Very useful and informative. I have a Neff double oven and never had to change a G9 bulb before and it was a bit fiddly especially getting the bulb prongs in the right direction. Bit of a tip ensure that when you take the old bulb out check which way the prongs are so it is easier to fit the new one
@@lords-electrical I really appreciate the efforts of the people who make this kind of video. For some, it may be tinny, but I avoided the "tragedy" trying to unscrew 😬 the light bulb 😂 Tkank you 👍☺️
I need to replace the bulb on my Ariston oven model FK898E P X AUS S. It is nothing like the ones you demonstrated as it’s behind a square flat cover. Thanks.
If it is the same as other Neff ovens, the glass cover should unscrew and then you have access to pull the bulb out and replace it. It can be difficult to unscrew especially if it is quite a tight fit.
Hi. Thanks for this. We’ll probably have a John Lewis AEG Double Oven. It’s nearly 5 years old. I replaced the bulb about 3 years ago and it needs replacing again but I can’t get the bulb cover off. Any suggestions on how to loosen the bulb cover please? Thanks
Some of them can be really difficult to undo. When it is cold, i normally say it is easier to grip the glass cover with either a towel, or even rubber gloves as sometimes using your bare hands can be difficult to grip.
Hi, thanks for this. I need to replace the bulb for an integrated Neff microwave / oven model: c57m70sogb… looks like I need to pull out the unit as the bulb is on the side panel. Thx
I doubt I will get a reply since this video was 4y ago. But is it dangerous to substitute an oven bulb ? The bulb from ceiling fan fits in my oven and comes on when I turn it on with the switch and when I open the oven door. The oven bulb is 15 watts, ceiling fan bulb is 13 watts . Can I use it? Janet Shelton
It will only be suitable if the bulb is capable of being up to 300 degrees C as all oven bulbs are. A standard fan bulb will not normally be suitable unfortunately.
Hello. Very informative and well done. I have a LG LRE30453ST oven that I would like to replace the bulb and get much better light. I know I can't use LED due the inability of the product to handle the oven heat. That said I was hoping you could recommend a halogen or similar product that will upgrade the light output of my oven. Thank you
Hello, we have B27CR22N1B, the other version of the hide and slide. Can you tell me how you remove the cover for it please? Ours won't budge. Thanks :)
Annoyingly i have downloaded the instructions but it doesn't say which bulb to use. The only way to check is to remove the old bulb and check which wattage it is from the old bulb
I have a NEFF oven model GB-1036.51 HCSG (Yes it is old) on which I need to replace the bulb. The bulb cover is rectangular not a screw on. How do I remove the bulb cover and what bulb should I get please.
Unfortunately on a lot of ovens, when the oven is heating then cooling the glass cover, it can make it really difficult to get the cover off. Not really a lot of advice on this, all i can say is try and be careful not to break the cover.
Wow this is useful having got a new oven with led bulb and a different cover altogether to my old one im now scared to unscrew the glass cover it sounds crunchy !!! So i may leave it and emigrate!!!!! Or ill get neff or oven cleaner guy to do it as i can't even shift the housing so i won't try !!!
I know exactly what you mean by a crunchy sound. It is normally the glass turning on the catalytic liner that makes the sound, but that is quite normal.
Hi just seen your video so I think you can help me . When I unscrewed the bulb out of the oven it came out leaving the threaded part in the oven , just hope you have a tip how I can take the metal piece out . My oven is a Siemens E number HB43MB520B/08 , FD9202000016 many thanks.
This will sound odd, but it works. Make sure all power is off to the oven first. Get a large blob of blu-tak and put it over the bulb that has broken, push it in and twist to undo it. It should unscrew ok then. I know it sounds odd, but ive done this quite a few times and it always works. Good luck!!
@@lords-electrical You said it might sound daft but no it doesn’t once you think about it .I did what you said and hey it came out first time , what a great tip 👍👍
ours is a belling optima 591 about 14/15 years old. the bulb is in the bottom oven and is behind a glass plate at the side of the oven. looks as though I have to remove the self cleaning side wall lining first
That was a great well explained video thanks very much. I have a Stoves Sterling & struggling to get bulb out. It's a halogen g9 with pins but not sure which either 25 or 40 w. Any tips please. Thanks
Bit late now, but might help someone else. We have a Stoves Stirling 600MF. Search for a bulb by model number and it only lists a £18 sub assembly. I took a picture of the G9 that came out and then zoomed in and tweaked the picture settings. Ours was 240V 42W Hungary GB F3. 42W seems like an oddball but more than happy to put a 40W back in.
Either do not touch the new halogen bulb with your bare fingers -or- clean it thoroughly with alcohol before turning it on. The oils from your fingers will cause premature failure....
I searched AEG competence oven. Which has 2 lights, one at back easy unscrew cover. But, the one the side, I can't get the cover off. How do I change that one!! 🤔
I've got a friend with a Rangemast 90 older model oven with a smashed casing and a blown bulb. It feels like the casing is stuck and with the sharp broken points I was struggling to remove it. I don't honestly know if I would need to take the back off the oven if that would help. Any advice would be very welcome, thank you for such a thorough, helpful video anyway 👍
Unfortunately sometimes they can be really difficult to get undone, especially as the glass cover has been heated up and cooled down many times. The main way i have found works is to use a silicone oven glove to undo it. You can get a good grip on it.
Wish I had seen this first. Unscrewed the glass bulb cover on my hotpoint oven. Didn't know what bulb was in there. Pulled on it, bulb broke cutting my finger. Not sure if one of the little silver parts is still in there. Not sure what to do.
Oh dear, hope you are ok. First of all you need to see what kind of bulb it is, either screw in or just a pull out type bulb. Do you have the model number and i can have a look. If the bulb has broken, there is a good chance that there is still part of the bulb in the bulb holder.
Yes i must admit they can be really difficult to undo. I normally find that using a tea towel and twisting it both ways to loosen it seems to work but patience is normally needed
Hi, I found the video very helpful, but my oven is an AEG and the bulb is at the front of the oven centre. I have removed the cover but can’t get the bulb out, please do you have any suggestions. Feeling the bulb, I think it may be the G9 shape. Thanking you Elizabeth
