I have one too and did some research, it’s even more rare than I thought, Orangeburst Metallic was only available for the year of 2012 AND I suspect only available on the sport trim. I’ve never seen a base OBM. Blue Raspberry Metallic was available 2012/2013 and on both trims but is obviously the sister color to OBM and both look amazing. I just got mine paint corrected too
bro I think you might have missed one important fact: when accelerating put the "S" gear instead of the "D" it literally means "Sport" and is used to denote sport/sporty mode where the transmission keeps itself at a lower gear to provide a higher RPM and have more available power and engine breaking. I owned a Honda Fit 2002 1.3L automatic around 10 years ago and the S gear was simply amazing! crushed it twice then sold it LOL
My dad has one of these that he bought in 2011 but it drives good for a car with only 90hp, it is a great car and I wanna get one of my own next year when I get my license
I daily drive a 2009 Fit Sport. Fun but sketchy on the Texas freeways. Driving at 70 mph generates lots of wind/engine noise and the big trucks rarely ever notice me. IMO the blue raspberry metallic is cool but the Black Berry Pearl "midnight purple" is best. Also Honda offers this in a manual trans, mine is auto :( .
It's actually really impressive how much quieter the 12-13 are in the cabin, they added more sound deadening and thicker front windows to help with that. I was very impressed with the lack of road noise compared to a pre facelift and my girls Mazda2.
My lady has this car and the only thing major I've had to fix is the ac resistor. The car has 167k on it and we've had it since 80k. Pretty damn good car.
Honestly I’m looking into getting this car in the sport model. As well, for work . To lug my cleaning equipment in. But I also want to lower and stiffen up the suspension and breaking. And maybe down the road swap out the engine for a K24 engine. That would make this car more enjoyable to go to work . 👍🏼
"The best thing a car can be performance wise is predictable." Wow, this perfectly sums up the feeling Im looking for in a reliable vehicle. Very well spoken
This car sneaks up on you. The attention to detail, the handling, the visibility, cargo, and understated make me really want to get the gen 2 Fit. With more money I'd go for the fiesta ST.
I have a 2012 air blast silver sport. Just wish I bought a 5 speed. 130k and running strong average 33 mpg combined. Sad that the US isn’t getting the fit anymore.=(
@@ludinvalencia2099 yes, the engine is simple and easy to maintain. Have a mechanic look at it with you. Body Parts are a bit hard to find because that model was only out for 2 years.
The Fit is very durable, and holds its value well. Great choice for a used car. (Unfortunately, it does hold its value.) As Henry noted, the body panels will fade from the market, but everything else should be around for a long time. These have a lot of parts in common with the immortal Civic.
I've got a 2007 Fit, amazing car, minimal problems, still going strong at 308,000 KM. (Approx 191,000 miles) Regular maintenance is the key. The wafer key system however, is the one thing that has given me grief over the years on the door locks and ignition.
I have a Jazz (Fit) as a daily drive, i also had 2 RX7, FB and FC ! what i can say is that the Jazz (Fit) handles very well, have very good fuel economy, and a precise steering, Fun to drive i agree !
This is gen 2. Had a 2009 6sp, replace with a civic hatch 6sp. Fit holds more, civic is more sporty and better mileage if not pushed. Fit is 2 cars in one. Car and mini pickup
I have a 2008 FIT SPORT automatic. Saying it's not fast is bullshit. When I'm first in line at a multi-lane red light, but really want to get into the next lane, when the light turns green, I've always beaten all other vehicles every time. It also has great acceleration.
Our neighbors had one, although I'm not sure what year. The transmission "died" one day in the middle of the street. It was during the pandemic, so I didn't go take a look at it as I'm guessing that it was just low on CVT juice. They ended up donating it and due to some weird circumstances, the next owner was able to find out who they were and contacted them to ask about the car. I would have loved to get my hands on that car before they got rid of it!
This car doesn’t come with a 5 speed automatic but with a CVT in most continents. And it has a rear camera for parking, a panoramic roof and a GPS screen. And that was all standard. And it doesn’t have AC but real climate control so you can control the exact temperature on both sized of the car. Looks like the Fit for the US market is really made more economic/ basic. I have one myself. It’s smoother but definitely not faster than a 5 speed automatic.
2012 were 2nd gen fits--not face lifted 1st gen. The 2007-08 were first gen (introd in 2001 in Japan). 2nd gen were larger, had dead pedal. Drive the stick--much funner than the manual.
In The Netherlands and Germany this is the third generation. Because there already was a Honda Jazz in the eighties. (City in other parts of the world).
