Doug Stanhope is a legend.
Everyone is a "offended" anymore... this guy's brain is AWESOME, and is spot on.
I'm so glad this generation has someone like Doug. He's fucking hilarious, but he's also insightful and speaks to (actual) power. George Carlin, Bill Hicks, and Doug Stanhope are my favorite comedians who speak truth to power really well imo.
He's right. It's pretty hard to sleep sober
The last time I consistently slept sober was 30 years ago.
I was sober for 15 years then something happened....I turned 16
He's talking about me - right?
Hey Lee, I like your style. You should promote that new butter alternative product I heard about "What do you mean reality is subjective??"
I miss being able to sleep sober
i will try that two days later. wish me luck.
How'd it go?
@@rcharmel9316 it was not really a succesful attempt. funny tho i wrote this 9 months ago and you just answered. it's my 3rd week without alcohol or non-prescribed drugs now (i'm trying to do a 3 month break) first week was a nightmare in general, last week i had problem sleeping, i tried camomile tea by gallons, magnesium pills, finally had to take 0.25 mgs of xanax at night. this week i added exercising a bit. it's almost a natural sleep for these few days. i actually think i might finish this run.
How is it going now (2024)? You ok?
@@theripper1705 did the 3 month brake. now back on the wagon.
edit; sorry, my bad. english is not my first language. "off the wagon" for now. will try a 6 month sober next year if i'll be still alive. cheers.
most important comedian in history, and every legit comic knows it.
Bahahaha
Sleeping with someone helps. No way I can do it alone n sober, mind goes to the worst possible places.
Is this show on any of his albums?
That is "No Refunds", I think. Also definitely check out "Before Turning the Gun on Himself"
Yea that was shortly before George Carlin passed away, lots of people believe Doug carried on his legacy. The truth hurts but it has to be told somehow.
Kinda getting Ron White vibes from Doug. Seriously funny!
More like, they both did...
Doug Stanhope would have played a great Beatle juice! he is already that character.
😂
He looks too good for a the drinking & smoking. I call BS
How come he's a comedian, but hes not funny? I thought comedians were supposed to be funny. Maybe it's because he's drunk?
If U don't find Doug funny then you must have no sense of humor
He is not very well known. He's unpopular. Most people don't like talkative drunks much. He appeals to the chug a lug beer drinking types from the local college. They think he's daring and profound.
But he's just another talkative drunk.
@@LeeZaslofsky lol you have no idea about comedy so please don't talk, next thing you will say is carlin was not funny and Chapelle is no good lol
Carlin was very funny, and very honest. I've never seen Chapelle.
My friends all say I'm very humorous, witty, and an all around great guy.
But Stanhope is a pathetic person with a substance abuse problem, and he's not funny at all.
@@LeeZaslofsky you sound jealous and he is funny and everyone I know that's knows him feels the same..sorry...not sorry
