"Your kind"? That guy is not much of a human being. I'm sorry you were subjected to that ugliness. On a more positive note, I really loved the sights of Ouray, the waterfall was beautiful. I always enjoy your videos, you are such an interesting narrator. Your voice is very pleasant and relaxing to listen to. May all your future adventures be happy and joyful!
I agree, I live in the US the levels of rudeness, cold indifferance and aggression and disrespect are horrible currently. I mainly retreat home, play with my dogs or play guitar, read, Hope you are well wendy
Thank you for being honest about the campground and not holding back!! I am going to be in the area on a west trip next September and am glad I can mark that one off my list of possible stays!
They think they had u by the nuts but I'm glad u left. Oh yes I will mark it off of my 5 night stay with them that I was looking forward to spending with them
Robert, we have watched all your first videos (here in North Yorkshire Uk,) some of them twice, but they are all so awesome, thank you very much for putting them on You Tube, you have no idea how much we appreciate it, as we are both 80, and have not much else to do , so again, THANK YOU
3 RV friends were planning to go to that KOA for a week starting this weekend all 3 rv’s decided to find another spot good to have your feedback - Really wild you cannot use your own hotspot at this KOA. Durango KOA... DOA
Gorgeous town of Ouray, Colorado! I have lived here in Colorado for 39 years…never made it to Ouray yet. They have a huge hot spring pool in town. Colorado has a lot of hot springs! Yes all those towns are touristy; however, Steamboat Springs, Colorado is my favorite small town. Lots of locals live there and it is the training mountain for the US Olympic ski team. They practice their jumps all year round…including summertime! It is in town and free…plus lots of restaurants and breweries. Just like most small touristy towns, restaurants and breweries all over! Lots of activities…they have outdoor concerts as well! Festivals in the summer and fall! The wine country is in Palisade, Colorado…sweet peaches! Their wine tasting used to be free…it is right off I-70, before Grand Junction, Colorado. Sooo picturesque! Just like the Southwest… Thank you for showcasing Ouray and the million dollar highway! That’s my next road-trip…take care and thank you for sharing your travels! Always enjoyed them…Salud ! ☕️♥️🌺🏞🍻
I just read some other reviews of Durango Nth. It seems you are not the only one who had a strange interaction with the owners. Impressed by your taking the high road regarding their parting comments. I certainly won't be letting my shadow fall there and will counsel those I know to do the same. I just upvoted John Doe's comment left there after also watching your episode.
Your mountain related videos are my favorite. Deserts and beaches are cool but the mountains are what does it for me. Mountains are so dramatic and overwhelming in person and I can picture what it's like being there by watching you there.
Robert that was one great video of the Stomping Grounds of my Childhood camping trips with my parents beginning in 1958. Did my first solo road trip on pretty much the same route at 17 back in 1969. Your right about things to see you could go back a hundred times an still not get your fill of the landscape. Your experience at the KOA seems to show how things have changed over the past 60 years . Thanks for making my self isolation here in Northern Nevada more enjoyable
You people!!!! I think he needs a manners lesson. Did he not know that running a business is 50% word of mouth? Think that was a shot in the foot for him. Well deserved i say. Carry on robert. You did the right thing. Great video, as per usual ❤
Robert, it's nice to see you in our back yard. We are a bit north of Ridgway. The interesting wagon you saw on Main St in Ouray is a shepherd's camper. They tend flocks of sheep in the high country above Ouray and Silverton during the summer - lonesome work but in a beautiful place. The shepherds are often Basque, Mexican, or South American folk. One of them is wintering a flock at my in-laws' ranch right now. Also, Cascade Falls has several more falls above the one you visited, but the trail to them is strenuous.
We can't stop watching all your videos that have brought us through covid so far. It was awful to hear about your KOA experience, but inspired by your ability to move on and give your fans a great video/product. I hope the guy goes broke. Not enough IPA to forget an idiot like that. Love when you have chats and "issues" with your GPS gal! You are patient with her too. Roll on Robert.
