Trenton's descriptions are absolutely amazing!! "It smells like the inside of a vacuum cleaner" is my favorite!! That being said he knew A was a low proof rye. He outright called C from the nose. And he knew D was a malted whiskey and picked up the sherry. Kudos.

That was hilarious. When you started with the Widow Jane, I thought, "hey, I have that bottle!" I kind of like that one, so when Trenton started describing it as pencil shavings and PVC I then thought, "No way." So I ran and grabbed it, opened it up, started smelling it and sure enough... somebody sharpened a pencil in it. I still like it though, lol

My favourite bourbon/whiskey channel on YT.
There are 40 gazillion whisky channels out there, but most I can't stand and very few qualify as one of my favorites. They're all either showing off, or they're boring. SLB Drinks is right at the top, and it's because y'all aren't trying to make some sort of impression nor are y'all boring. I think I've said it before, but y'all are just regular guys having 10 tons of fun with whisky and with each other. Y'all's interaction is just right. Keep up the good work. 🙂

Trenton, get some Tilex Mold and Mildew Remover for your shower. Spray generously and leave the room for 15 minutes. When you come back, it'll be magically gone. Fumes are pretty noxious and don't let it get on your hands or they'll smell like chlorine for an hour (better yet, wear gloves). Works great on toilets too.
Black mold can cause serious respiratory problems too. Agree with Tilex comment.
Amen, it is serious stuff.

Hysterical tasting notes Trenton! 100% agree on all. I have to say that while I do like some Dickel selections, the Tobasco finish goes down for me as the worst Bourbon I've ever tasted.. Definitely a drain pour! I just got a bottle of the newer Widow Jane Applewood Rye (without used oak) and I'll be interested to see how it compares.

Poor Trenton!
The only thing that Dickel Tabasco finish is good for in my opinion is cooking. Medium steak with a bourbon cream sauce. I use WT101 for it but the Dickle Tabasco would add some subtle heat in the back end with some fresh cracked black pepper

I had requested a Basil Hayden review in the past. I think this is the 1st BH product I've seen you review. Vacuum cleaner, dusty, moldy, a bit odd... glowing comments if ever there were. 😂
On a serious note, kill that black mold at home. Worked in a place that sustained water damage that produced black mold years ago. Never had sinus issues prior to that, have had ever since.
This was hilarious! I needed that after this week. Thanks gentlemen. I don't appreciate scotch either (pond water) and I love rye. I realize this was German whisky and not scotch, but I imagine its similar. I love tobasco, but I won't try this one because it's Dickel.

Well, Kurt pretty much nailed the notes on everything 👏 . Of course knowing in advance may have helped! Glad Trenton didn't have to chug that nasty Tabasco Dickel. It truly is so bad. I tried putting it in baked beans but nope - just ruined the beans.
Kurt picking the single malt, and Trenton favoring a rye was a foreseeable given.

It's funny how some finished whiskeys are so bad that that just ruin anything that they touch. I have one that I tried drowning in coke, and the damned feet smell and taste _still_ came through. Ruined otherwise good coca cola. 😂
When color is an issue in blinds, you might want to consider black or dark Glen cairn glassware. Thanks again for the great episodes.

The finish to this one was hilarious. Can't wait to see what the payback will be from Trenton. And when Kurt almost shot the Dickel Tabasco out of his nose....that might have really burned! I can't imagine why you would want a whiskey finished with Tabasco.

@@johnhicks8626 That sounds absolutely horrid, though I'm not a fan of vodka bloody marys either. It's a bizarre whisky creation by Dickel but that was my thought too, that they had in mind people wanting to make bloody marys with it. There are multiple flavored vodkas that were made with that in mind.

You guys need to do some american single malts....My palate is more similar to Trentons and I'm not a huge fan of Scotch. However, I have had some American Single Malts from NC & TX that I have liked. More American distilleries are giving it a go.
I have been collecting American single malt bottles for a year now! Planning on a series.

There is a marsala and a cream marsala that you use for cooking, but there is marsala for apritif

Trent you are spending your life savings on whiskey😅😅. He should have put at least one delicious bourbon in there haha. Kurt's got at least 20k in his basement. Too many whiskeys that can go to waste or just not taste as good after a few months in my opinion. Im down to three or four because opening and collecting too many just doesn't make sense
