Hi. I just wanted to say thank you for making this video. I am morbidly obese and I haven't exercised in a long time. I am 53 years old and I think I can do this because I am not getting any younger. God bless from Kingston,Ontario Canada
Hi Lola, I am so happy to read you are starting with exercise. Congratulations on taking that first step (that's the hardest part). If you look under my playlists, you'll find similar workouts under 'true beginner'. I am so happy to have you join me. Btw, I lived in Kingston for 3 years about 25 years ago...beautiful city.
Praying for your weight loss journey 🙏 😊
This is great..thank you i am 76yrs as this is so good good me xx
Thank you for this just perfect exercise for my 84 years old husband with 3/4 lung capacity! He was out of breath for a while, we stop and pushed play to continue 😅 he says thank you to you and we just subscribed for more senior walking with you! Merci from grateful seniors living in France 🇫🇷
Merci beaucoup! Welcome to my channel and thank you for subscribing! Just to help you navigate the channel, I create 3 levels of workouts (gentle, beginner and intermediate) and categorize them all into the playlists. If you enjoyed this one, you can find plenty more at this same level under the 'gentle level' playlists. I hope you and your husband enjoy more of the workouts when you try them out!
This felt so good on this old body. I am rehabbing from spinal surgery and it's taking longer because it's winter. Can't walk outside because Dr. said to keep my back warm.
I am happy to read you are continuing to move after major surgery...so important to keep moving. I'm very happy to know my workouts are helping.
I love this! I have COPD and did it! Love the timer....helps so much!
I'll be making more gentle walking workouts soon.
Hello! I discovered this yesterday and it’s perfect for me. I’m recovering from shoulder surgery after a fall 4 months ago and haven’t been able to do my usual daily walking routine. Clear and precise instructions, in a warm and friendly manner.
My only request would be the option for subtitles as I have a hearing loss and have to depend on lip reading/subtitles. Thank you! 💕
Thanks so much for your feedback, Jane. I will keep the subtitles in mind (I'm often strapped for time due to working full-time as well as doing YT). I will try to find the time for the future gentle walks. Just so you know, I create 3 levels of workouts (gentle, beginner and intermediate). You can find all of the gentle level workouts together under the 'gentle level' playlists.
This workout is perfect for someone who hasn't exercised in quite a while and is trying to get back in shape. It's just enough. Thank you for posting it!
Thanks Gordon! I put a new video out today that might work well for you, too. It's a gentle workout as well. Congrats for starting to exercise again. 💗
That's me to a tee. Xx
I really enjoyed this video. I'm 79 and working currently to do three 10 minute walking videos daily, followed by breathing exercises. The goal is to bring my blood pressure to a consistent normal level. Loved the music and simplicity of this workout. Thank you.
I love your plan of doing three 10 minute videos. That is a fantastic plan. I also wrote a blog post about 2 minute movement periods every hour (if that interests you). It's a great way to move throughout the day to add up steps. Thanks for letting me know that you enjoyed this one. You can find all of my workouts categorized on my website as well (www.improvedhealthforseniors.com).
I am in recovery after knee surgery and this is perfect thank you
Thanks Andie. If you go to my playlists, you'll find more similar workouts under the 'gentle standing workouts'. Here's another one I recently uploaded: ua-cam.com/video/hJ17YWKjVjA/v-deo.html
This easier workout for the evening.
We’ve both been up and at it hard today, so this was good for tonight.
Even though you had a busy day, you still worked out. You are definitely committed to fitness!
Walking 10 minute was very challenging. I would like more walking exercises for 10 to 15 minutes. Thanks
Hi! I'll attach a playlist of more short and gentle workouts below:

Jules, this was a great short video to start my day. Thank you!
I am enjoying your walk at home, so much! I am 75 years old and that low impact workout is excellent for me. I’m forwarding it to some of my friends!
Thank you, Diana! I really appreciate you sharing them. My goal of starting was to help more seniors so thank you for helping:)
I'm very glad I found your channel, I'm 61 yrs old and I was looking for walking exercise I can do that is gentle. I'm going to start doing this 3 times a week .you make it look very easy.
Welcome Cindy! I hope some of the other workouts work well for you, too.
@@ImprovedHealth thank u , I'm going to try this it looks like it will work for my fibro and osteoarthritis

