Wow I totaly agree its nice to have a new list after all the patches from someone who knows what they are talking about. I had multiple discutions where people tell me that longsword is the best weapon in the game and riped out a tierlist from three years ago, I didn't agree but had no legitimate source to back it up so thanks for this.
It's good, but the current meta is still a stamina war, which the long sword loses. Bad pressure and on knight so low stam already. But it does have style.
The worst thing is when you meet a shooter who knows something about fencing, and he managed to get a sword/axe. That's the case when you risk crying into your pillow for the rest of your life. But it's one of the funniest weapons in the pub, especially with prehistoric leather.
Thanks the one thing that held back the pole axe is the big chance of missing a slash and then getting punished due to the short range. It's very good otherwise
@@RetentionLedGrowth heavy mace and battle axe is S tier because they’re the most meta weapons for duels, long sword C tier, messer B tier, messer was once S tier before the turncap and release nerfs
One thing about the longsword is because its accels are so fast, a lot of the time the opponent will miss the counters. Much like the Dane axe, but with a usable stab. Its drags aren't anything special but OK and it can triple feint well due to the slightly janky animations. I'd put the Longsword in A tier, personally. Other than that, I agree with the placements.
It was hard for me to place between A and B so it could probably go in A. It doesn't do the damage of the Dane and Knight has less stam than Vanguard. I guess it depends on the match up tho.
Longsword actually has a few things going for it: 1. It's has no weaknesses in terms of overall stuff (which is pretty much how it was designed) 2. It was some great tricks and works really well with attack cancels and stab to alt stab 3. It has one of the most usable special attacks out there because it's extremely fast and does good damage and stam damage 4. Slash/stab feint to kick catches a lot of people off guard especially after a long counter war or bombardment of accels 5. It's overhead is deceptively fast, faster than both the stab and the slash. It's also really good for triple or more feints since you can just wait for the opponent to screw up unless they have one of the faster one handers. 6. Finally, you can just bully a lot of one hander users if you just keep keep comboing while maintaining distance.
About the longsword, I agree with ur positioning, but there's something I want to point out. Idk how old those clips are, but if they are recent, u are using the longsword like a messer, wich isn't optimal. The best way to use it is, in a nutshell, span accels and, sudenlly, spin or do a heavy stab (like u said with the war axe). Both of those are preatty OP on the weapon.
The clips are new, I just don't use the longsword often and use the Messer alot. All the gameplay was recorded in one 4 hour session just for this video. So I'm definitely not playing at my best in every duel.
Aren't the katars considered 2 handed? Also i agree with the highland sword tier (i main it) its definitely got some major flaws in it (mainly its slash does the same as a fucking Messer) but it can certainly be a good dueling weapon with the accels and drags/mixups it has.
I think I am going to put katars in the 1 handed list because they are like fists, and they are on ambusher. They might take 2 hands but they play in a unique way.
The heavy drags with the glaive are really deceptive. Something I've never heard any one say about the 2H hammer is it accels at hitting your opponent at whatever timing you need to to get around there windows.
Yeah the 2H hammer is very punishing. Not a weapon you fient against but you wouldn't think so. Catches people alot. Great balanced weapon but the drags are a little bad.
It's pretty decent if people push you head on, a good defensive weapon. But if someone decides to use spacing you can get baited into swinging and missing
Your sensitivity is locked while you are swinging, so a higher dpi does nothing. But when you aren't swinging there is no cap on sensitivity. The key is to either start turning before you swing, or get better at positioning your opponent so that you can hit them with a spin. A spin is just an accelled slash that you follow all the way through with and hit them with the end of your attack window. You cannot do it effectively with all weapons.

Great video 👍 I need all the help i can get, The messer stab is my go-to.
It's probably the best stab in the game

this is such a trip. i recently started playing duel servers and im in this video! i get bodied at 5:49. you’re really good!

Nice tier list! Looking forward to the one handlers, which is my paradise lol.
It's gonna be tough, most 1 handers have a place in duels tbh.

I would definitely move longsword up one and glaive down