Might not have push to mute on the stock radio but you'll notice the small grey power button, it turns off the radio but leaves the time on, functions more or less the same as a mute button
Buy one you won't be disappointed I have just bought my second one and they are just so good to drive sensible and very practical and great residual value for resale too my first one was still worth £2.7k after 11 years you'd be luck if you could get 1500 for a corsa or fiesta after 9 years
I found the center console with armrest new on e-bay for the Honda Fit for $44. "Rotatable Storage Box Armrest Center Console For Honda Fit Jazz 2009-2013 12 11" Brand: XUKEY. Made in California.
I have a 2012 Honda Fit. And you forgot to mention bunch of things about it!. I have it since Summer 2017 and I don't want any other vehicle. Maintenance is not costly as other vehicles. Parts are not that expensive or difficult to find. I do regular maintenance on it so my car never broke on me and I use the car for daily commute 145 miles at least 20 days of the month. It's way bigger than it seems. You can even connect the front seats with the back seats. Or fold the backs seats to have a full side bed. LoL. Great cooling and heating system. Super reliable on snow with the right TIRES. That car isn't that slow, you can change rears and go faster but ofcourse don't expect the same as tesla, BMW or so on... but not bad.
Just viewed this and missing my 2010 fit Sport which was totaled because of a side swipe and the suspension was ruined. The car was 14 years old but it had too much rust on the interior panel. I love the fit so much I bought a newer model which isn’t quite the same. 2019 fit LX You can review one of them some day too.
Nothing against automatic transmissions, but you can’t really judge this car accurately with one. I have driven both, and the auto in this car turns it into absolute turd. It saps about 10% more power from the engine over the manual making it painfully slow. This car with a manual is genuinely zippy if you keep the revs above 3k. Also, the rear seats, in addition to all the cool storage configurations, actually recline. You would probably be a lot more comfortable in the back with them reclined.
you ideably want the 2nd gen like this one, and with a manual 3rd gen will have more creature comforts and safety assistance but they still cost more and arent as fun to drive (the cargo hold is smaller because the 3rd gens have more legroom in the back instead) personally i think the 3rd gen is hideous too
I love my third gen Fit, but yeah the body style...it tries too hard to look like a ten-year-old kid's drawing of "cool." Although mine has less space behind the rear seat, it's enough for normal cargo. For anything big, I'll fold down the rear seat anyway. The manual transmission is forgiving. The clutch is much more gentle than older Hondas.
I had a 2012 Honda Fit sport, loved that car, ran that car to almost 200,000 miles, finally traded it in this year for a 2024 Subaru Crosstrek. I would have got a 2024 fit if Honda still made them, but noooooo. I’ll just give Subaru my money instead.
1st Gen Honda Fit looks totally different from 2nd Gen. Also you forgot to point out the fact that the second gen Fits have usb hookups in one of the TWO glove boxes for ipods or whatever.
I just bought a 2010 Fit. It's an automatic transmission, which to me is great, I'm tired of manual transmissions, the car performance is great. Granted, it's not a race car.
I like your car color too, the blue is nice also, but I drive a taffeta white one which I also really like, I'm glad I don't drive a championship white type R integra though they got trashed pretty bad lol.
The sport mode or a manual transmission makes a big difference. Vtec doesn't kick in till 5000ish so like most hondas you want those high revs if you want to get anywhere
The 2012 isn't a face lifted version of the first gen nor is the 2009 the first gen. 08' is the last year of the first gen. Also you don't need to move the front seat up to lay the seats flat. You're just supposed to take the headrests off when you do that. Front passenger seat also can go totally flat to line up with the back and several other seating modes you left out. It's all in the manual. That being said all Honda Fits rule!
Bought a ge fit a few weeks ago . Offensively slow and sloppy suspension... Awesome commuter car though. With an upgraded suspension and a k24 swap I expect it to be a beast of a commuter car
Hi thanks for the review.i am a new subscriber. I lobe your review.i drive this same car and colour but I need to paint a little scratch i have.do you jave idea of the link to buy the paint colour as a spray to correct my car.thanks in anticipation
My reply is late, but I want to point out that paint fades over time (and sunlight). I went to a body repair shop and asked advice. They suggested a shade of touch-up paint that would not precisely match my car, but was slightly more dull and thus would not be noticed. I did not have such a lovely color, though.
Yeah, Honda automatic transmissions not so hot, but the standards are wonderful. I loved my 5 spd stick on my 1988 Honda Prelude 2.0 si four wheel steering. I thought of getting an automatic because of my fiancee but hell it sucked. Must have been a three speed! Amazing how much better the performance of this little 1.5 liter vtec compared to my old 2.0 liter, getting almost the same horsepower with much better gas mileage. . Hey does this cheap Fit have corrosion proof all plastic door latches like on my step daughter's Ford Fiesta? My window and door wizard (brujo .. I am in Mexico) fixed the plastic latch inside the plastic housing with super glue. I assume Honda has metal for the crucial hinge mechanism.
