inspiration to me (if you know who that is) Edit: I'd also like to point out that if I'm fighting someone with the warclub the weapon I use to counter it is the glaive if i didn't just use the warclub myself
Honestly rapier had been such a clutch for me in so many matches. The special skills is top tier when taking on multiple people. You can do your special and immediate flick your mouse to tag someone else who isn't paying attention. Plus no one expects how fast swing into overhead feint accels can be 😅 Fought a level 1000 dude who was literally ballerinaing with the weapon. Doing 180s and then 360' stabs 😅
Spear is not that bitchy, if you counter it’s attacks and use your legs to move around the spearman. I would put a heavy mace instead of spear. And I agree with the rest of the list
Ironically, i find 1vX EASIER with the spear since i no longer need to worry about the X blocking my whole attack plus people tend to suck at defending against stabs for some reason.
I used to play spears a lot, but yeah at some point spamming 2 different stabs again and again gets boring. It's easy to use but doesn't *feel* cool to use
NGL I think 2h spear is nowhere near the easiest or cheesiest weapon in this list. Any newb can pick up a longsword and do alright with it. They wont with a 2h spear. The counter window for weapons like longsword are so large that I can basically fall asleep and win a fight, because I have all day to counter anything that comes my way. Active Parry for days. With a spear, the timing is ridiculously small, and it just gets increasingly more difficult in a 1vX. Watching people like Stridah use spear on stream and him missing the counter windows over and over and getting teabagged by archers says a lot lol. Is it annoying AF to play against though? Yep, but I'd argue 1h spear is far more annoying and a class to itself. The counter timing on those things absolutely don't match the animations, and the turtling those players do is insanely annoying. At least against a 2h spear, you know they almost certainly have no stamina from jumping around, and they can't turtle.
I could see that. I say 2 hand spear because of the potential though. If you have come across recovering banker or step bow in a TO match they will go 70 - 0 and you won't even be able to touch them unless you target them hard. But it for sure has a steeper learning curve than the others on the list but once you learn the spear it is the top of the S tier weapons
@@Nuggz1 I'm just thinking out loud here, more than really arguing against you, but I think it's a good thought experiment. If you remove Banker and Step Bow from the equation, 2h Spear kinda loses some of the luster, right? I mean, I struggle to think anyone else among the general best players in the game ever playing spear anywhere near as effectively as those two. There are some good spear players, but they aren't the same. If I look at it from a devil's advocate point of view, is it still S tier without their influence? Like in a hypothetical, if they never played Chiv 2, would it be the same rating? A lot of us can play spear pretty well, but not on their level. I'd argue most people would rate other polearms higher, such as the Halberd. I think if you look at the Rapier in the same way, if Ziggylata never picked it up, would anyone else have classified it as a top weapon? Some players kind of defined a playstyle with these weapons that everyone else emulates, but if those originators never came along, I wonder if they'd ever be called anything more than niche. 1h Spear is still kind of in that category. Rapier still is too, for the most part, mainly because nobody else wants to learn it.
@JWP190 In a competitive format where everyone knows how to deal with spear its not so bad, it really is a weapon that crumbles when directly focused on by more than 1 person and it is a skillful weapon when it comes down to positioning and stamina management. I think I mainly put it on the list for the sheer third parting potential. If you're in a 2v1 and one of the guys is a spear user there is nothing you can do except try to get away or hope the guy who doesn't have a spear is the weak link and dies fast. That makes the spear very oppressive and when you die to it when there wasn't much counter play it feels bad. I also ran into step bow last week in a pub match and the mfer went 60 and 4. I killed him 3 times.
Im surprised to not see the glaive here. Its definitely a sleeper. It has a bad rep for being a poop weapon but goes insaneo style with overhead spamming.

I’m surprised with the spear. I thought the warclub was going to be THE cheesiest weapon in the game because of longer range and its faster speed compared to other two-handed blunt weapons. What I did when fighting against guys who use the spear is by counter thrusting its attacks (since it is a thrusting weapon) and then follow with either a faint or an attack.
But what would you do if the spear user only ever attacked you when they had 2 teammates with them? In that case they are impossible to play around, the perfect third party weapon.
@@Nuggz1 in the instance that the spear user had two teammates with them, then yes, they are nearly impossible to beat. But that situation can also happen with other players who use other weapons that are mentioned in the list. Basically, any 1vX is a very hard situation to win and that happens even without the spear. If we are strictly talking about the spear, and fighting the spear user in a 1v1, then that’s where the spear can fall apart.