You'll see titles saying 'home', 'videos', 'playlists'. If you click on the 'playlists', you'll see videos put into different categories based on chair and standing exercise levels. Also, if you go to 'videos', you'll see every video I've created and uploaded. I'd like to ask you to PLEASE SUBSCRIBE by hitting the red 'subscribe' button and PLEASE hit the 'thumbs up' button if you liked the video. It doesn't cost a thing and it's completely private from other viewers (you'll never hear from me unless you comment under a video). If you click the bell beside the subscribe button, you'll get a notification any time I upload a new video. Hope this helps as I know a lot of viewers struggle to understand UA-cam and how to see all of the videos offered. Lastly, for newbies on UA-cam, you'll see a little down arrow just under the video on the right side. If you click the arrow, you'll be able to read the description explaining what the video is about. I would truly appreciate you subscribing and hitting that thumbs up button! Thanks in advance:) Jules
Thank you for this! I’m recovering from chronic fatigue so I had to modify to make easier and have a break 1/2 way through but I look forward to trying it again regularly and hopefully seeing progress. I’d appreciate more easy short videos like this. Thanks and blessings from Tassie Australia 🇦🇺
Welcome to my channel and thank you for letting me know that you're new here. Just to help you navigate the channel, I create 3 levels of workouts (gentle, beginner and intermediate) and categorize them all into the playlists. If you enjoyed this one, you can find plenty more at this same level under the 'gentle level' playlists. There are lots of other short 10-20 minute walks that I hope will help. Taking breaks as needed is a great way to be able to do more of the workout and in time, you'll get stronger and be able to do more. Another option is to do the seated workouts on days when your energy is lower due to chronic fatigue. The gentle seated workouts focus on gentle movement to improve flexibility and range of motion. I also create 3 levels for those so you can pick and choose depending on your energy. I'll add my other seated channel in case you'd like to try some there: youtube.com/@ImprovedHealthChairWorkouts
@@ImprovedHealth thank you for all that info, very helpful!
TY so much for not going to fast , but telling us that we can increase if we like, and not talking too much.. just saying the right things to encourage us. yeah can't wait for that one for 20 mins.. Ive gone to search on the site for seniors low impact and I thought I was running a race:((
Thank you for your feedback. It’s helpful to hear what has helped you and helps me with knowing what to do when creating more videos. Thank you for taking the time to comment:)
Thank you I just had surgery and had to start over ❤
Welcome back and congrats for coming back after surgery! I'm glad to see you're starting back slowly as needed after a surgery. One day at a time!
Love the music the exercises and only text prompts. Thank you
Thank you for your feedback:)
I really like your calm demeaner - the quiet music. And i can make my own variations according to the level of energy I have. Thank you!
Thank you for your kind comment, Helena. ❤️
I love these little 10 minute workouts. Just started today. Did one this morning and one this evening. Going to try to squeeze in another one before I go to bed. This is perfect for me because I have pain in my knees and this is not strenuous. And I could do it at a little faster pace. Also the music is soft and relaxing. Thank you !
Congrats on starting! That’s often the hardest part. Your plan sounds great and it’s just as beneficial getting in a bunch of short workouts throughout the day compared to a long workout.
Great exercises. Thank you😊
Hello! I get 2 10 minute breaks a day on remote job. Will be spending one with you! These 10 minutes of movements are perfect for remote desk bound. I am recommending to team mates! Love it us broken in to 2 segments. You are so encouraging and make it easy! Thank you!🎉❤😊
Thank you for your lovely comment and congrats for making the time to fit these into your work day. If you enjoyed this one, you can find more like it in the ‘gentle level’ playlists. Thank you for sharing these with others, too!
Love this. Nice to find a gentle exercise video that's actually gentle!! Definitely helps this fibro girl a lot!! Definitely subscribed!! Hugs and thank you!!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰💙💙💙💙💙
Thanks so much, Connie. Please let me know what else you would find helpful for future workouts.
