- We marked the start of our summer by heading up to the Black River Falls ATV trails for a Memorial Day weekend UTV riding adventure with our friends! This was the second time we did a camp & ride with our friends here - we camped at Wild Rock County Park as a previous season tornado had closed the group camp area of Snyder Lake County Park where we camped last year.
This was our first day of riding after getting up there and setting up camp. We have about four rides in the area we'll share with you over the next few weeks, after putting on several hundred miles over the long weekend. Summer is finally here!

Thats a great trail system. We were there mid summer 2021. The trails North of Hwy 10 were nice and South of Hwy 10 were nice but a little rough. We went to Iron River June 4th . The trails were nice but they need some rain. Very Dusty !
It really is. Very scenic. The further south you go, the rougher the trails get. More trail traffic I think. We’ve camped up by Iron River but haven’t rode up there yet. Definitely on the list!
Thanks for sharing, I enjoyed it!
You bet Randy! Thanks for watching!!!
@@TheNorthwoodsFamily we"ll be hosting a Welcome Center at Dilly's Cenex station / mini-mart in Hatfield on Saturday, July 2nd. Should be a busy weekend. Feel free to join us or stop in at any of our Welcome Centers sometime.
I've had fun in my new RMAX. A trip to Blanding and Bluff, UT, Escalante, UT (Grand Staircase National Monument area). Last weekend found us in the Vernal, UT -- Ashley National Forest and today just a short ride at Mona Pole. Ride, ride, ride!
That sounds great! Beautiful spots there. We definitely want to get down to Utah to ride sometime.
I was there last week had a great time
Thanks for sharing
You bet. It’s a nice place to ride. Nice trails, plenty of restaurants, good campgrounds and lodging and just an all around cool ATV/UTV culture. Lotta fun!
Ok, 3:24 Falcon Ridge tires , nice 👍🏼
Yep! You got it!
And did you guys get up to the witch's cabin with all of the stuff hanging on it. I haven't made it through your whole video but I'm just seeing
I’m not familiar with what you’re talking about. Unless it’s that shack with all the bras hanging off it? 😂 that was right next to where my buddy was stopped
I died laughing during the Bohemian Rhapsody bit. I do the same thing with our kids. Thanks Wayne and Garth!
Excellent! Party on! 😆
I don’t think you have made a video on it or talked it about it yet and if you did my apologies. Why did you chose to get a Polaris general over a Polaris ranger. It seems like a ranger would be better for over landing since it looks like it has a bigger bed. Thanks!
No worries that's a good question. While the Ranger does have a bigger bed, we felt the General was more geared towards for trail riding whereas the Ranger is more geared towards utility. The General is almost a cross between the Ranger and the RZR so you get a nice blend of performance, comfort and utility.
The big differences we liked about the General - bucket seats, 18 more horsepower, more ground clearance, bigger wheels and a different suspension. We have a 2-seat Ranger too we use on our property, but we've been really happy with the General for what we use it for, and would go that route again!
Have you guys been up here since then? I've stayed at that campground
We passed through on our trip across the state but haven’t been up to ride just that area since
🏆🏆🏆👍🇺🇲🙏
Thank you for sharing
Thank you! 🙌
Sorry I’m a new subscriber but I thought you had Terabyte tires, are those BFG tires?
Yep we ran the Terrabytes last year and have a review on them. Really liked them.
The new shoes sent to us by Falcon Ridge to run for the year. They are their Cougar Radial tires and 14” Glide wheels. This was our first trail ride with them and so far we like em!
As I'm watching the videos I was out there that same weekend. They don't allow you to do chainsaws because they are reliable for if you get hurt
Roger that!
What radios and headsets do y’all use that lets you communicate and be able to hear through the GoPro?
It’s called the ComS4S from a company called UTV COM. It has an independent line out that I run to our camera through the GoPro audio adapter.
Great video, where did you guys start out from? Doesn't look very sandy or washboard there.?
I almost don’t want to give it away but the further north you go, the better the trail conditions. This video was from between Snyder Park and Wildrock Park. Our next video I think, you’ll see how badly washboarded the trails were down by Black River Falls.
Ya those lights bars are no no here also . Can have running lights on but ya no light bar
Yeah I hadn’t realized in our state anything above the level of the headlights is illegal on the road. I had assumed you just had to turn it off when traffic was approaching like high beams.
My buddy knew this, he had it on the trail for visibility just forgot to turn it off on the road. Deputy was nice enough, chatted with the kids and we all went on our way.
Judging from your videos, you guys seem to like Mexican Cuisine!!! If we ever link up we will invite you to some Authentic Homemade Mexican Food 😋...

Lol we do! That would be amazing!! 😋
How do you like your general I have a 2022 RZR xp1000 I was looking to buy a two seater general buy bought the RZR . I keep wondering if I should have bought the general xp100p deluxe
We love it. It’s been great for what we do. For us it’s a nice blend of the best parts of the RZR and RANGER. For loading up the family, hauling gear, etc it doesn’t haul as much as a Ranger but the performance and comfort is better. The performance isn’t quite there compared the RZR, but it still hauls and rides great. We love it and would totally buy it again. But all depends what you use it for.
I was on that trail to help clear it. it was BAD. Absolute understatement how bad it was. I broke one chainsaw, a chain, two ropes and spilled bar oil all over the floor of my ranger.
Jeez! Yeah we realized how bad it must have been after we got down to Snyder Park and saw things there. Just around that group camp site alone was amazing how many trees were gone from last year. It clearly wasn’t just a couple trees down across the trail.
Anyways - thanks for your work on that. We appreciate it and are looking forward to riding it when it opens up again 🙏🏼
@@TheNorthwoodsFamily were headed up again weekend before the 4th because that section will be open. Also going north after the loop was pretty rough on sunday. I saw you guys (hard to miss a general with that back rack) while I was about to winch out somebody going south. (I have a big game edition ranger crew). Keep on keeping on, if you ever want to do a trail maintanance video, i can put us together with jackson county for a day.
Sounds like you need to learn to operate your saw…
@@TheAcenightcreeper sounds like you werent there
Is it all just a groomed trail system ?, or are there designated areas to actually go four-wheeling ?
It’s all groomed. Further north in Clark County the trails seem to have a harder base. Further south, they are dirt and require a lot of grooming when it get ts busy. They can get pretty badly washboarded by Black River falls.
We don't have anywhere to ride with trails like that in Indiana
Lots of parts in our state don’t have trails either. This is probably the furthest south we have actual trails aside from some old railroad beds which are scenic but not the same.
Light bars are stupid.
We sure like ours at night, but I don’t think they do much in the day besides get you pulled over 😂
@@TheNorthwoodsFamily
I have 360° flood lights. A flood light front bar hood level. A flood light on each front corner; flood light each side just rear below roof line; led flood lights on each rear corner. Led rock lights above each tire... all bright white. There is nothing on the roof. Some of the two track trails are pretty well overgrown. Most full size utv won't fit the trails we offroad.
Stop adding stupid background music.
You didn’t say the magic word.
