The G43X is significantly larger and heavier than the G43, especially when you add fifteen rounds in a Shield Arms magazine. The G43 is much better suited for a pocket, deep concealment, or ankle carry when you must be very discrete. It is FAR from 'trash.' There's nothing wrong with the G43X and a fifteen-round mag, it just has a different role.
I own both, 43 & 43X, they both have their place. I like the Shield arms S15 mags very very reliable. I would NEVER sell my Glock 43, if given the option to only own ONE pistol I would keep the Glock 43, it is the best EDC made for (man) ALL my guns would go before I would let go of my G43. I also own a 17, and two 19's they are (Gen 2 & 3) I also own the Glock 27 & 26 too I like them much, I have been shooting Glocks since 1995, I carried my 43X for one full year and I retuned to my 6+1 Faithfull 43.
I totally agree!!! My rotation includes the 26, 43, 43x and 48 for ccw use. It just depends where I’m going, what I’m doing, temperatures & season and clothing worn by me to conceal the gun perfectly. My 43 is still used much.
I own a 43, 43x and a Shield Plus. The ultimate EDC for me would be the 43x but with shorter grip so that I could run flush fit 10rd mags with two finger grip, maybe 11 or 12 round mags with pinky extension, and then a full size 15 and beyond. The Shield Plus can sorta do this with the 10rd mags, 10rd with pinky extension, then the full grip 13rd mag. This is why the 43 is still relevant to me as well as it can be sized down with different mag set ups. My favorite of the three? The 43x. Damnit.
Some people carry a concealed handgun in environments which require formal or business casual dress attire. The larger size of the G43X may not conceal as well as the G43. Different tools for different requirements.
Agreed bro. I was being over the top with this review but I honestly do prefer the 43X. I can carry the 43 a bit easier using a pocket holster. All the best.
I prefer to EDC my glock 43. The reason is the lenght of the handle. Easy to conceal and to carry without any special holsters. Capacity does not bother me at all. If I decide to carry something bigger I will insret a high capacity mag. The 43X is not a bad gun at all, but not so comfortable to carry as glock 43.
I always liked shooting and carrying a G43 but I got tired of my girlfriend making fun of the size my pistol…so after watching this extremely intelligent video, I upgraded to a G43X. Now both my girlfriend and I feel great about the size of my pistol. I also started playing a Fender Strat, bought a Rolex, a Chuck Norris set of Raybans and a shit kicker hat in the attempt to make other like-minded dicks think I’m tougher than a school girl.
You need to break a new pistol in with a few hundred rounds before it will shoot good. You can’t shoot a few rounds and then call it a crappy gun. I couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn with my g43 until it was broke in now it’s great.
If you carry Shield mags in your Glock, you better swap out the polymer magazine catch for the metal Shield one, when using shield mags. Otherwise the Glock factory mag catch wears out with metal on plastic constant rubbing and contact. Personally, I prefer OEM FACTORY Glock mags. 10+1 in my 43x with two spare mags in my pocket is just fine for ccw use. The shield mags are ridiculously too expensive and not 100% reliable by some reports. Look at James Yeager’s channel on that one.
I absolutely love my 43. It's perfect for conceal carry. It's very light weight and runs flawlessly. I have zero problems shooting it. If you want a gun to fit all your fingers, that aint what a conceal carry gun is. Get a compact or full size... wtf...
43 is perfect for ultra conceal carry and you can size up, you can’t size down the 43x. It’s actually pretty simple, and still makes the gun very relevant. Frame is the same length as a 19 on the 43x and IMO defeated the purpose of the gun. Yes, more capacity, but 6-8 rounds is more than enough. 43 is perfect for Texas heat tshirt and shorts carry, light too. So no...it’s not just for seamstresses bubba lol.
@@TXHAWGKILLA I would never buy a 43x when I can get a g19 🥴 the shield mags are trash and would never trust me life to them. The 43 pocket carries, the 43x does not.
There you go! Glock was smart, they introduced the 42 380ACP because they knew guys would buy it then dump it and buy he 43 9mm. Then here comes the 43X and guys dump the 43!
If you are missing your little finger the 43 would be a good fit. For the rest of us with four fingers and a good sized hand the 43 lacks big time. I will not argue the point that the 43 may be one of the best guns to carry but when it comes to shootability its holding the 43x's beer.
I’m definitely going for the 43x. I usually carry a 19x but I need something a little smaller that I can carry while going for a run or hitting the gym.
Well the good news is if your like me and have the G43 get on gun broker and buy a stripped 43X/48 frame. I found mine for $198 stripped. Then you’ve got imo the best concealed carry gun on the market with the shield arms mags. And yeah it’s stupid to carry a 6+1 43 when this is available. Glock dropped the ball tho on the 43 and 43X they should be the same size mag well so that you could use the 43X mags in the 43. And the only reason I could see the 43 is for pocket carry. But the cool thing is I can take my 43 slide and trigger assembly and pins and put back in my 43 frame if I want to pocket carry. Since I originally had the 43 and bought the 43X frame.
If your wanting a Glock 9mm get a 19 or 26 or 17 nobody's coming out with new single stack handguns the 43X is thinner than a 19 but the grip length or size is the same l think Springfield ,Smith&Wesson, Ruger ,Taurus, Sig micro compacts surpass the 43X in size if your needing concealment but this is my opinion your getting more rounds and grip length is shorter on all these other micros if Glock redesigned a 26 slide length slide that was under 1.2 wide with the option of a 10 round grip and a longer grip model the size of the 19 frame with 15 rounds they would be a better option than a 43X in my opinion and l believe they would sell many of them this combo above with a 10 magazine and a 12 round extended mag for the short frame model and a 15 round magazine for the 19 sized frame with a extended 17 round magazine is what Glock should have invested in but they chose the single stack platform the reason l say a slide width less than 1.2 is Arex Delta Gen 2 is a Glock 19 or 17 size the slide width on it is 1.18 for comparison my Sig P365 is 1.0 the Arex Delta slide width is amazingly thin compared to other guns in this size or class wish they made a subcompact model
I carried a Gen 2 26 for a couple years. It was a brick. I could carry a 19 about as easy. I honestly think the 43X with S15 mags has almost made the 19 obsolete.

The 43x is more shootable. 43 is just as reliable. Like Hickok says: I have no place for the 43x because it's a belt gun. I agree with him, the 43 is a pocket carry. I own both.
Bought a 43X yesterday and this morning I got up with more chest hair and my balls are hanging a little lower. God knows what would have happened if I bought a 43. I probably would have woke up wanting to vote for Biden and go to a pride parade.
Only reason why the 43x was made because the glock 43 was so good. Don't ever get it twisted. The glock 43x is cheaper everywhere I find it than the 43, im sure for a good reason.
Yes your reasons are exactly why. Lol . I live in a lib state ☹️. And its hard to even get that brand in this state. And second reason!. Some jobs require dressing up.