I am rehabbing from a hip injury. I was riding a recumbent bike nearly every day for 7+ years. I am a senior and after some adjustments and PT, I started back to what I have been doing and the pain came back immediately. So, finding your classes has been a lifesaver. Thank you. It's all been trial and error. Your classes are exactly what I have been looking for. Thank you.
Thank you so much for your comment. I hope the ‘true beginner’ walks work well for you. I will try to add new ones within the next few weeks so you have more variety.
Loving this walking exercise even though I can only get thru the first half of it...
I will persist till I can do the entire 10 minutes!!
Just turned 77. have stopped doing any walking because of disabling balance issues and neuropathy in my feet. Thanks so much for this.....happy to have found you!!
Hi Linda, welcome to my channel! I love your determination! Just to help you navigate the channel, I create 3 levels of workouts (gentle, beginner and intermediate) and categorize them all into the playlists. If you enjoyed this one, you can find plenty more at this same level under the 'gentle level' playlists.
On days when you might be struggling, you could also add on a gentle seated workout. It'll help you to improve your range of motion and mobility, which in turn will help you to be able to get stronger for the standing workouts. I have gentle seated workouts here, and also on my new channel dedicated to chair workouts. I will add the link for you here: youtube.com/@ImprovedHealthChairWorkouts
Lastly, I upload all of the workouts from both channels to my website at www.improvedhealthforseniors.com
I hope that helps and I hope you enjoy more of the workouts when you try them out.
It’s been several years since I have worked out, due to pain issues. I gained a lot of weight & lost muscle so I just could not do my normal routine. I was feeling very defeated. This is gentle and did not cause pain for me. I feel like I could use this to build back up my strength & endurance. Thank you. Will be working up to using this several times a day.
Hi! I have lots of options for gentle workouts on my channel which I hope you'll enjoy. If you go to the playlists, you'll find all of the gentle ones categorized together in the playlists. I hope they work well for you:)
QHBPMGAD womens diabetic shoes are the professional shoes for the old people.
I am 70 years old with osteoarthritis. This was easy on my knees and back yet enough to get good cardio. I will make this and your other videos a part of my daily routine. I love the time clock which challenges me to keep pushing. It makes the goal achievable. I love how you explain each exercise in time for me to change movement. Enjoyable!😊
Thank you so much for letting me know that you new here and enjoying the gentle workouts. Just so you know, I categorize all of the workouts in the playlists and on my website. It makes it easier for people to find the workouts that suit their fitness level. I have lots of gentle workouts that I hope will work well for you. Thanks as well for your feedback! www.improvedhealthforseniors.com
@@ImprovedHealth I'm so overweight 36yo lady... and I have right knee pain also... At 3:04 Hamstring Curl... Can I skip this move because of knee issue... Please reply
Thanks in advance
@@durreshehwar4272 Hi! My suggestion is to modify any exercise that doesn't work well for you. If the hamstring curl is tough on your knee, then definitely switch it to something else. A step touch (feet back and forth) is likely a better move for your knee. Congrats for being here and for taking that first step to working out! I truly hope you come back every day. A little bit every day definitely adds up!
I like your videos (music...movements...tempo...walking with movements GREAT). Especially in a day when I have low energy level...feel stress out or nerve pains. I like doing movements outdoor / on bed / on chair or standing at floor when possible. Main thing is when videos are not that long and they are gentle movements it is easy to start doing. When you feel like doing more you can do video two times or do 2-3 videos. My wishes for length is 10-15-20 minutes...maybe 30 minutes too with warm up or cardio...movements and stretching with this gentle tempo :) Keep on doing great videos. Your voice...talking...music everything is relaxing and nice to listen.THANK YOU!
Hi Anika, thank you so much for your comment and suggestions. I will keep you in mind as I work to create more like you have suggested. Thank you!
Thank you again I have been doing these excel

