"Sir, it appears the fin-helmeted robot was shot to death by Mega Man!" "Well, then, I guess we can say that the Blue Bomber... *sunglasses* dropped the Bass." YEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH
I have to agree with you about MM7 being better than people say it is. At first I had my doubts because of the criticisms, but it wasn't that bad. Plus it had good music. Also, the game is topped off by the enjoyably difficult final Wily form :)
Forgot the second point there, as far as the side-by-side run goes, I myself cannot do those. Shagg's the one that's done all the editting on side-by-side vids. I don't have an editting suite that can do that.
I'm currently researching emus, looking at options of those that actually let you use the real disc. Roms would likely be too large for me to download unless I stayed up to the early hours to use my free download period.
I have to say that Shade Man's regular theme is probably my favorite of the Robot Master themes in this game, with Slash Man a close second. (I don't generally rate Shade Man's alternate theme because it's technically not a Mega Man song, but even if I did, I like the regular theme better.)
Well, he has used robot master weapons and charge shots where they are needed in the past runthroughs, plus I believe there is a video showing all the bosses in MM8 being beaten without chargeshot, so that's totally possible as well.
I think the lashing comes from how it's speed is adjusted. Don't you notice the difference in, say, the hangtime during a jump? I don't care, MM7 is still my second favorite of the bunch. MM&B/R&F is sure going to be tough alright! So will fighting the urge to go CD-collecting, if you're doing straight Perfect Runs. I noticed, even the treasure-hunting aspect of MM7 diverted your attention from that (in spite of not even using what you'd acquired)!
@KurtKokaine1 I had a hard time with the pumpkin miniboss when I fought him. Maybe it's just me. But in any case, by design, beating him so you get an upper path would be harder, yes?
If you mean the joke Kit made me think of, that's the CSI reference. The 60's Batman theme, I had that in mind long ago X) As for a challenge.... hmm..... well that depends on the challenge, what might that be?
Roahm have you ever played Power Fighters? On protoman's ending Dr Light says that there's a defect in his system, the doc wants to fix him but Protoman says no.Hmm so maybe he's not as strong as Megaman like he indicated in this game?
Weird that you found Needle Man one of the hardest. He was a nightmare for me as a kid, but now I'm quite used to jumping between the second and third needles at high jumps and sliding under them all on the low jumps. There's no way he's as bad as Slash Man!
What? I didn't even metion the MegamCSI joke. While I'm at it, helmet-less Protoman looks like on of the characters from Cyborg 009. As far as the challenge goes, it would be a side-by-side run of certain stages.
::shrug:: He is a prototype of Rock, who also has hair, as does Roll for that matter. Dr. Light was, after all, trying to make humanoid housekeeping robots in making Rock and Roll. And that is official art, so yeah... X)
I think I should point out that you can light the room for a quick second with a charge shot in the dark room. It's how you can maneuver it quite well with no special weapons. As for MM8, I'm sure you could probably find a way to record it, and if you need any help try asking around your fans. And as for Megaman&Bass, well, good luck, that's quite easily the hardest Megaman gave I've ever played so far. O__O
I meant what you were saying about "Original 60's Batman theme," I wasn't sure what you were talking about with that. I thought you interpreted that as the joke I mentioned in the description that Kit made me think of.
I'll actually be using the Japanese SNES version, as the GBA game has major slowdown. As for MM8, yeah, it bugs me that I have to do them out of order too, but there's nothing I can do about it. I can't afford the equipment I'd need to record of consoles, as much as I'd love it. It's $70 I don't have and won't have any time in the foreseeable future. As for the ending, I was parodying CSI : Miami. The main actor there is mostly known for his shades. And yes that was official Proto Man art.
@RoahmMythril Does not Needleman are harder. It did seem like you did not try him again more then Quickman. Was it Quickmans stage some did make him harder then Needleman ?
Really, the only improvement the Jafanboy "NES" version makes is having all Robot Masters available at the start. The problem with bifurcating the Robot Masters is that that generally results in a broken weakness loop. Everything else is a regression.