Love your soundtrack, Robert , you’re very creative and have a great voice! Watching in 2020 social distancing from my home in Colorado Springs, Colorado
hey Robert just turn off Broadcasting your SSID you can still use it without them knowing. If they had an advanced network their multiband routers would automatically deconflict the frequencies. Did he just *you people* - you? lol
This is an option, but be sure to forget the SSID on your phone / computer afterward. It's a bit of a security risk because when not connected your computer will continuously broadcast the SSID while searching for the hotspot.
He didn't take the high road. He threatened the campground owner with bad reviews and to tell his followers on social media what happened from his perspective. The high road would have been a simple, didn't like the campground and leave it at that sort of review
I go to Ouray about once every couple of years, it's one of my favorite places in Colorado! Have also done the Durango-Silverton train with my family; it was a blast. I still want to try it in the autumn time.
My wife and I have been trying to catch up on all of your video's and saw this and I am truly sorry such a wonderful person as yourself would have to be subjected to this. You are a truly good man being the bigger man and not stooping to that low attitude. You have tremendous character. Will NEVER set foot in Durango!! Thank you Robert for all you do for us!! Also, Hi Illy!! Hi Mom!!, We Love You all!!
What a shame with the KOA. The "Million Dollar" hwy is Amazing & a Must Do. The town of Ouray was incredible. It seems that every vid adds more and more destinations for us. Always entertaining & informative. Lou & Angie💚💜
Dear Robert: Please write or speak to KOA main corporation about the negative experience they gave you, give every detail. I would tell them you are asking for a full refund, and share this video with them. If they don't want to pay for your entire road trip, they could at least refund your complete stay, because you deserved to be treated better, and you deserved a nice road trip. You are worth it!
Robert, this is your best video yet! I seldom comment, but I have to say that your video was fantastic here. Thank you for all of the time you put into the editing. Safe travels!
I was so incensed I posted the following message on the KOA FB page along with a link to this video: "The owners of the KOA in Durango CO are racist idiots. " They responded: "Thank you for bringing this to our attention, Paul. We will work with the campground to address this."
Yet another masterpiece from traveling Robert! Sadly my travel trailer is surrounded by a foot of snow but at least I have your videos to hold me by until Spring! Thank you for everything you do Robert
dear Robert, thank you very much for sharing this beautiful video with us. we thought we were in Switzerland. last month, I did a road trip of the great American west, and here you go with your beautiful videos, I'm starting to have nostalgia for this magnificent country USA
The town of Ouray is stunning! Nice job on capturing the beauty of Colorado. I haven't spent much time exploring oout west so I may have to plan a trip" Drivin to the West!" Great job.
Great video Robert. Your positive energy, mindset and outlook is much better than those rude people at KOA In my opinion, just let it go and forget about it. Never return and that’s the end of it. No need for writing negative reviews. You shared your experience with us and I”m positive none of your viewers will ever visit that campground. This video was amazing and can’t wait for the next one.
Robert, I'm watching this again and could have it running 24 hours a day. My grandparents were some of the settlers in the early 1900 and saw how important water was as they invested in water buying stocks and bonds. They are resting in Golden , Colorado. I Love Your Videos. Stay safe, stay healthy and family first 🐕🐈🤗
Loved your Vlogs traveling to the west where is sun sets...resplendent landscape God blessed you Americans .roaring waters ..cascades..forest etc ..all is to much eye-popping..love you uncle you travelled the earth to much for us ..thanks love you.
Its such a shame to hear you encountered such people on your trip. Im surprised he didnt try an charge you for the scenery too. You showed great restraint when explaining a difficult situation and individuals. Thanks for another great outstanding video, gave me another dose of beauty and sunshine to uplift my winter UK blues.
Haven't been to Ouray in 33 years. Going to visit daughter and grandson in Texas. So think I'm swinging by there on the way back to Phoenix. Thanks for the beautiful video.
We go to Durango in our travel trailer about once a year and always stay at Alpen Rose rv park. It’s just north of Durango toward Silverton. It’s very nice.
