turbo lag is a pain with bigger turbos fitted, but with OEM short outlet and a good map will minimise it and good ball bearing one is good for 300 plus bhp if the engine can take it.👌👍
Ya I won't be using any of these turbos setups to their potential, I just have to use a bunch of boost to get around where I live and a bunch of boost through 200 HP turbos creates way too high of EGTs
I was considering running twins on my 99 beetle but its just not worth the hassle.. was going to use a turbo out of a 5.9 Cummins since it was laying around (which you have) Think I'm going to just do regular bolt stuff to keep it simple.. but I'd be interested to see which way you go. I've been looking at all these Toyota swap videos and doing way too much thinking when I need to get back to work on the alh. Its cool to see people doing stuff with these motors though they really are great and the mpg i was getting out of the bug will be nice to have again.. Fellow wyominite as well I got them county 20 plates. Keep us posted man cool builds you got so far though
Haha nice! Not that far away then. If you see the videos on the big single on the Toyota, it is working very well, although I still wonder if my big Dakota swap might need the compounds just for the purpose of lowering EGTs. Space won't be an issue there!
That compound setup work be sick. I put 3k on my camshaft and its been holding up great. I want more power. I would like to learn more about what setups you have and what you're doing with them. Great work keep it up

Looking forwards to seeing the progress. I'm in the middle of doing R&D for compound selection for my mk6 tdi.
Ya I'm excited, but an mk6 with compounds would be awesome!
I've got a TDI (BLS) but want an ALH with compounds. Lol. I like old school tuning.
Haha ya I will do compounds on the next build for sure 😁

Ya I'm super excited to get started on that, just got done mocking up the big single on my Toyota
@@TDISwaps thats sweet I wonder how it will tow now. I'll be waiting for a video of the new setup
@@littlelouievs we will see! Mostly just wanting to drop some of the lag between shifting
Why do you prefer the ALH over the BEW in your swaps?
Honestly they are just what I find whenever I am looking. I would swap in any TDI but the ALHs always come up cheap
