I hope Konami stops messing around and drops Yellow, Pink, and Black one day. 3 new rangers and 3 new zords, I could see that fixing all this deck's problems and possibly even touching meta status.
Fantatstic combo guide. Clearly a lot of effort put into it, and very thorough on the core combos. I've personally been toying around with a Heraldic Beast engine to alleviate the discards/grant more materials on Magnus. 3 Leo, 2 Aberconway, 3 Charged-Up Heraldry. The lock from the latter doesn't matter since you're only summoning machines anyway, and between Leo searching an Aberconway whenever it's sent to the GY, and Aberconway recurring Leo later on, it's surprisingly effective. And CUH not only gives you more material for 1 card than Ship, but can also trigger the GY effects of Super Quants that haven't been used that turn, or trigger Diviner if it gets ashed. The big problem is ofc that they're useless by themselves, so it's probably better to run something more generic... but when else am I going to play Heraldic Beasts? ^_^

This is a nice combo video personally for me as I use this deck in Duel Links and Master Duel and I use Volcanic Shell as Discard fodder and Monster Reborn to reborn any layers that are in the GY if I dont have a full combo. With Volcanic shell I just have to give up 500-1000 LP to essentially get three mech beasts on the field for Magnus and also I tend to use the trap Magnaslayer to give my Magnus and my Mech Beasts extra ATK , Piercing while its equipped, and at least 2 more attacks if I already attacked. Also some MST's both as Discard fodder if I dont have Shell and to pop back row if I have a better Discard target
DarkArmedDuelist had an interesting take on this deck that uses a small !Danger! core to get benefits from Carriers discards. And specifically in the case of Nessie, searcha more Danger cards to discard to carrier.

Activate the field spell, special summon the green xyz discarding the red and special summon the blue with the red's effect. Now you have on the field: the green xyz, the white layer and the blue layer. With 2 cards on your hand you can special summon the boss.

This seems like a really cool deck! Would you recommend it for beginners? I've been out of touch with Yu-gi-oh for a long time now, and have been thinking of giving it another go.
They're pretty great for starting out since they will teach you things like Chain links and summon/grave mechanics. The playstyle is very simple, too. As you see in the video, it's basically just make the Megazord or bust. If you want to try them I recommend trying to build them on Master Duel! They are fairly cheap/F2P to build as most of the cards you need are not expensive. Only Red Layer and Magnus are UR. Good luck and stay tuned for more guides!
I know right? I sure wish they could! :( This deck would be so much better if so. Even the Quick play spell Super Quantal Alphancall Appeal negates the effects of the summoned monster... Their Link monster Neo Super Quantal Mech King Blaster Magna doesn't negate effects, but I've never found it very useful to play. Thanks for watching!

Great guide, but can you pull off magnus with only alphan and red layer in hand? What layer should you select in the alphan tribute? Sometime I think green layer is useless lol, can not include in the deck?
If Alphan and Red are all you have, you'll need to get to the field spell with Blue. This means you MUST hit Blue (33% chance) off Alphan. Your choices should probably be Blue, White, Red. If you miss Blue, you can at least make a Red mech. BUT IF you have Alphan, Red AND a Blue in hand, you can Special Summon Red, Normal Summon Alphan, then choose Blue, GREEN, Red. This increases your chances of getting Blue's effect to 66% Green is mandatory at least at 1, purely because it's a different name. As you see in the video, there is no way to guarantee Magnus with some of these combos if you don't have at least 1 Green to rotate. It doesn't work with only Red/White/Blue. I play 2 because he can also be part of the 3 card combo with Alphan and Field. If you choose to play Alphan Spike, Green becomes more useful because you can use his grave effect to discard Alphan Spike from hand (which will get you to the field spell) and also get a draw.
Yep! "Sent to GY" includes detaching. You may have been thinking of effects that say "Sent from Field to GY" which do NOT activate on detach, because XYZ materials are not "on the field"
That is a valid strategy! I tried it for a little while, but I didn't like losing to Ash v Imsety, but this was before the field spell. Now with the field spell, I think it's a little better. Especially because sending Rainbow Bridge of Salvation with Sarc or Imsety can get you to the SQ field OR Horus field. Good stuff. Might do a deck profile one day

This deck is fun to play, I love it. But there's room for 2 more layers with mechs to address some of the decks weakpoints.
I agree... I want to see at least one more for Earth, and maybe another for Dark Attributes. One day!

I love the Danger engine :) Use it in all my Super Quant deck lists. Level 7s and 3s mean you can overlay with white or blue!

Check out my Super Quant + Purrely Deck Profile where I use that strategy to the fullest! In standard Super Quant I don't like it as much personally.