Roberto! So proud of you!!!!! These times are shaky! Esta Boricua is fuming por lo que te paso!!! Anyway, Another wonderful video, thank you so much!!!! You always tell it like it is!!! Mucho abrazos!!!
Hey Robert, great video ... as always! Can't believe you hauled an RV behind you from Durango to Ouray. Several years I drove the route the other direction in a passenger car and that was challenging enough. Colorado mountain roads tend not to have guardrails so plows can push the snow off the side of road easier. Does nothing to make drivers (and worse, passengers) feel comfortable when driving them. Regarding the comments at the KOA, I am so glad you choose to live in the US!
That is a real bummer what happened at the KOA hope you still enjoyed the best state a lot though, and those views are truly breathtakingly awesome. Welcome to Colorful Colorado!
Hey Robert! My wife and I often go to KAO campisites, after seeing your experience with this Durango Riverside KAO campsite, it is definitely crossed off our list. Sucks to see it ruined your exploring mood, it would have been me as well. I really appreciate your honestly. And that’s what I want to hear. There are plenty of great campsites even independent run business which I am pretty sure they allow you to your own hotpot. 😉👍🏻 beautiful Durango and Ouray! It always has been my dream to visit the Rocky Colorado! It’s coming soon that I’ll be there. Safe travels Robert and see you on the road to episode 12! 🤟🏻😊🤟🏻
33:00 Is that you Robert singing " Driving to the West", its sounds like your voice. If so, I would gladly pay to see you perform that song in some country bar lol.
Writing his own soundtrack is just one of the many things that sets Robert apart from other travel channels and chroniclers. He has a skillset that blows most other creators out of the water.
I recently discovered Traveling Robert and his fabulous videos and music. Like him putting a sticker on each state he visits, I am going to post this comment on all the videos I watch! You da man, Robert!!
Wow. That campground. Again, I like watching these so I can learn from your experiences. Anyway ... this may be some of your best photography and editing. The highway run is fantastic, including the music ...piano was a great choice.
Sorry about that KOA, Loved the drive thanks, so much enjoyed the scenery without being be hide the wheel. Awesome! I love being the passage sometimes.
Although I didn’t need the inter net it was out when we where there about a week before your experience and like you. We paid a premium price (in our opinion) to stay at that KOA ....with unusable WiFi.
Hello Robert. We you made our day. CO is probably our favorite state to ride the motorcycle in. Heading back next summer and Ouray is a must see for anyone. Thanks for the heads up on that KOA. Will be watching for more. Keep them coming.. Have a Great Evening
wow very nice scenery!! love this part of the country. been through colorado by train twice on the californai zephyer seen alot of this country side on the train
Gracias
Robert... So good to see you have a pickup as a tow vehicle now and got rid of the Kia! Good luck with it!!! I used to pull my small travel trailer with a V6 GMC Sonoma - which was... OK. But once I got into an F250 with a Powerstroke diesel, I couldn't believe the difference!!! Totally carefree!
I know this is late, but KOA needs to hear about this. Unbelievable and unfortunate. I do thank you Robert for you optimistic view of peoples intentions and being able to roll on and still enjoy CO. We need more examples of that.
To not give you service because of "you people' is very rude. I would go to Koa web page and list it as bad. They are butt heads. Great videos. Have an IPA and move on. They are a vexation to ones spirit.
