Hey Rod, great tips. I have usually been a "hop/twich" guy when it comes to tubes but I'll definately have to dry the drag style. So assuming the weather conditions in summer are fairly stable, how consistently can you catch fish on that kind of water? I've been fishing a local river that has lots of deep fast current and some days I have caught 15 fish and other days I have to work like a dog just to get 3 or 4 small ones, but no notable difference in water quality or weather. The frustrating thing is that sometimes on those tough days when I pull in a fish there are 4 or 5 following him in so I know they are there, and just not taking what I'm offering. I'll throw everything in the arsenal...tubes of all weights and colours, drop shots, ned rigs, cranks, slashbaits, bladebaits, etc. and they just don't seem interested some days. Wondering what other variables to consider and what patterns river smallies tend to follow?
