Russell’s 10 is so underrated I’ll never understand why some people hate on it. GO EAGLES!!
Its really something how a bottle with such an amazing price just doesn't fit me that well. Glad you found a go to.
Russell's 10 year has become one of my daily drinkers, excellent.
Fruit bomb!
Eagle rare and Russles at my local shop are same price. At that price I prefer Longbranch - Wild Turkey product. Unsure of the age. But the other two are iconic.
Enjoyed watching the video while sipping on Russell’s 10 year. Gotta try Eagle Rare, it’s hard to find and overpriced in my area.
Awesome! I have bunch of allocated stuffs but always come back to ER !
@@Faisalhossain-s5h it’s tough not to. The Russell’s 10 has become more of a fave since we did this video. It’s always in stock here, whereas the ER can still be tough to find. I just happen to have quite a few in stock, so I don’t have to go searching for it very often 😆
@@ThinBlueWhiskey i can’t stand Russel 10 tbh lol
I have few ER in stock too..
Nice review of some great bottles. I have all but the Michter’s 10. The McKenna 10 I have is a good bottle, but hard to beat Russell Reserve 10. Some of the best bottles out there are the Russell Reserve Single Barrel store picks.
I agree 100%. I have a few different Russell's private barrel picks. They're unbelievably good. I took a swig of the Michter's 10 the next day, and on it's own, it was decent. But blinded against these others, it just stood out (and not in a positive way).
New Riff straight Rye is delicious. I suggest you to grab a bottle. The 5% malted Rye gives it a really enjoyable pour….
@@paleggett1897 I agree. I have a bottle. I have several New Riff offerings, and I like them all. Their malted rye is also good. I have the Balboa rye, but haven't opened it yet. 👍🏻
I have bottles of Russell's 10 and Eagle Rare stashed away. Both delicious. I agree, the HM 10 is a hit or miss depending on which bottle(batch) you have. Cheers guys
I’ve only had Eagle Rare and bought my first bottle for 32.95 in Oregon last night (1 bottle per customer). I think it is wonderfully smooth. I’m going to try Russell’s next. I’ve never seen Michters. Enjoyed the video. Thanks!
Enjoy that 🦅 for $33! I know there would be a lot of jealous people... I've seen places demand $70-90 for it.
I've seen some 1.75 L Eagle Rare here in Texas for $200
Salina, Kansas? Way to represent!
Yessir!!! Thanks!
My prediction was that ER and RR10 would be 1 and 2. Woohoo! Couple of my favorite pours right there.
I was a bit shocked that the Michters 10 had such a funkiness. It got worse the longer it aired out. That marker note didn't show up for 10-15 min.
@@ThinBlueWhiskey Call me crazy but I expected that one to be last or close to it.
Eagle rare rocks!
It has always been one of my favorite sub-100 proofers. I was glad it did well in this blind. Made my heart happy ☺️
Russell ten-year-old you can't beat it
Russell’s 10 is the best sub-$35 bottle I’ve ever had.
Love russels 10 and regular Bulliet burbon is my go to for my standard new fashioned cocktail
Where are you guys located? The math isn't working out. "Michters 10 ... $150 to 170... could easily buy the rest of these for that"
I would to find a bottle of Michters 10 for under $220. I have seen (this year, in GA, SC) Russels 10 from $35-45, Eagle Rare from $40-200, H McKenna from $60-120, Bullett 10 from $60-80.
PS, meant to type "... would (love) to find a bottle of Michters 10..." The McKenna is a SINGLE Barrel and I have had great ones, good ones, and decent ones, never a bad one, but a huge swing in tastes nonetheless. I pulled down my Bullett and Russels to refresh my memory... and TODAY I would rate Eagle Rare #1, Bullett #2, a theoretical average of McKennas I have tried and my current Russels tied for #3. Tomorrow might be different.
Yeah, math was a little off. You probably can’t buy all 4 for $160, but it would be fairly close. We’re in central Kansas. I can get Russell’s 10 for 35-40, Eagle Rare for 40-45, HMcK for 50 (it recently went up here from 35 to 50), and Bulleit for 50. So, 180-185 for all 4 here.
@@ThinBlueWhiskey thanks for the response. Caught the "Salinas" comment the second time thru, I don't think I have ever seen the michters 10 on a retail shelf for sale, passed on michters rye 10 year earlier this year for $300. Eagle rare is a bargain for anything under $90 in these parts. sorta off topic but The Tin Cup mgp 10 and 14 years are tasty, as is their mgp rye.
@@haljarvis1854 I really want to try the tin cup 10 and 14. All the reviews are good. But I’m not a fan of their regular one AT ALL. So, I haven’t made myself pull the trigger on the other two yet. *I’ve never had the opportunity to get a M10 rye, but I want one bad!
I honestly like Russel’s much more than Eagle Rare. ER is just too sweet for me. I like the good oakiness, nuttiness and complexity of Russel’s Reserve much better.
I haven't watched but it would be kind of disappointing if M10 doesn't do well for that price
Prepare for disappointment…. (In our opinions, of course). Just goes to show, you can find great bottles for a fraction of the price.
For the money and availability Russell 10 wins every time
40 bucks my ass, not in eastern Kentucky or Ohio. Where I’m at it’s allocated!! which pisses me off, because it’s my favorite!!
Fortunately it's still in that 40-45 range here (if you can find it). It definitely doesn't hurt to have good relationships too.
I must have a better bottle of Bulleit. Its better than McKenna and Russels 10. I haven't had Eagle rare or Michters 10 yet but will one day. I was hoping to get some difference out of the 3 of you but it was still a good watch.
I was really hoping for more from the Bulleit 10. It was just a bit thin. And it got a little astringent with that permanent marker note the longer it sat in the glass. Not as bad as the Michters 10. And I thought I really liked the Michters 10, but this is why we like blinding them.
Thanks for the feedback.
Yeah, another Bullet 10 fan here. I've got a bottle I'm about to open and an Eagle Rare I'm about to finish. I'm thinking I need to do a side by side. I like, but really don't love, the Wild Turkey products. I've not had a lot of McKenna, and never had one I thought was all that exceptional. Never had this Michter's itirtation, and nothing here is making me in a hurry to change that.
@@harrisonburger9355 I thought I liked M10, but doing this blind flight fight made me rethink that. It’s not a drain pour by any means, but there are definitely better, less expensive, much easier-to-find options.
McKenna 10🤮
They're definitely hit or miss.
