I used to visit oak Creek in 1963 through 1970. They're usually was nobody at slide Rock. It was peaceful and there were trout everywhere! Now it's like going to encanto Park in downtown Phoenix and they often have to close it down by July or August because of all the fecal matter in the water!! It's too bad when beautiful places are discovered and then destroyed........
Yeah, when I went to Grand Canyon, & Sedona & Verde Valley area, I really felt good. Like Az was my bithplace. But not really, a transplant like everyone else nowadays with easy travels

Nice overview! For those going toJerome, don’t miss the Douglas State Park on your way into town. It is actually an old mansion with fascinating historical items and information, ESPECIALLY a 15-minute video with a ghost narrating Jerome’s history.
Funny...I call the Florida Keys "Keysworld" because I think it's just a big playland too! Once you cross over into Key Largo it's pure funtime all the way to Key West. 🌞

Used to live at Amante @ Verde Santa Fe just east of Cottonwood but before you come into Cornville. It was great to see all the places we used to go to. I would encourage golfers to play a round or two at Agave Highlands on Cornville Road just east of Cottonwood and The Sedona Golf Resort. You’ll notice your drives go further in the high desert air. Fishermen and women need to drop a line into Oak Creek which parallels Highway 89A for several miles once you get into the canyon east of Sedona. 89A itself is quite the scenic drive between Sedona and Flagstaff but it will keep the driver very busy as it winds its way uphill into the 7,000’ elevation of Flagstaff.

If you are considering moving there be aware it’s an HOA. It should be fairly easy to contact someone on the board. I would suggest asking for a copy of the HOA’s Rules and Regulations. When we lived there we had no problems with any of the R&R’s but like I said that has been 8 years now. I see the golf course has changed hands which could be good or bad. It was a great course when I was there. It was not connected with the Amante HOA so if you’re a golfer and in the area you could check it out. I hope this helps you out.

Beautiful state. Full of quirky and interesting little towns to visit and explore. And those views are gorgeous.
I went October 23, 2023, the weather was awesome! Oak Creek Canyon was my favorite. I love the whole area

I suggest driving from FlaggStaff to Sedona on that spectacular road 89A Going down in elevation truly shows the spectacular views
This is the best time of the year to be in Arizona.
Not for me I prefer sizzling summer in Sedona.
