It does help but you can still duck attacks without looking down just fine. Just make sure you aren't blocking or attacking when ducking

@HighBoss forward duck to get lower to the ground, backward duck only lasts a second and is better for reactionary spacing.

Agreed, it's better than before but you can still sometimes hit a zombie from 5 meters away with a small weapon, makes it unrealistic. These are the chiv devs, melee needs to be flawless or what's the point

The most toxic way to play 1 handers

A little tip in dealing with low IQ team killers. Just ignore them and walk towards the battle. They will either lose interest or get taken care of by the enemy. Works for me every time.

Jabbing is an overpowered mechanic but take a lot of practice to master, also kinda hard to do on controller

They aren't balanced well, they aren't fun to win with and aren't fun to lose against. The only real use for an archer is just to kill other archers. You will never get more kills with archer than you could using melee, you are 100 percent of the time a detriment to your team and a waste of space. Cav, cata, ballista have multi kill and 1 shot potential and can wipe spawn waves.

Good points. I still think there's specific objectives and map points where skirmishers can be an asset (Bridges at Falmire and Lionspire with a full 64 players come to mind). At certain chokepoints I've had more success lobbing javelins over teammates into enemy lines as opposed to trying to fill in a frontline that's already completely saturated. But it's situational and becomes less of an asset outside of these very specific objective points, and I immediately switch off once the field opens up. But I suppose you could argue one could just use throwing knives for the same role, but then also be able to more effectively fill in the front line when a teammate goes down. Maybe I'm just looking for excuses because javelin headshots are just so damned satisfying and I like playing off-meta tactics.

@billybongos1337 a Vanguard with 2 Dane axes has more throwing dps than a skirmisher. Problem is that you are practically instantly dead as an archer the second someone approaches you, unless theyre terrible. The only time I would want an archer on my team is the 1 in a million chance they are going 40 and 0 with a bow. I've seen like 3 people do it