And I thought I was pulling a long rig. This is way cool to see the train. I have really enjoyed your videos. I’m working in Florida but from California so it excites me to see your videos of Florida and the west,
Now that’s a whole lot of familiar sights! Loved watching this after having actually seen about 90% of it in person. Isn’t Colorado amazing? I hope to make it back in the fall someday, as it is supposedly quite a sight to see. Silverton really is a neat place, and we easily found curbside parking with trailer in tow near the end of Greene Street. It is the most intact historic site in America and the whole town is a National Historic Landmark. I do love Ouray too.. it was the quintessential historic mountain town with incredible scenery, hope you get to return there at some point. How fun to see so many of the same things I recorded! I think I enjoy these videos in the mountains and the deserts the most, there is just something extra special about them. Thank you for the tons of work you do to create, grow and share your passion. Keep going… it’s worth it!🤍
Another great video packed with loads of glorious scenery, such a shame you had the bad experience at the KOA, I think you did the right thing by leaving early and letting others know what happened Hopefully you will get back there one day (staying somewhere else) and ride the steam train like you originally planned 🤞
Beautiful country, beautifully photographed. Such a shame you couldn't take the D&SNGRR trip. BTW following the events at the KOA, should this episode be entitled "Robert's Rebellion"? :)
This was seriously one of my favorite vids of yours. The views. The roads. The infotainment of it all. The everything. My favorite videos of yours so far are this one, Death Valley and one of the 3+ hour To the West videos. The Arizona area as well as Utah seems to really stand out as places i want to get to explore, but you've definitely added Colorado as an absolute must! I have lower back problems where i have to use a walker, so walking is pretty taxing on my body, so (just a thought from someone who wants to travel and go sightseeing eventually) if at all possible, do you think you could squeak in some info in your videos about places that are ADA approved or wheelchair accessible? And i have been wanting to try that Vino Seco (spelling) cooking wine now. Everything you've made in videos always looks so good that a Traveling Robert cooking show isn't a bad idea as a separate video series.
I've ridden dozens of steam excursions...take it from me, you did not miss anything not riding the Disneyfied Durango & Silverton. 20 minutes of great scenery in Animas Canyon and three hours of boring ride. The next time you are in the area, stay in Chama and ride the Cumbres and Toltec, run by a non-profit as an operating museum. The climb up and over Cumbres Pass is spectacular, and just when you think you've seen it all, you go through the Toltec gorge, almost as dramatic as Animas Canyon. I had an RV friend who spent most of a summer at the campground on the north side of Chama, right next to the tracks. I hope to make it back someday and hope you also get to experience it too.
Another awesome video Robert. We ended up in Chama after a failed attempt to climb Wolf Creek Pass. It was way off our planned route and was never so glad to see a campground right at dusk. Too bad about the KOA as it looked very nice and as an RF IT guy, I'm a bit puzzled as to their reasoning...unless the are selling their connection. Anyway, great views from places that many RVers won't/can't go. Good to show the benefits of a smaller rig.
Wow some of those road in the high country. Truly not for the faint at heart. Startling the lack of guard rails. I can't imagine driving them in the winter.
Enjoyed the video. I stayed at the Durango North a few times with my family. We had taken the train a few times. Wifi wasn't around when we stayed at the Koa. I have also stayed at the former Duragnoa East koa a few times with family.
OMG my stomach sank a few times watching you on that road with deep cliffs and no guard rails... Very pretty but with my fear of heights I'll never make that trip.. I can't imagine when it snows or black ice making that trip 😲.
Robert, so far this is my favorite trip. The Mountain views and small towns are awsome. That road without the barricades, my wife says no way are we doing that side of the road (lol).
Very cool steam locomotive! Unfortunate situation at the KOA. It is important that you pass on this information to your viewers so that they are aware. Certainly a loss for KOA. Too bad for them. Sad that it set a temporarily tempered tone to your footage. Gorgeous waterfall. 👍 Loved the little towns. Look forward to your stopping in on some of these local establishments in future videos ☺
If you get a chance to go back, there is great boondocking just outside Silverton. You should stay and drive up some back roads to the ghost town of Animas Forks. So worth it!
Great job brother, that campground looked nice. Too bad it’s run by......undesirables to put it nicely. You’ re showing me places on my list for next fall. I can’t wait.
I'm glad I saw this video, I go to Colorado and New Mexico 2 or 3 times a year. I've passed that park before. I'll never stop there. In fact I'm going to pagosa springs and Durango in April if the corona virus doesn't stop me. My vehicle has it's own hot spot. Works great except when you're sandwhiched in a valley between two mountains.
