Used to live in Queens. @ 1:50 that construction site was the scene of a horrific crime 24 yrs ago. I will never forget it. An ex employee of the Wendy’s that used to be there, along with another criminal, tied up 7 employees and shot them all 😢😢, 5 died. May their souls rest in peace ✝️🕊️. I loved Flushing: good shopping, food, & people.
I went to John Bowne High School in Flushing and loved that school. I later moved to Jackson Heights. Queens is very expensive, life so many other nice places. I'll always miss it.
A lot of luxury high rise apartments being built in Flushing, a lot of commercial retails and nice restaurants in Flushing now, though this is all in downtown area. But I love the bustling diverse atmosphere of Flushing. Grew up here my whole life!
I grew up going to Flushing almost every weekend. It was always an Asian city of hustle and bustle. But before it was cute and cultural. Now it's just a mega free for all.
It was a regular Chinatown decades ago, now you're seeing a lot of commercial retail businesses (including fancy Chinese restaurants and malls) and high rises popping up around downtown Flushing, it's definitely changing a lot!
Hasn't changed in 25 years. Flushing has had a huge Korean community since the early 90's. But i do remember the 80s when there was a FW Woolworth and Alexanders on Roosevelt and Main. Some of the best Korean food anywhere on main street.
When you're in Flushin ,u feel like ur in China... when ur in the Bronx u feel like ur in Venezuela and when ur in Brooklyn, u feel like ur in the Caribbean... what's up with that?😮😊

I used to go there to buy bootleg Japanese Anime. At that time, I couldn't get a DVD player that was region-free. Because of that, bootlegs with no regional encoding were required. Now that everything is streaming, and I've ripped all my legit zone 2 anime over to MKV, there's no need to go there any more. If I want Pocky and J-Snack, there are plenty of H-Mart stores to go to. Korean owned and operated H-Marts are much cleaner anyway.
@@NYBestDJ It's an average mall with mostly Chinese goods, and there's a food court in the downstairs where they serve a variety of Chinese cuisine from different parts of China. You'll also see few Korean food vendors. There's also have a large Chinese grand restaurant at the top floor.

The kids of the soilders from ww2 left and sold their houses their parents bought for $5,000 for $1 million or more. Be grateful you had buyers and could live in Florida. Much of queens left and went to Florida. The winters are hard.
what a mess. the stores and illegal street vendor is seriously obstructing the pedestrian sidewalk , is the queens boro president, the mayor and communitly leader going to enforce the law? or just let it turn into a 3rd world community?
When you get a chance, watch my other video “Roosevelt Ave Queens” the link is in the description below. That one is worse. There are beds and dressers from furniture stores outside on the sidewalks. Welcome to New York City 😅😇
