If you can’t find mirin or sake in your city, you can substitute them like this👇 For 1 tbsp mirin use either: 1 tbsp sake + 1/2 tsp sugar or 1 tbsp white wine + 1/2 tsp sugar For 1 tbsp sake use: 1 tbsp mirin or 1 tbsp white wine It won’t be exactly the same, but still works 😋
Could you make a video about different types of rolled omletes? And any tips on how to roll them nicely? I tried to do it before but I always end up with scrambled eggs instead. I also want to add some vegetables but I don't want that to ruin the rolling...
I tried the miso mayo cucumber and the stewed bell peppers. They were excellent, so much so that I polished them off all by myself. Next time I'll have to make double the recipe so the family can enjoy it, too.
ありがと ございます sister,I'm studying Japanese for 3 months and I want collect maximum cultural thing about Japan, now I'm inspired by you. Don't look back keep going. Make lot lot Japanese culture videos. I think you're missing Japan isn't it ?😁👍🏻
Thank you so much for the comment! It's really hard to keep posting videos without lots of views, but your comment made me motivated. Can't appreciate enough 😭 Thank you!
You cannot beat sun-ripened avocado and tomatoes for flavour! Such fruits are scarce in the UK, especially now post-Brexit. These sides sound amazing, I can't wait to give them a try!
My interest in the Japanese language brought me here to your channel. Thank you for making the recipes less complicated than the language 😂😂😂. A new subscriber now and hope to learn more about the Japanese food from you. ありがとうございました🌺
Oh wow, so you are living in Spain? Did your husband and yourself have to learn Spanish before moving there? I will definitely be trying out these side dishes, they look amazing. Buena suerte en España スペインで頑張ってください
I fell in love with your channel! All the recipes seems to be so easy to make, I surely wanna try at least your onigiri recipe in the future! :)) Keep posting more recipes, please
These dishes are interesting. Whether it's authentic Japanese or a spin, love it. I'm new to your channel. Will try some of the sides during the hols. Thank you for the share.
Hello, i love your Channel 💛 I'm addicted to the cabbage sesame salad. I discovered it this year, they now sell it (in very little servings and very expensive price 😯) with sushis in supermarkets here (in my area in France). I don't know what kind of industrial dressing they use but it's super delicious, very sweet and sesamy, i don't know how they do this kind of Black Magic 😁. Now I want to do it myself 💪 Recently i saw, in my usual asian supermaket, a giant bottle of Kikkoman sesame dressing 🤯 do you know it, is it good? I will try your receipe for this salad for sure, and many others too, I tried miso soup and it was very nice ❤️ thanks a lot and keep on sharing 🌞🌞🌞
Thanks for uploading this video.. It was very useful and easy to follow.. by the way, your eggplant size was very big… in Bangkok..it’s quite small haha
These all look so good. By the way, would you ever consider doing a video on how you came to move to Spain? And is it permanent or temporary? Have you learned Spanish? Is your boyfriend Japanese or Spanish or something else? Again, the food looks so good. I am going to go make the cucumber dish right now, in fact!
These look delicious! I've been looking for a new cucumber salad recipe and I can't wait to try this one, although it's so hard to find good cucumbers in America :( I think this eggplant recipe will also be a winner, since I have recently converted my family to liking eggplant and want to keep serving it. Thank you for the lovely video!!
Yea for USA the best cucumbers are prob those mini “salad cucumbers” I’ve seen being sold or the long English ones. Or during the summer time when you can see pickleing cucumbers being sold (they are better cause the seeds are small and they never wax those!)
Some ingredients you use in your recipes are difficult to find outside of Spain and , particularly, Japan - could you give some alternatives that could be substituted instead (eg your green peppers)?😊
Are children taught to cook by their families, in school or both? And would I correctly assume in most cases parents pass their food-related business down to their children?
The food is Spain is good. The problem is you. Your palate is Japanese and naturally you will be used to the foods in your country. So do not compare foods in Japan to Spain. You do not have pasta negra in Japan and you will never be able to come close to carracoles and paella. Be careful or you will be criticised for bigotry. A lot of Japanese are bigots and racists and they do not want to acknowledge it.Your food is just as good as any other country.
Hello, thank you for the comment. I post videos about Japanese cooking, but I do love Spanish food. I always go to Spanish restaurants or bars to enjoy the food. I totally agree that Japanese food is not special at all. I wanted to say if I cook Japanese food with the local ingredients, like vegetables and meat, sometimes the dish will become different from what I cook in Japan. I think it’s normal because the ingredients are different. I don’t say the ingredients are not good in Spain, (they’re actually more fresh and delicious! ) they’re just different. Anyway I just wanted say I love Spanish food, people, weather and culture, etc, I am very sorry if my video led to a misunderstanding. Thank you so much for the feedback 😊
Wow, calm down! I don't think it was necessary for you to be so defensive and critical of Yuka! She's just sharing recipes, not trying to start a war. As a Spanish person myself, what she said didn't come off as racist or bigoted to me at all -- perhaps you were looking for the negative? I don't know either of you, but I wanted to stand up for Yuka because what you wrote was unexpected, unnecessary, and hurtful.
I agree with the other commenter, this was way over a reasonable reaction. If you move to another country, I’m sure you are missing the foods from your home country. Other countries food is good too, but you can’t beat that comfort and familiarity of the food you grew up with. It’s gonna be same with you too.
'The problem is you.'........and that sums YOU up perfectly. Maybe you didn't mean to sound so unacceptably harsh and judgmental, but you did. I didn't take Yuka's comment to be disparaging of Spanish food AT ALL but rather that some JAPANESE recipes made with Spanish ingredients don't taste the same. Rice is a very good example of this - risotto, paella and sushi are all made with short grain rice BUT it has to be the correct variety of rice or the recipe won't turn out well. Yuka is also Japanese, writing in ENGLISH and probably learning Spanish as well - so cut her some slack there too! I really enjoyed this video and learned something. If you don't feel the same way there are plenty of other options on YT. Cheers from Australia.
@@yuka_jp 'I totally agree that Japanese food is not special at all.' GOSH!! I *totally DISAGREE* with that! ALL cultures have special and unique foods from quiche to kimchi to hamburgers to lasagna to curry to Yorkshire pudding........and the list goes on and on! So many uniquely Japanese dishes are SO delicious, like miso soup and sushi for starters and Japanese cooking is outstanding for it's quite specific techniques, ingredients - and beautiful presentation. Even a simple thing like rolled omelet is uniquely Japanese. I think it's one of the truly great culinary heritages of the world along with French, Italian, Indian, Chinese, Korean - and Spanish. All very different, all very unique and all very special in their own right. THANK YOU for capturing that Japanese heritage in a way we can all try with the ingredients we can easily get wherever we live. Cheers!