I love your advice for others, Joanne. Thank you for sharing. It's so true, starting slowly is best and over time, we definitely do get stronger.
My first time walking with you, really enjoyed it. Just starting out. Looking forward to your other walking videos. Have a blest evening,Patty
Welcome to my channel, Patty! I have categorized workouts into playlists to help viewers navigate the channel more easily. If you go to the playlists, you'll see more gentle walking workouts there. I hope you enjoy the other workouts as you get through them.

Thank you!
Thank you! A good walk. Something to look forward to everyday when the weather is bad outside.
Thank you! I'm glad to read that you enjoyed it. I have lots of short gentle walks in my 'gentle standing' playlist.
Discovered your channel while looking for low impact chair exercises for seniors. I like the amount of time, short enough that I can handle the exercises but long enough for me to benefit from the exercises. I enjoy the variety of exercises that is offered. I share these on Facebook as I find them enjoyable and beneficial.
Thank you for the feedback, Karen. I'm glad to hear the classes are suitable for you and thank you so much for sharing the videos on Facebook...very much appreciated!
I am so thankful to you great exercise walking and moving joints for seniors.
I had walked and tried one minute walk by Leslie before. It is very intense for seniors over 70. But when I tried yours it was exciting and I took a break at 5 minutes and then continued till the end. I have COPD so breathing was also not bad thanks again.
Thanks so much, Syed. I have lots of videos under my 'gentle' workouts. I hope you'll find more there that you will also enjoy.
Thank you so much ... praying this will energize and restore health after operation
I have lots of gentle workouts on my channel which hopefully will be manageable after your operation. If you go to the playlists, you'll find them all under the 'gentle' playlists.
Thank you so much for this video. Helps with anxiety and depression- just the right amount of time for right ow.

GM and ty this was soothing on a Snowy Monday morning, just did 10mins stretching and them wanted to do low impact 10 min walk so it worked out perfect I feel refreshed. I will be looking for to your 20mins. walk video. It so good that on my 60's I can still move.. Far cry from my younger years with Denise Austin videos... LOL

I love this workout! I have Fibromyalgia along with some other issues that are a drain on my energy. Some days, I cannot get outside to walk due to fatigue, pain, etc. But I can do this video and it really helps! I can actually do it a few times a day between rest periods. Thank you so much!!
Thanks so much for letting me know that you enjoy this one. I was considering deleting this one since I feel I have ones that are much better. But, I shall keep it here if you enjoy it. Just so you know, I have plenty more gentle level workouts under the 'gentle level' playlists. I also have some seated ones and combined seated/standing workouts that might work well for the days when the fibromyalgia acts up more. I'll attach the link to my other channel for you in case you'd like to try some of the workouts: youtube.com/@ImprovedHealthChairWorkouts
Hello for making & sharing this video. It is low impact and very helpful for people like me who are just starting again to do some exercises to first built stamina. Cristina (NY)

