I picked the Angels Envy Finished Rye as soon as you said you got a pecan note. For me, it’s like drinking pecan pie. Love it.

How about a blind between two matching bourbons. One bottle opened immediately for the tasting but the second matching bourbon bottle has been opened, neck pour removed for two weeks to see if you can taste if neck pour is different than the one that has had time to open up.

There is no way I'm believing he thought Nulu Toasted was Angels Envy in rum cask.... Angels Envy has so much more viscosity & taste like desert with a dash of Rye. Nulu toasted lets you 100% know its Rye but with a bit of deserty flavor to it.
P.S. Love the content yall, you guys are in my top 3 whiskey channels I follow.

I really like the Angels Envy Rye but not often because it is a bit heavy. The note I always get is nutmeg, which isn't too far from the clove note Trenton was getting. It's kind of Christmasy to me.
I have a bottle of the Cask Strength Stranahan's that I can barely finish. It tastes like gasoline - I have to make Manhattan's with it.
The additives in angels envy rye make it weird outside of a fitting context. Its very strangely sweet when compared to bottles around it.
I did buy a Birthday Cake Vodka from Sam's Club. Limited and I couldn't believe it tasted just like that confetti cake.😋😋😋

For what it's worth, there are at least a couple of (artificially) flavored cake whiskies out there, they're at the Total Wine & More chain stores. The demand for that limited Glenmorangie was very high and availability was scarce, I looked into it a while ago now. I think it also came in at $150-200. I'll stick to the cheap artificial stuff.🎂🥃
Picked up an Angels Envy rum finished rye for $65 last week... it's a rum bomb. Not really much rye spice in my bottle so I find it interesting how strong of a clove and rye tasting and nose you both got on the bottle. My bottle might just need to open up (your bottle has plenty of air in it) before the rye comes up out of the rum finish. It's OKAY but I didn't love it and I wouldn't pick it up again even at the discounted $65 I paid for it. Maybe as a $40 bottle I would use it as a mixer because it was a unique subtle rum taste with the slightest rye note.
Because it doesnt say straight on the bottle they can add 2.5% by volume additives. Its not a rum bomb, it just has something in it yhat makes it super sweet. Theyll tell you if you email them.
