      You can connect multiple devices to your OBD2 port at the same time using an OBD2 splitter such as this - www.p3cars.com/accessories/p3-low-profile-obd2-splitter/
      However, many OBD2 devices cannot fully function at the same time. Depending on what the devices are looking for they may conflict with one another in the network. Our gauge does have a couple features built in for situations like these -
      1- If you have a V3 gauge, you can try to run your gauge in "low priority" mode by changing the priority setting to "Lp.Y"
      2- With both the V3 and V2 gauges you can run your gauge in "analog" mode so that you can read boost, battery voltage and the 2 analog inputs without communicating on the network.
      All the details for these settings can be found on our install page - www.p3gauges.com/install/ If you have any further questions please email us - support@p3cars.com, thanks! -Jake

      @P3Gauges  Рік тому

      You may have deleted it by accident. Here's instructions on removing and restoring readouts from our install page - (p3gauges.com/v3-install)
      TO REMOVE AN UNWANTED READOUT
      1- While gauge is running in gauge mode, TAP the right button to cycle to the readout you would like to remove.
      2- HOLD the left button until you see "- - - -" (while holding the left button you will see the bar graph scroll back and forth across the screen)
      The reading is now removed until you restore it. (see instructions below)
      TO RESTORE A REMOVED SETTING
      1- HOLD both buttons until "ConF" appears and then release.
      2- TAP the right button until you see "cc.x" ("x" being a placeholder for several different options) You can find the correct cc setting for your car in the configuration chart above.
      3- TAP the left button to cycle through the cc options and stop once you get to the correct setting for your vehicle. (perform this step even if the cc setting is already correctly set for your vehicle)
      4- Once you are back to your correct cc setting HOLD the right button until the screen turns off. (this saves/exits the menu)
      5- Start your engine (if not already running) and the gauge will turn on. (It will take a little longer than usual on the first startup after completing these steps)
      This process forces the gauge to "re-scan" the ECU and pull all the readings that it can. All your readings should be restored at this point.

    So is the speed on my cluster faster than I’m actually going?? Why? Is it like a safety thing?

    • @P3Gauges
      @P3Gauges  7 місяців тому

      Most likely, yes. If you dig into it you can find a lot of information on this being the case across the board with all manufacturers. When you get into the fine details of how to determine your EXACT speed it gets very interesting due to tire diameter variations caused by pressures, tread depth, tire manufacturing, etc...
      It appears this padding is built in to protect manufacturers from liability for vehicles traveling faster than stated. If you get a ticket for speeding, they can't be sued for you going faster than your speedometer says.

    How do you dim the gauge if set to d.On or d.On.P?
    Mine has a mind of its own when set to d.On.A (green wire) Using the light output from the vent illumination which is about 5 volts. C7.5 Audi S6. It stays dim most of the time but occasionally changes to bright momentarily even though the vent illumination stays on.
    Also, I may prefer using the manual dim because when you look into the left mirror at night the gauge display is reflected into the mirror.

    • @P3Gauges
      @P3Gauges  Рік тому +2

      Simply hold the right button down while in gauge mode to manually dim or brighten the display.
      If you have a v3 gauge the threshold for auto-dimming using the green wire is 1 volt DC. If you have an “average” voltage from CAN lines the gauge dimming won’t work consistently. Also, if you are on a line where voltage drops as you drop the cluster illumination you may be bouncing on that threshold so the gauge goes back and forth between dim and bright.
      If you have a v2 gauge I believe the auto dim threshold was around 5v so that could also be your issue if the line you tied the green wire to is at 5v.
      If you have any further questions please email support@p3cars.com.

      @@P3Gauges Thanks for the info. The gauge is a V3. I did not measure the voltage with an oscilloscope so I don't know if there are fluctuations (averaging) on the CAN bus.

      Hey Beckett,
      It sounds like your coolant temperature readout may have been hidden (you do this by holding the left button until the readout disappears.)
      To get it back, you can either follow the factory reset procedure, outlined at 18:53 or you can go to the cc.X setting and cycle through all of them back to the one you started on. 15:20 would be a helpful place to see info on this. Once you are back at the cc.X setting that you started on you can press and hold the right button to save and exit the menu and your coolant temperature reading should be back.

    Hello when the gauge is set on automatic turn on with rpm and battery, does this drain the battery while the car is off??? because it’s using logic to see a voltage to turn on.???

    • @P3Gauges
      @P3Gauges  Рік тому +2

      Great question! It has a sleep routine just like your ECU so that it uses as little power as possible. • @P3Gauges
      @P3Gauges  3 роки тому

      Hey Beckett,
      Your car likely uses the throttle plate for idle control, meaning that the computer opens the throttle plate slightly to achieve the target idle RPM. Your throttle plate is actually at 16% (or degrees depending on the vehicle) and this is not a calibration issue.

    How to connect oil temperature sensor? I have Fiesta ST, i have 2 wires from sensor, white and black. White i have put in analog 1 and black to the ground but it doesn't work. Temperature is always -40°c.

    • @P3Gauges
      @P3Gauges  2 роки тому +1

      You will first need to make sure that your sensor has a 0-5 volt linear output. If it does, you'll then need to input the 0 volt and 5 volt temp readings into the gauge in the config menu (those temp readings will be in the specs on your sensor) After you've done all that if you are still getting a "-40" reading it is most likely because no voltage is coming out of the sensor or because there is a connection issue on one of your wires. -40 is usually the 0 volts output reading for most temp sensors. Check to see if your sensor is powered by 5 volts or 12 volts and make sure it is powered up appropriately. Depends on the year/make/model of your car. If you have a GM vehicle or VW/Audi EA888 it will read it through the OBD2 port after a factory reset. Otherwise you'll have to use our ESVA wired into one of the analog inputs. If you have any further questions on that email me - service@p3cars.com and we'll get you covered.@@jamesballenger3991

    No Lambda on LC2?? Now yah tell me🙄

      You can read Lamba with the LC2. Since it's read through the Analog inputs you can put whatever values in that you want. We have the pre-configured settings for AFR but you can manually input Lambda values. The description on the product page shows both the AFR and Lambda values. 7.35AFR=.5Lambda / 22.39AFR=8.0Lambda - www.p3cars.com/accessories/lc-2-digital-wideband-o2-sensor-kit/

      Just saw your email as well. I sent you full instructions on how to read AFR in Lambda using the LC2

      @@P3Gauges I’ll work through this process tonight and see if I can get It dialed in. I was expecting that switching AFr.A to AFr.L it would adjust automatically.

      @@Indefinitely_ Understood, I can see why you would think that but that setting only changes the OBD2 AFR reading if the car has factory widebands. I can't believe that GM doesn't put factory widebands on their LS/LT powered cars! If you need any more help please reply in our email thread, thanks!

      @@P3Gauges no kidding! If I recall correctly Hondas back in 08 even had factory wide band. Thank you for your help!