These 10-15 minute walking videos are perfect! I love exercising and getting my heart rate up, but it's hard for me to do that with my chronic pain issues. Finding your channel has helped me so much. The beginner videos without more complicated moves like squats are wonderful. I love how you put the move queues on the screen so I can play my own music while watching your videos. Thank you so much!
Thank you for the feedback, Ashley! I’ll get some more gentle walks out soon.
Thank you for an actual low impact workout. I've clicked on so many videos claiming to be low impact that were just too intense. I was able to commit to this for the full 10mins and feel like I was doing a workout without having my hips and knees want to buckle at the same time.
Thanks so much for your comment. If you go to my playlists, I have a whole assortment of gentle workouts. I create gentle, beginner and intermediate levels. If you liked this one, the true beginner playlist will be most appropriate. If you have trouble finding it, please let me know.
I think it’s been a long time since we revisited this video. We did move at a little faster pace in some places. Good way to end the day!!
This one is definitely gentle. I’ll have a new gentle walk uploaded tomorrow.
Thank u for this video. Just getting back to exercising again. Hurt my foot n had to wait until it healed. Great to walking again. Love working out.
Welcome back!
I like your style. So comforting.
I really enjoy these low impact walks. I have become very motivated with your videos. Increasing every week!Thank you!
I'm so happy to read that you are becoming motivated to work out. Finding the motivation is often the hardest part. Congrats on increasing the amount every week! Woo hoo! That's great!
Coming across your videos have really helped me reach daily goals. I live in Texas, the heat is real. These videos are fun and help me get over my guilt
Thank you again for doing these💗🌺
Thanks Angela! I am giving thought to future videos for walks at this pace…would videos at this pace but a bit longer work for you? I have lots of walking videos but at a faster pace. I’d love some feedback so I cater to different levels.
@@ImprovedHealth I’ve done a couple of your other videos I think they’re great. I could see where some people would need a longer version like this one
Same!!!
Oh, Julie, what a day I’ve had! We only got to do this easy 10 minute workout today. 😞
Mid morning my back decided to reek havoc on me. I finally had to make a trip back to the Chiropractor. I think that will be back on track soon-I’m glad I’ve finally learned to go to him early on when I have trouble.
Maybe tomorrow will be a better day.
I’m sorry to hear about your back:( Take the time you need to allow it to heal. The seated gentle or beginner workouts might be the best option right now. Those workouts are still very beneficial:)
@@ImprovedHealth , we will probably go back to those, at least for now. Back to chiropractor Wednesday ; maybe I will make great progress by then with home therapy.
Loving your videos to inspire and help me to make more effort to exercise. Thank you . I particularly like the ones to music.
Thanks so much, Carole. I agree, I think having music is better:)
Found you after hours sitting in a hard folding chair with my mom in the ER. I barely had enough room to do the hand stretching part. Thanks for the gentle tone to it all.
Thanks for taking the time to comment during what is likely a stressful time. I hope your mom is doing okay.
I am enjoying doing your classes. I love that I'm not in a public class feeling everyone watching and the teacher giving me the look. I try walking every day and include your exercises to make my 10,000 steps goal. I'm not a young person , not middle age unfortunately but I feel keeping fit and well is important at any age. Thank you Jules for your endeavours to help the nation get fit , especially us oldeys. Oh by the way I love in the 40 ,50,60, you say abou the generation who were bone during that period that they could dance the way they did. I have this vision of a 90 year old throwing his partner of his shoulder or through his legs. Love Carol
Lol, thanks for letting me know about your vision of people dancing.😳
Congrats on your 10,000 steps goal each day, Carol! That's great!
Just found your channel and subscribed. I’ve been inactive for too long. I think your

This is fantastic. I am 68 with serious fibromyalgia and extreme arthritis. I am in chronic pain 24/7. My fiancee is 71 and also suffers with extreme arthritis. We started with doing the 10 minute chair yoga and love these exercises. We will continue to build up our endurance and strength and do the longer timed chair yoga classes. Today, we started to include 10 minute walk class as well in our day as the chair yoga. Thank you so much for making exercising so possible and we are excited about keeping ourselves healthier and getting stronger too. Would like to know your first name if you are with sharing that with us. We put out a lot of gratitude toward you when during our exercises...lol. Wishing you a wonderful day. 🙂
Thank you so much for your wonderful comment. I am SO happy to read that you're both finding my workouts beneficial, and that they work well for both of you. My name is Jules (or Julie). @@ImprovedHealth You're welcome! Thank you. :) I should check them out.
Finally found a good workout channel ❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸
I enjoyed this walk with gentle moves. I was looking for something that gave me 'movement' with low to no impact that I can do on my 'off weight training days' and this is just what I needed. I also like the idea of slowing things down since most of our days (movements and thoughts) are all about hurrying up and going more which is exhausting. Thank you
Thanks for your great comment, Kathleen. If you'd like more videos like this one, you can find plenty more under the 'gentle level' playlists.

I'm so sorry to read about the chronic pain and I truly hope these workouts will help to get you started with safe exercise. I am the 82-year-old who discovered your brilliant Mama Mia 25-minute programme some time ago. I sit at the computer too much, searched for a quick break and found this. Thank you very much for your excellent programmes.
Big smile here...thanks Bryan. I am super happy to read you are getting up from the computer desk and getting some exercise:) I plan to create more shorter walks soon. Stay tuned:)
Thanks for your program. I enjoyed it. If you like put a clock on the video.