+ZeldaTheSwordsman I'll admit I do prefer the 8 bit visual style for Classic Mega Man, though MM7's visual style is the only upgrade I didn't really mind. I wasn't a big fan of the style of 8 or MM&B, proportions seemed kinda wonky, and the effort to make animations look smoother or more cartoony or whatever they were after, I felt like it more just made things look kind of blurry and indistinct. I'd be pretty okay with a Classic MM game though with the visual style of his render in Smash 4 though. As long as hitboxes are clear, that was the main issue I had with Powered Up.
I personally like the 8/MM&B style, but I get where you're coming from. *shrug* I think with 8 they were maybe going for a cartoonier version of Donkey Kong Country's style. And MM&B looks basically like 8 blended with 7 to my eyes. How would you feel about a Classic Series Mega Man game that was a 3D platformer-shooter, like the Metroid Prime games but 3rd-person? Powered Up did seem a bit wonky. The way it looks, you'd think they'd have gone the "precisely mapped to sprite/model border" route with the hitbox, but obviously they didn't, and there's not a clear indicator of where it actually is or if it changes shape and how it does if so... argh.
+ZeldaTheSwordsman Ehh.... I'd.... really want them to be super careful with making a 3D Mega Man platformer. I mean, I know they did so with one of the X games. Myself, I'm of the school that not everything has to be 3D. I feel like it would mess with the purity of the Mega Man experience. I'm sure it COULD be done, but just mentally I don't think I'd enjoy it quite as much. I'd still at least try it, but it's the same sort of thing with Metroid since you used that as an example. I like the Metroid Prime games, but I'll always prefer 2D Metroid games.
The first time i played shade man's stage I took this path, when I did the part where the platform are hidden I didn't realized that I could use a robot master's weapon to light up the torches :asd: About the weight with a chain that fall from the ceiling, it reminded "Marble Ruins" stages from Sonic the Hedgehog... It was pretty to remember that game :asd:
I personally find the upper path significantly easier than the lower path, but the miniboss is harder to hit on the outside. And yeah...Slash Man is the only one in this game that I can't beat with only the buster.
I remember having sooo much trouble fighting Shade man my first time around. He almost always grabbed me and got his life back. Now a days, he's definitely a cinch once i figured his pattern out. I would've given him maybe a 2 out of ten myself.
Interestingly, because of how much faster everything goes in the FC version (and at any point when he lands or ends an attack, he's guarding), I ended up finding ProtoMan to be immensely difficult and could only really counter while he was jumping. Heh, he feels more Robot Master worthy than Shade Man is, three game overs versus one lost life. Makes me worry about when I finally get around to playing 8 in my own time, PSone or FC version. ^^;
Quick Man is definitely the hardest of them, Needle Man probably second. Slash and Burner I'd say are around the same level. Bright Man is the easiest, but only because I know how his Flash Stopper works now. It's still tricky to time everything correctly for that.
Proto Man: It's dangerous to go alone! Take this! *DUH NUH NUH NUH* *You got Protoshield!* Also, question. Out of the Robot Masters who got ten (Non-revenge Elec Man, Quick Man, Needle Man, Bright Man, Slash Man, Burner Man, maybe some others), could you list them in terms of which was the hardest 10 to the easiest 10?
Even if he could record MM8, buster-only/uncharged is not gonna happen in that one. Try to Perfect-run the intro stage. Or SearchMan's/SwordMan's, without using master weapons. It just isn't happening. BurnerMan's level is gonna be tough to get through... but at least he's no QuickMan! DynamoMan will probably give you hell, too. Maybe you should work from the lower path, up.
well, you did it right dragon, good job indeed one thing i must say, you're not skipping megaman eigth...it is said that is the halfway point between 7 and 8 (tough, i don't get it...tenguman wants revenge...) oh well, good luck with coldman and the others... -see unmasked protoman- leave the shades under the visor...THE FREAKIN HAIR!!! it is more...more.....than terra's fabulous hair...protoman...get the helmet on again...you look cooler that way...
I still plan to do it, I'm just not in the mood to work on Perfect Runs right now. Generally, I'm not a big fan of the fortress stages in MM games, I don't find them nearly as fun as the Robot Master stages, so originally, I didn't plan to do them at all. I just have to be in the right mood to want to work on them so they're fun for me and not just a chore to slog through.
