You should do a mission to duna in the style of The Martian where you have a veichle that stays in orbit like the hermes, a ground base that is placed there and a descent/ascent veichle to dock with the hermes.

Hey, I've used "docking bees" before. Basically small Mk1 pods with a bunch of RCS thrusters, monopropellent tanks, and docking ports at both ends.
Just to move station modules around.
Ngl, I had a notification for this and it woke me up, kinda got mad but then it was Matt so I was back to being happy and now I'm watching it 😂

If the Composition of Duna is the same as that of Mars, then the Coronavirus cannot survive.
EDIT: Duna has the same composition as Mars. There is only Carbon Dioxide in the atmosphere, combined with below freezing (0 Degrees Celsius/32 Degrees Fahrenheit/273.15 Kelvins) temperatures, very fine dust and toxic soil (Although it has the required nutrients for plant life). No living organism could survive, except Tardigrades.

When docking ports are "kissing" (within magnetic range), the angle - unless extreme - doesn't matter too much. Just disable SAS on the lighter one of the two vessels (on the approaching one, in case of a station approach) and give them some time. I have seen standard docking ports slowly pulling very heavy tanker vessels right up to the point where the docking ports snapped together successfully after a few minutes. Magnets just don't give up.

I would recommend a mod called restock. I know and understand why you don’t use mods but this one only changes parts to look more realistic or closer to their real counterparts. It doesn’t change any stats or anything and all of the parts look pretty neat. Thank you for coming to my ted talk.
It uses a shitload more ram and makes everything lag a lot more

You wouldn't need wings on the bottom of the rocket if you have wings ontop if you ascend with the top wings perpendicular to the ground so they don't create lift therefore won't make the rocket unstable.

It's funny how Matt accidentally recreated a scaled down version of the colony ships from Destiny.
Cool work around with using a Kerbal to push a space station together! Next time your close to docking like that, turn off sas and rcs on one craft and the docking port magnets will pull the craft together. When you leave sas on and try to turn a craft it pivots around the center of the craft, but with sas off, and no steering inputs given, it will pivot on the pull of the docking port.
It is not possible to make it on earth you have to build it entirely in space

If you want tips on how to get better, watch Scott Manley's tutorials from like 5 years ago, they still apply. Docking the first time took me 7 hours to do 6 months ago but yesterday I did it in only an hour and a half for my second time and Scott Manley's words were embedded in my head from the first million times I watched his video

I think a little bit of part clipping is fine. I mean even if space ships were made out of select prefabricated pieces in the real world, saws, grinders and welders exist.

Maybe „Harder“ Kerman would be more appropriate... BTW: NASA wouldn‘t find itself in a situation likethis, because BOEINGs Software would have flown the spaceship to the wrong planet.

It's VERY INTERSTING but I don't have enough knowledge to play it. Could you make tutorials about this game - engines (Delta V, fuel, different atmosphere layers and so on...), Taking off, orbiting (ESPECIALLY ORBITING) and flying to other planet (how to correct and synchronise orbits, etc.). It would be really great if you create some sub-assemblies from KSP (MK2 fuselage, cockpit and rear part, functional rapier, etc.) Thank you in advance Matt.
P.S. In-game tutorials are too fast, they just tell what to do but they don't tell us why should I and how it works)

Matt, if you want to avoid talking about how to transfer between Kerbin and Duna (and others) over and over, you might consider taking a page out of Battlenonsense's book and just making a shorter video (or series of videos in a playlist) discussing only that topic. Then, whenever you're making a video like this one, you can just say something like, "If you want to see how to set up a transfer window, please check out my tutorial video series. Link in the description!"

Lol I play a mobile game called Spaceflight Simulator and I’ve launched a few satellites and I’m launching a space station to Mars (Duna) but i legit can’t get an orbit without landing on Mars first and I can’t do multiple launch assemblies because I’m trash at the game. So what I do is I build a booster, I build the space station, add the landers, rovers, life pods, ect and then launch it. I then get it into LEO and reconfigure the space station, booster still attached (unless it’s planned to be an Earth space station) and blast off to wherever I need to go
