I actually did a perfect run of Slash Man in German class last year. It was not fun in the slightest after the first 400 attempts, but after like three days I finally did it. Looking back at this video, I can't imagine having to talk and do the stage along with Slash Man...and that's why I respect you Roahm lmao.
@@ianleather5699I know I'm 6 years late to answer but it was legit the only class in that grade I could use my laptop in most days. I'd have too much homework to do it at home so I just did my attempts then. 🤣
Also, as an addendum to my original comment; recently I got into Achievement hunting retro games using RetroAchievements, and had to do a Slash Man perfect run again for one of them. It was just as unfun as I remember, though my Mega Man skills have grown to a point that I could do it in only a few hours and less than 100 attempts! :D
@@Zivko_ lol very nice, I had my laptop in my classes when I wrote that and would play idle games while listening to a lecture, so doing something as involved as a perfect run is very impressive
Your comment about not condoning Yoshi sacrificing makes a Yoshi fan happy. Poor Yoshi ;_; Smacked on the head to eat things, carrying a big fat plumber all over the place, and that is his reward. And you made the boss look easier than it apparantly was, I almost feel bad for enjoying the out-takes this time.
Indeed yes, he can reflect your shots with the Slash Claw. As best as I can tell, you cannot do so with the Slash Claw once you have it, I tried doing so against Mets and such, but it didn't reflect shots.
This one took quite a few tries. It actually took about 36 recording attempts, mostly on a day where my online friends were off doing other things, so I had little else to do during the day. Beyond that, just practicing Slash Man himself off camera, I only managed to beat him around 3 times out of about 80. So yeah, this one was hard X)
@SS4519 I'm mostly referring to the tar here. The only pattern that stuff seems to have is that if you need to go somewhere, it will fall there. Having fought him about 700 times at this point though, he can really do what he wants. If he wants to break the pattern of how he jumps, he will. If he wants to drop down from the wall instead of charging, he will. Granted, he's not that bad without the tar (easy, even)...but you still need to deal with the tar 10-12 times before you win.
The only slight pattern is that he jumps up to the walls after I believe two shots. From there, randomness strikes. The tar falls randomly, and it's not even certain if he'll do his charging dash from the wall, or if he'll just drop. Thus, there's not really a pattern that makes him any easier.
MM1 - 3 MM2 - 4 MM3 - 8 MM4 - 7 MM5 - 6 MM6 - 6 MM7 - 7 MM8 - 2 MM9 - 10 MM10 - 9 MM&B - 8 I know people will disagree with my low rating for MM2, but that one is seriously broken, there is no sense of balance in that one given how easily the Metal Blade destroys most bosses. One could make the argument that the Triple Blade is highly useful in 10, but still, not THAT broken.
Now that Mega Man 11 exists, I wonder what you'd rate that one. But I'm sure we'll find out one day in the future when those perfect runs finally happen =)
Well you're not wrong in lack of balance of the MM2 weapons. Metal blade is too overpowered and most of the other weapons are mediocre or just bad. Atomic fire, bubble lead, and also the time stopper aren't all that viable and the crash bomber feels more of the utility than an actual weapon. And I guess air shooter and leaf shield are just middle of the road for me though the leaf shield isn't really a shield that can block plus it flies off every time you move (not when you jump or fire though). And I think quick boomerang's actually kinda decent but of course the metal blade overshadows that weapon too.
This is also true of Burst Man. It's basically so that, in addition to each set of four Robot Masters having their own sub loop, there is an overreaching weakness loop for all eight Robot Masters, Burst and Slash being interchangeable in their positions.
You know, I was just trying this kind of thing this last weekend. And OMFG, it's soooo frustrating/hard! I never really noticed how much I used to rely on master weapons and utilities until I tried without using any of them. Out of all of MMs 5-7 (since I tried working backwards), there's only a couple I managed to get, narrowly. YamatoMan, KnightMan, TomahawkMan, and StoneMan, and even those took as many as 10 lives each. Really, try doing just one of these stages like he does. Amazing.