If you beat final Wily at Mega man 7 without taken hit you very probably are the best Mega man player ever lived at earth. That Wily is super cheap, annoying and very difficult to avoid.
"Sir, it appears the fin-helmeted robot was shot to death by Mega Man!"
"Well, then, I guess we can say that the Blue Bomber... *sunglasses* dropped the Bass."
YEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH
+Leet 1337 Google "Dubstep Man" :3
+ZeldaTheSwordsman I've seen it before.
OOOH YEAH
I have to agree with you about MM7 being better than people say it is. At first I had my doubts because of the criticisms, but it wasn't that bad. Plus it had good music.

I know you take things at your own pace, but looking forward to when you come back to do the Fortress stages for this one!
@KurtKokaine1
I had a hard time with the pumpkin miniboss when I fought him. Maybe it's just me. But in any case, by design, beating him so you get an upper path would be harder, yes?
ZOMG giving Mega Man and Proto Man distinct movesets/styles without removing any of Mega Man's moves? What madness is this?
If you mean the joke Kit made me think of, that's the CSI reference. The 60's Batman theme, I had that in mind long ago X) As for a challenge.... hmm..... well that depends on the challenge, what might that be?
Roahm have you ever played Power Fighters? On protoman's ending Dr Light says that there's a defect in his system, the doc wants to fix him but Protoman says no.Hmm so maybe he's not as strong as Megaman like he indicated in this game?
Not sure but I believe it was a piece of fan art. Check the gallery at Roahm's website.
Weird that you found Needle Man one of the hardest. He was a nightmare for me as a kid, but now I'm quite used to jumping between the second and third needles at high jumps and sliding under them all on the low jumps. There's no way he's as bad as Slash Man!
Whenever I enter Protoman's room, he isn't there. Does anybody know how to get Protoman to show up?
What? I didn't even metion the MegamCSI joke. While I'm at it, helmet-less Protoman looks like on of the characters from Cyborg 009.
As far as the challenge goes, it would be a side-by-side run of certain stages.
Aye, when I get to MM&B, I'm thinking after doing the perfect run series, I might do a collection series to show where all the CDs are.
::shrug:: He is a prototype of Rock, who also has hair, as does Roll for that matter. Dr. Light was, after all, trying to make humanoid housekeeping robots in making Rock and Roll. And that is official art, so yeah... X)
@hypnometal not harder, just slightly longer.
I think I should point out that you can light the room for a quick second with a charge shot in the dark room. It's how you can maneuver it quite well with no special weapons.

Protoman gets stunned by charged shots. Don't know if you knew, but IMO it makes the boss much easier...
Man, that stupid dark room destroyed me. I had to continue quite a few times to remember the platform positioning during my buster only run.
I'll actually be using the Japanese SNES version, as the GBA game has major slowdown. As for MM8, yeah, it bugs me that I have to do them out of order too, but there's nothing I can do about it. @RoahmMythril Does not Needleman are harder. It did seem like you did not try him again more then Quickman. Was it Quickmans stage some did make him harder then Needleman ?
He probably does, but one part of the Perfect Run rules is you're not allowed charge shots.
Original 60's Batman theme, you mean?
Also, I just had this crazy idea. How about a challenge?
6:21 - The groundwork for Resident Evil was laid here...
Really, the only improvement the Jafanboy "NES" version makes is having all Robot Masters available at the start. The problem with bifurcating the Robot Masters is that that generally results in a broken weakness loop.

I believe this is the only game where Megaman can use the Protoshield.
I want to say I found all the giant bolts in the MM7 Extra Material vid.
I personally find the upper path significantly easier than the lower path, but the miniboss is harder to hit on the outside. And yeah...Slash Man is the only one in this game that I can't beat with only the buster.

Right, that's the whole challenge, using weapons and charges only where absolutely neccessary, so we'll see what happens ;)
you know after reading the first issue of Gigamix i love Shademan even more
Gilliam Knights? Named after Terry Gilliam from Monty Python and the Holy Grail?
Interestingly, because of how much faster everything goes in the FC version (and at any point when he lands or ends an attack, he's guarding), I ended up finding ProtoMan to be immensely difficult and could only really counter while he was jumping.