I’m muslim so I can’t use mirin and sake cuz they hv alcohol,, do u hv any other substitutions rec?
My teenager decided that she is vegetarian. So i am going to try your recipe tomorrow. I hope she likes it. 😊
Bonito powder or bonito flakes is not for vegetarians
So glad to find your channel! Those recipes are amazing!

These sides sound amazing, I can't wait to give them a try!
There's plenty of both - try Waitrose or city street markets.

I don't know where you live in Spain. You can find that tipe of Japanese omelette pan in any kitchen ware shop.
If one wants to omit both sake and mirin, any alternative else? Just white vinegar, perhaps? Thx
Se podría usar mayo española en la ensalada de pepino,la de col y la de aguacate?
😅
Can i use vinegar instead of Mirin and skip Sake for Eggplant steak?
Some ingredients you use in your recipes are difficult to find outside of Spain and , particularly, Japan - could you give some alternatives that could be substituted instead (eg your green peppers)?😊
Is your sesame oil toasted sesame oil?
Can you make a video with vegetarian or vegan recipies?
what kind of miso are you using?
Are children taught to cook by their families, in school or both? And would I correctly assume in most cases parents pass their food-related business down to their children?
Pardon , PATA NEGRA AKA JAMON IBERICO… La comida espanola es mas sofistcada de algunas … como la Japonesa?
Yes, Spanish food is very sophisticated 😊