I think it IS random, but for one, they drop 5 at a time, unlikely they're ALL going to miss. And two, even if they DO miss, they create the persistent foot-sticking hazard, anyways. It's what they call, in bad business terms, a "win-win." Also, I had no idea it could reflect shots, either. Can Rock use it that way, too? The only "extra" about it I know, is that it gets a dedicated animation. *shrugs*
I'm probably stopping after Shade Man, the rest falls under the category of Wily stages, which I don't normally do. Maybe if I get really bored sometime or such, but yeah, I don't like the thought of having to go through Slash Man again in the rematch room, or dealing with the Wily Capsule X)
Patience, lots of patience X) As for my accent changing, I didn't realize it was? I think basically I've just gotten more energy as I've been doing more of these videos, and have more found my natural rythem, I think the first few, I really still wasn't even sure what I was doing X)
One thing I do like about fighting Slash Man is the detail of bits of metal coming off of Mega when he gets slashed, but not if you run into him or get dive bombed. It's a small detail, like X's heavy breathing when at low health in Chill Penguin's stage causing the 'smokey breath' like in real life when it's cold.
Though it doesn't affect Robot Masters or bosses in general, the distance at which you use the Slash Claw affects its attack power. It's pretty much insta-kill at point-blank range but at the max range, it's even weaker than the buster.
@freakingouttoad There's also Needle Man, Bright Man, Burner Man and Tengu Man (MM+B). And the Boss Rematch room from MM2, but that's partly Quick Man's fault.
Keep in mind, Mega Man 2 has Quick Man, which caused me a lot of trouble. MM6, I got through that one pretty quickly really, nothing really slowed me down, no one struck me as a nightmare boss there.
So am I the only one that noticed a slight pattern with where he comes down with the dives? Look at which wall he kicks off last: He'll come sliding down the opposite wall. Using that might be able to help keep you at least a good distance away from him during that dive attack, which seemed to cause the most trouble.
Hey look... it's Wolverine... heh... I just had to do that one... Wow. I never thought Slash Man would be so difficult, at least the goops of tar don't hurt you. Good job.
@RoahmMythril How can you say it's dull when you can fight those interesting eight robot masters again, you can hear great music in the wily stages....and see wily bow down to you! Also Megaman 7 has THE BEST ENDING EVER!
So...which bosses do you think would be the polar opposites of nightmares? Out of all the ones that got only 1/10, which were the easiest 1's and which were the hardest?
1:10 - Those flying tube things are actually called Go-Bots? HAHAHAHAHA! 1:20 - Nice gag about the Yoshi Sacrifice. 3:35 - I always figured it was amber, like what encased the mosquitoes for the DNA in Jurassic Park. Tar makes sense too, though. Though from now on, I'll call it "Bob." 5:22 - I never tried hitting him with the Freeze Cracker when he's heading up the wall, though it's usually because I'd previously used it on the ground and he was still invulnerable.
On this one, I actually wasn't even sure what I was going to use as a Shade Man intro until the last minute. I figured since I'd be using the G'nG theme, that would be a good enough intro ;)

Switch MM3 & 4, and lower MM7 a bit and that's my list (though I don't think I dislike MM8 that much)
@Kevvl14 take a second look. he always does the same thing every time. first he jumps two or three times, slashing at you all those times, then leaps onto the opposite wall and basically does a triangle jump. from there, he sends down those...i'll just call them tar bombs. granted, those seem to come down kinda randomly. after 5 of those drops, he comes down the wall a little and charges up. he then charges at you with a charge attack. the pattern then repeats itself every time
You should see my REVENGE vid against Elec Man. Finding out his secret makes him very easy. Ice Man only manages to be the most annoying at that point because the space between his Ice Slashers can be tricky to get through sometimes.

Slash Man is more spastic, but Bright Man has a lot to keep track of if you want to keep him from using the Flash Stopper.
