Matt: "I will not disappear on a massive tangent on, for example about George Foreman" Narrator: "This was in fact a really nice segue to disappear on a massive tangent about George Foreman"
Just imagine this. You're a cute little Kerbal, just landed on the moon. Your HQ tells you to stay still, a huge base lands right in front of you, and walks towards you
@@MattLowne It's because all the kerbals work together in a wonderful display of teamwork and cooperation to lift the giant drill that probably weighs several tonnes.
I haven't even started watching the episode yet, but this is the sort of content I think is really interesting for KSP. It's a challenge that has a bit of realism to it, requires some tight decisions to be made, but doesn't come with annoyingly harsh limitations. Looking forward to watching!
i can already visualize a Lovecraftian entity in the form of a Munar base walking slowly towards Gwenlo Kerman, towering over this poor kerbal that's stuck on Mun...

Honestly when you said more ambitious videos this is what I hoped for. Not some big solar system spanning SSTO that can touch down everywhere on a thimble of fuel but interesting mission ideas that you see through to the end and problem solve on the way. Great to see you back behind KSP though, hope you had a great Christmas etc :)
This is my first KSP video that released after i started watching your channel, thank you for brand new content ive watched a good majority of what youve posted thus far and i do find your commentary quite enjoyable
Ground Anchor Base Idea: Asteroid Base. Quite an ambitious idea, but catch an asteroid and then send a base up to it! Would be really cool, and quite a challenge lol.
lol instead of walking the different modules of my base to dock them together I slide them with the gimbal and engines throttled so my twr stays at 0.9 and I just approach the other modules slowly and *menacingly*😂
Annnnd it's here! The talking with Matt - **I mean KSP video**! Yeah! I was totally not here for talks about cooking with Matt and curry and grill, but for KSP! Jokes aside, glad this is finally out. Missed both your KSP content and you talking lol.
Here is an idea for a challenge. That can all so be cut in parts if nessesary. 1st launch is easy. Smallest rocket you can land on mun. 2nd launch. Land on the mun again, but the previeus rocket is now your payload(incl fuel). 3rd is a launch again but the 2nd is now your payload. And this keeps going until either ksp craches or kraken attack. See how many launches can you do.
Matt I gonna be real honest, without you, i would have rage quitted KSP but now (thanks to me watching you) i have now built multiple space stations and rockets Thank you.
Make a landing pad for the base! It could also include an arm that attaches to the landed craft, that would allow for the transfer of ore/fuel. This could act as a gas station! A Munar 7-Eleven!!!
I actually had the Gilly Base before... Challenge: Build a Space Station outside of Gilly`s sphere influence but anchor it into the Ground with a few Ground anchors and a 20 km long Beam.
Jolly good fun. Can't wait for more KSP content, and hopefully KSP 2 this year(fingers crossed). Glad you are back on it. Doing KSP videos for fun is better than stressed. If you were to do a more complicated mission, breaking it up into weekly parts might also work as well. Do a month long four part series, rather than cram it all in during a single weekend video.
as mentioned @ 6:57 Nvidia has two modes of screen record. Desktop and application. When recording a application like KSP, make sure the app is in fullscreen or else nvidia will record in desktop mode with no sound.
Been missing my KSP fix. Thanks Matt! Bring on KSP2!
Yeah, wait has KSP 2 released already ?
hi
KSP2? N i c e
Matt Lowne: for all your KSP needs
@@shivammathur1583 i don't think so

Matt: "I will not disappear on a massive tangent on, for example about George Foreman"
Narrator: "This was in fact a really nice segue to disappear on a massive tangent about George Foreman"
Just imagine seeing a moon base land 50 m away and then it walks towards you
This has to be a video
Matt:"I'm about to do what's called a pro-gamer move"
I always cringe when I see the 69 or 420 likes so I won’t like
*but*
I was so confused until I wasnt lol
bruh
19:37 I just spilled my coffee everywhere, laughing like crazy. This walking base is just hilarious.

Yeah haha

Yeeeeeeet
I gasped when I saw that the base started walking with its lil' legs. Totally unexpected. Totally appreciated.
Pro Tip: Orbital construction is extremely easier when holding a rung of a ladder rather than floating about.
Yes, I know, and I have no idea why I didn't bring a ladder for this 😂
Orbital construction wasn't actually necessary. The engineer can manipulate heavier items, if you have other kerbals near by.
@@larsreinken9135 I did not know this
@@MattLowne It's because all the kerbals work together in a wonderful display of teamwork and cooperation to lift the giant drill that probably weighs several tonnes.
@@larsreinken9135 Came here to say this
It doesn't matter that it wasn't a big mission it's just great to have you back
19:40 now this is the greatest movement technique i have ever witnessed
yes
Believe it or not, this is exactly what I’m trying to perfect in KSP, hope you’re doing well Matt !
Build suggestion: walking/ walker base, maybe like an AT-AT.
Would probably be pretty kraken-attack-prone, but dam that'd be pretty cool to see
I think that is a good idea. Get on it Matt!
I don't think anyone has made a walker in ksp before 🧐

What a great talk on George Foremans and Dry January. Interesting choice for background video with all the space stuff. :P

Glad to have the little green folks back on the channel!
Yay, another KSP video from Matt! Can’t wait for KSP 2 to (finally) drop this year!
When using EVA construction, you can actually have the other two kerbals on EVA to help carry it, even if they're not engineers!
As they say, many hands make light work.

In fact, there is a docking port on that refinery module, a senior docking port at the top !
Didn’t realize this video was brand new. Great to see that content is still flowing