@hypnometal that mini-boss is easy, what's wrong with you?
Quick Man is definitely the hardest of them, Needle Man probably second. Slash and Burner I'd say are around the same level. Bright Man is the easiest, but only because I know how his Flash Stopper works now. It's still tricky to time everything correctly for that.
@RoahmMythril hey wait what about an amazing fan gam in development by entertainmentftw megaman eternal it looks amazing
WHERE DID YOU GET THAT PIC AT THE END? THAT IS SO HILARIOUS!!!
Shoulda gone with the song "I wear sunglasses at night" for protoman lol
Proto actually has one more extra point of health than the other bosses. and the special weapons only do 1 point of damage to him.
He gives a difficulty rating based on how hard it is to clear the stage and the boss with only the Mega Buster, WITHOUT ANY damage.
Now the real challenge, do the final boss perfect!
1:57 a Peanuts reference... that's a rarity when it comes to references.
@RoahmMythril I guess Bright Man wasn't really hard to begin with, just cheap.
@SilentDragonite149
Yes
I've heard of it, maybe I'll see about it eventually, we'll see.
The best thng about the protoshield is it kills mini Pipies on contact.
@SilentDragonite149 hes just that awesome
Proto Man: It's dangerous to go alone! Take this!
*DUH NUH NUH NUH* *You got Protoshield!*
Also, question. Out of the Robot Masters who got ten (Non-revenge Elec Man, Quick Man, Needle Man, Bright Man, Slash Man, Burner Man, maybe some others), could you list them in terms of which was the hardest 10 to the easiest 10?
Roahm, why not do Megaman 8 on an emulator? I have a rom of it.
Megaman
Gets flattened: Fine
Touches a spike: Deaded
Even if he could record MM8, buster-only/uncharged is not gonna happen in that one. Try to Perfect-run the intro stage. Or SearchMan's/SwordMan's, without using master weapons. It just isn't happening.
BurnerMan's level is gonna be tough to get through... but at least he's no QuickMan! DynamoMan will probably give you hell, too. Maybe you should work from the lower path, up.
Only 1 out of 10? Wouldn't he get at least one more for that pumpkin miniboss? (Especially trying to beat him to get the upper path?) ;-)
Lemme know if it works. lol
How about Frankenstein man DWN the enemies are witches swamp monster ghost batton Dracula Astro zombieg
This sounds intriguing.... X)
I've never heard about that one.
Hmm, I could have sworn I'd mentioned that...
I may be mistaken, but...
Revisit CloudMan's stage and let the baby Pipi crash into the ProtoShield... ;)
well, you did it right dragon, good job indeed
one thing i must say, you're not skipping megaman eigth...it is said that is the halfway point between 7 and 8 (tough, i don't get it...tenguman wants revenge...)
oh well, good luck with coldman and the others...
-see unmasked protoman- leave the shades under the visor...THE FREAKIN HAIR!!! it is more...more.....than terra's fabulous hair...protoman...get the helmet on again...you look cooler that way...
Why didn't you play the rest of this game? Is it because it's impossible to do it with no damage?
I still plan to do it, I'm just not in the mood to work on Perfect Runs right now. Generally, I'm not a big fan of the fortress stages in MM games, I don't find them nearly as fun as the Robot Master stages, so originally, I didn't plan to do them at all. RoahmMythril I totally understand. The Mega Man games can be brutal. Keep up the good work.
I didn't know you kept responding to comments on semi-old videos!
...Proto Man wears SHADES underneath his viser?
@TARINunit9 actually, he's no. 000, so he still loses, lol.
7:37
Next time, Mega man, Look before you leap, oh, and don't look too long.
I always knew Megaman was the better model, I mean what other robots can take the ability of other robots
Roahm Mega Man 7 Dr.Wily Stage Perfect Run
Megaman dont worry, he has an unstable core that will kill himsoon anyway just take the shield
If you beat final Wily at Mega man 7 without taken hit you very probably are the best Mega man player ever lived at earth. That Wily is super cheap, annoying and very difficult to avoid.
i used a cheat to get ever thing i this.
Maybe protoman and shademan are dating, sorry had to....
