Microwave Oven Lamp Replacement

In this video I replace the blown lamp in my Samsung M1736N microwave oven with a 240v 25w T170 bulb. The principle applies to other similar microwaves.
The new bulb was supplied by LM Electrical.

Thanks..... our bulb has blown and i now know where on earth it is!!. Gonna buy new bulb tomorrow and let there be light.....

Thank you so much. Really clear tutorial. Took a while to wiggle bulb out from the wire- holder. Now ordered a new one. This repair will save me from having to shine a torch through the window to see if my cakes ready! (If you open the door to look, the cake sinks)

Thank's for this video. You say there can still be electricity in the appliance even after unplugging, is there anyway to drain it or if not, what mustn't I touch to avoid a lethal shock? Willing to have a go but a nervous now.

cathy burton The components which may still hold a charge are called capacitors and are generally cylindrical, not unlike a battery. You should find they are well away from the lamp and have insulated terminals. You should be fine as long as you don’t poke about in the electronics 😁

I think you can unscrew in the lamp in some, if not all of them; whether it's E14 or not and the same spec as an oven bulb I don't know. They're so cheap as a whole unit though.

I can't remember, but I've just searched "Samsung T170" in Amazon and eBay and they both list them. They're around £7. Cheers.

No, not all. The microwave will continue to work as normal.

Clicked on this trying to see whether or not that damb bulb unscrews.. trying to not get a squeeze grip on it then pop it.. will not be a good time..