I don't know about anyone else but I saw the campground setup and loved it immediately and thought it is a place I would use in the future (I mean - the chill out spot by the river looks like just what the doctor ordered!) But the odd behavior and treatment because you are using your phone as a hotspot is so old school. My mind is boggled and I would definitely find my own chill place upriver from them! Sheesh! How gorgeous is Colorado, though!
Thank you, and happy travels to you!
Colorado KOA, you want to play rough? Okay, say hello to Robert's 92.5k subs reviews on yelp!
Don't have an RV don't live in America but that camp ground is off my list.. greetings from London UK

Excellent pictures and sound. Thank you for your work put in. Greetings from Bavaria, Germany.
Thank you!
Two videos this week doesn't get much better than that. Now I must add this area to my list of places to see. Just will not be staying at KOA.

Yours is the first factual reply on how wifi works on video.
I have enjoyed your videos. I want to also commend you on your response to difficult people. You have continued to take the high road.
He didn't take the high road. He threatened the campground owner with bad reviews and to tell his followers on social media what happened from his perspective.
The high road would have been a simple, didn't like the campground and leave it at that sort of review

Maybe that wasn't such a good idea.
@@MountainSalsa Whys is that? It brought their racist behavior to the attention of KOA.

I just changed my plans of staying at that KOA in june 2020
Hello Robert. We you made our day. CO is probably our favorite state to ride the motorcycle in. Heading back next summer and Ouray is a must see for anyone. Thanks for the heads up on that KOA. Will be watching for more. Keep them coming.. Have a Great Evening
My wife and I love your show...keep up the good work.
Thank you for affording me the pleasure of seeing this beautiful country vicariously
We need to go back there for a GOOMBA get together!
Thank you Robert for all videos .I’m traveling with you.You are exelent.Drive safely, please.
Zero margin for error on that highway. Thanks again Robert.
wow very nice scenery!! love this part of the country. been through colorado by train twice on the californai zephyer seen alot of this country side on the train
Spectacular Colorado simply amazing and unique landscape! My personal view is that the million $ highway is the best tour!
Gracias
Wow. Thank you for the ride. I've been wanting to do it but haven't made it yet. Awesome views and video. Thanks again.
Trains have whistles, not horns I believe? As usual Robert you're on top of the Game, sharing your keen descrimitive eyes! Thanks!
I’m working in Florida but from California so it excites me to see your videos of Florida and the west,
We just got five acres near alamosa your welcome to camp
Thank you!
Keep going… it’s worth it!🤍
Another great video packed with loads of glorious scenery, such a shame you had the bad experience at the KOA, I think you did the right thing by leaving early and letting others know what happened
Hopefully you will get back there one day (staying somewhere else) and ride the steam train like you originally planned 🤞
beautiful and stunning landscapes!!
Ouray is definitely a destination spot! Ridgeway blew by so fast I guess if you blink you might miss it lol.
Beautiful country, beautifully photographed. Such a shame you couldn't take the D&SNGRR trip. BTW following the events at the KOA, should this episode be entitled "Robert's Rebellion"? :)
Thanks Robert for sharing this with us.....!!!!!🤝
This was seriously one of my favorite vids of yours. The views.
My Home State! 👍 Another great video, you captured it well
That campground....unbelievable
Thank you for another episode of your wonderful travels! Super narration! 😎👍
Even though you didn't get the ultimate positive experience, the video itself is superb as always!!!
I won't patronize this campground. I did like seeing the little town. The scenery was just beautiful of the mountains! Thank you for sharing.
All I can say about your videos is WWWWOOOOWWW WOW. Absolutely beautiful. Have a Merry Christmas.
Thanks for the heads up
I'm glad I saw this video, I go to Colorado and New Mexico 2 or 3 times a year. I've passed that park before. I'll never stop there. In fact I'm going to pagosa springs and Durango in April if the corona virus doesn't stop me. My vehicle has it's own hot spot. Works great except when you're sandwhiched in a valley between two mountains.
Thanks Robert for the info about the KOA in Durango. If I go through there on one of our western trips I will not be staying there.
Planning this trip from Tampa in March thanks Robert
Love that lil town an the senery is so beautiful.safe travels Robert.☺
