- Three days at the North Rim of Grand Canyon National Park! We did three great hikes - the Bright Angel trail, North Kaibob trail, and Cape Final trail. We also drove the North Rim Scenic Drive to Point Imperial and Cape Royal including Angel's Window. Filmed in August 2021. Thanks for watching!
Enjoy your youth while you can. Amazing video. ThankYou
Awesome video because of scenery but especially because no music or constant talking/narration = just quiet and relaxing. Thanks for sharing with us!
Thank you for watching and for your kind words!
Amazing video with fully natural scenery
Fantastic video, connecting with this awesome Canyon through the eyes of your lens was a lot of fun and brought back beautiful memories.. very useful too for trails … Thankyou !
Excellent; majestic; great video 😎😎😎😎⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Wonderful video,,,,I visited this place about 11 years back in 2011 ,,,,sweet memories passed in my mind ,,,,hats off to videographer,,,🙏🙏🙏
A past paramour and I stayed at the North Rim Lodge in 1976, and this video brings back memories! Thank you so much for this lovely video!
SUPER job of making this video, subscribed and will be watching more...thanks for your effort.
Thanks for watching, I’m glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for Sharing!
Wow ! Awesome video ! Thank you for your hard work and footage
Very nice video narrative.
thank you so much. We are too old and out of shape to do such a hike but your video is superb! Thanks for helping us hike with you while in our chairs.
I'm so glad you enjoyed it and we could bring you along for the hike
That was a long hard hike. Thanks for the video.
It really was hard - worth the effort though. Thanks for watching, glad we could share it with you.
Liked and subscribed. We also did 3 days at North Rim in September 2023, I didn't get so far on N Kaibab trail, let me agree with some other commenters and congratulate you on the narratio-free, music-free quiet video. Also you achieved pretty good colour and contrast, I must revisit my GoPro footage and see if I can match that!
Thank you so much, I appreciate it! It’s such a beautiful place, definitely wanted to do it justice
Amazing views!
Oh no !! Went to the North Rim and didn't hike down to Havasupai Falls ? It's not an easy hike but well worth it 😄
Awesome video. Brings back memories of my trip there on 3rd and 4th of July this past summer.
Thanks! I’m glad it could bring back memories - that was a large part of why I made it too, to go back and remember what it was like!
Excellent 5 ⭐️
I concur, nice video works.
Thanks for a true to life great vacation to the North Rim. Having visited the area a few times, you captured it well, and it makes me want to check out the North Rim!
Thank you for the kind words! I feel like the south rim gets all the glory but the north rim was really amazing
This was so enjoyable. My wife and I went there a few years ago but didn't have time to hike. Now we're to old and crippled to do so. I so wish we'd planned better then. On the up side, we did get to see a condor at the South Rim two days later. We didn't know about the bridge between the North Rim and Flagstaff. What a long but beautiful drive that is.
Wow I bet seeing a condor on the south rim was amazing! I’m so glad you enjoyed this video and we could share the experience with you. Thank you for watching!
Great work guys. Love a good road trip and a hike. Unfortunately only managed to stop for a short while at the north rim of the Grand Canyon. I have just started a Travel Destinations UA-cam channel to share all my travel experiences. Thankyou. Subscribed!
Thanks! Can’t wait to check out your channel, subscribed!
The animals on the trail aren't horses they're mules. Mules are more sure footed than horses. Nice video though, wife and i were there in August my first time since early 80s. Beautiful spot of Arizona!
You're right about the mules, I learned something new! It really is a beautiful spot. Thanks for watching!
nice video. I might be considering one of those cabins on my vacation..
Thanks for watching! I definitely recommend the cabins, it was so cool to be able to wake up right at the canyon, and it was convenient to get meals close by at the lodge.
Thank you so much
Totally awesome! Thanks for the video :) You didn't have to make it but some of us are so glad you did!! Do you mind telling me what time of year you made the video, to practically have the canyon to yourselves?
Thank you for watching! I’m glad you enjoyed it, this comment made my morning :) We were there the first week of August. It was hot during the day down in the canyon, so we had to start hiking early in the morning and be careful with water and how far we hiked, but during the evenings it got down to 50 degrees and was lovely. Plus the north rim lodge and campground can only house so many people, so it gets very quiet in the mornings/evenings
Very lovely. How much extra time was needed to capture all of this on video?
@@smokeysmith1282 Not long, maybe an hour over the course of the hike. Filming breaks help us to slow down and soak in the views
From Ethan, four years old; "I liked the canyon".
Thanks for watching!!
Clearly, Ethan knows a good Canyon when he sees one!
Thanks for sharing! What kind of camera do you use?
Nothing too fancy, alternate between a GoPro and an iPhone, and sometimes use a stabilizer (DJI Osmo) with the phone. We also use a DSLR (Nikon D5300 I think) but just for photos.
What was the date of this trip? I’m planning our trip for around May 24 this year. I’m wondering what the weather will be
This was in early August! It was really hot down in the canyon while hiking, but up at the rim it got pretty cold at night. With the north rim being about a 1000 ft higher in elevation than the south rim it can be pretty variable.
I must have missed it, what month did you do this hike?
Early August, of 2021
nice video. What are you filming with?
Thanks! Using an iPhone (usually with DJI gimbal) and a GoPro
Thanks
August is supposedly the worst month heat-wise. Did you guys record any temp data on the hike?
Yes it was definitely hot. The day of our longest hike into the canyon, the high on the rim was 87 and I think it was at least 10 degrees hotter once we descended down into the canyon but I don’t have the actual data. We took that seriously and carried a lot of water. The north rim is pretty high elevation (I think a mile higher than south rim) so in the morning/evening it was chilly, around 50 degrees.