Wishing you a short wait for the operation and a speedy recovery after:)
You were recommended by my hispital physiotherapist as a way to keep active. Just did my 10 minute session. Great! Look forward to the next. I subbed.
Oh wow! Thanks so much for letting me know about the PT. I really appreciate that!
Recovering from hip replacement. Living in very hot conditions so this is perfect for loosening my quads.

I did also today the 10 minutes walk I enjoyed it to help me even more. Thank you
Thanks for your podcast.
Thank you, this was perfect for me. 5 months after a TKR and the weather is too wet to go out walking. I enjoyed all the little exercises between the walking. 10 minutes is all I can do!
10 minutes is a great start, Susie! I hope you keep coming back day and after day and soon enough, you'll hopefully want, and be able to do more:)
These short workouts are perfect for me. I’m trying to get my energy back after dealing with cancer, loss of some family members, Covid and just the general stress of the world. So appreciate you… subscribed!
Oh, I'm so sorry to read about the struggles you have been going through, Tana. Kudos to you for exercising as a coping skill to deal with some of the stress you are going through. I hope you continue to come back daily.
This is a great workout as I'm recovering from food poisoning. Thanks!
Oh no! Sorry to hear about the food poisoning...awful:( I wish you a speedy recovery.
Enjoyed the workout. Thank you
Really enjoyed the pace and the ability to increase pace if needed... ideal for both my husband and myself.

I just discovered you and I love the exercise. It the right length of time.
Welcome to my channel, Barb! I hope you enjoy the other workouts as you get through them.
Thank you for this video. I am 75 and need to exercise 20 minutes per day. I plan on doing this 2 or 3 times a day.
Hi! I have lots of gentle workouts so you can definitely try different ones so you don't get bored. By changing up the video, your body will also get different moves in which would also be beneficial. Just head to the playlists, and look for the 'gentle level' playlists. You'll find plenty of gentle workouts there. Alternatively, you can also find them all categorized on my website at www.improvedhealthforseniors.com. I hope that helps!
I'm 72 years old and enjoyed just some movements I could do inside the house especially since it's so cold tin the garage his time of year. I especially like both movement with the legs and arms. I'd like to work on my balance too. Thanks for a fairly fast 10 minutes!
Thanks Debbie! You can find more like this one under the 'gentle level' playlists.
Love your 10 minute walks. And love the separated walking intervals and exercise intervals. Like the 10 minute walks that include upper body exercises at the same time, but do love these. As you say, on good days, walk faster, on not so good days, walk a little slower. But I can always complete a 10 minute walk. Thank you so much! 🥰
Thanks SO much for letting me know that you enjoy the variety of shorter walks. I appreciate the feedback.
Hi can I do these if I have a Hiatal hernia
This is a very gentle walk and would be suitable for anyone who is given the okay to do gentle exercise. If you have concerns, please check with your medical doctor.@@user-zv6nh6yd8t

Thanks so much for your comment, Christine. I’ll be creating lots more soon.
I am really enjoying your walking videos . I am only doing the short ones now , but hope to progress to the longer ones in due time .
I love that you are looking forward to progress:)
I am really enjoying your workouts. I have a chronic medical condition and the medication I am on makes my joints hurt and causes anxiety for me. Your workouts are low impact but leave me feeling accomplished. Thank you for what you do for the community!
Thank you so much for your comment, Stacey. I am so happy to read these workouts are doable for you. I plan to create more gentle walks soon. Can you let me if you have any special requests?
Amazing indoor workout .. 🇺🇸❤️
I started using this video day 2 days ago, today I did it again. I can only get through half the video due to bad knees but I will keep working at till I get through the whole video. Thank you.
Hi Debbie, good for you for doing this two days in a row even though your knees are bothering you. Have you tried my gentle or beginner chair exercises? They'll provide you with good range of motion exercises and cardio and strength exercises which may benefit you more than the walking. You can find all of the workouts under my playlists. Or maybe try a chair workout and then do what you can in this walking video...just a thought:)
@@ImprovedHealth thank you. I will look into your other videos.
I just found your channel today and tried the exercises. I enjoyed them. No problem keeping up at all.
I am now subscribed!
Thank you
Welcome to my channel and thank you for subscribing:) I hope you continue to enjoy my other workouts as you get through them.