They hold their value stupidly well. I shopped for a used Fit (before the pandemic made prices crazy). For the price of a 2-year-old used Fit, I could buy the same model brand new. So that's what I did. Of course, the reason they keep their value is because...the cars last so well.
Everybody forgets that you can lean the front seat all the way back with the headrest off and it makes a lounge chair when you sit in the back seat. Both front seats do this, it's great for drive-in movie theaters.

when accelerating put the "S" gear instead of the "D" it literally means "Sport" and is used to denote sport/sporty mode where the transmission keeps itself at a lower gear to provide a higher RPM and have more available power and engine breaking.
It is not 90hp
@@warrengauthier4699 ur right, it has 117 sorry lol I got it mixed up but the car still does drive good 😂
@@Dboii-sg8nh : I have a 2009 Fit 5 speed. It is decent for a small car.
Is it a manual or automatic, mine is an automatic
@@Dboii-sg8nh : 5 speed standard aka free anti-theft device for Mellenial car thieves. 😂
Those Hondas are reliable little things
Thats why i drive it all the time on hyws at 60 max, to reduce noise a little bit.😅 I only wish it could have in the 2nd gen a 6 speed MT 😣
@@rafaeltrujillo8210 yea my 2009 is gutless on uphills and high revs
Most underrated car review channel
My lady has this car and the only thing major I've had to fix is the ac resistor. The car has 167k on it and we've had it since 80k. Pretty damn good car.
Have always wanted a fit & Just bought a 2012…mine is dark gray - l love Fits
Sad that the US isn’t getting the fit anymore.=(
do you recommend buying them used???? im hoping they still are selling them parts for it
@@ludinvalencia2099 yes, the engine is simple and easy to maintain. Have a mechanic look at it with you. Body Parts are a bit hard to find because that model was only out for 2 years.
The Fit is very durable, and holds its value well. Great choice for a used car. (Unfortunately, it does hold its value.)
As Henry noted, the body panels will fade from the market, but everything else should be around for a long time.
Put some 25mm rear wheel spacers and it looks even better.
Looking at a used one tomorrow. Saying good bye to my 95' Civic Hatchback. Wish me luck! And thanks for the review!
Great video dude! You’re a great presenter/performer. Rock on!
I would have loved to get my hands on that car before they got rid of it!
car is insanely fun at high rpm’s
BEST REVIEW ON UA-cam BRILLIANT PRESENTATION
This car doesn’t come with a 5 speed automatic but with a CVT in most continents. And it has a rear camera for parking, a panoramic roof and a GPS screen. And that was all standard.
And it doesn’t have AC but real climate control so you can control the exact temperature on both sized of the car.
Looks like the Fit for the US market is really made more economic/ basic.
I have one myself. It’s smoother but definitely not faster than a 5 speed automatic.
Im got jazz 1.4 2010 executive and it's a brilliant car.... Honda power of dream❤️
Just bought this yesterday. Same color. Stick shift.
Excellent review (I have a Fit so I may be a little biased) ! Your wordsmith skills are GOOD!
I average 38-40 mpg highway =) Love this little car.
Might not have push to mute on the stock radio but you'll notice the small grey power button, it turns off the radio but leaves the time on, functions more or less the same as a mute button
This is called the 'Jazz' in the UK where I am and I'm seriously considering one of them.
Buy one you won't be disappointed I have just bought my second one and they are just so good to drive sensible and very practical and great residual value for resale too my first one was still worth £2.7k after 11 years you'd be luck if you could get 1500 for a corsa or fiesta after 9 years
I have one made in Swindon. You won't be dissapointed. Except when you drive the manual 1.4 on the Autobahn. A 6 th gear is a must.
Even screens have screens now
Just viewed this and missing my 2010 fit Sport which was totaled because of a side swipe and the suspension was ruined.
I have a Honda Fit 2012 and it’s a hybrid. It uses a lot less fuel than a manual. And it doesn’t have a 5 speed automatic but a CVT.
Hybrid rs with 7 speed cvt and 205hp/355Nm (177 wheel) from Japan. It's not slow in auto :-)
i have manual too and love it. it is gutless though going up hills, really slow
Thanks bro...just the review i needed ☺
You need to do food reviews. And computer reviews. Heck, review anything and I'll watch
Am thinking of getting a fit. Preferably in the 2010s. Not sure which one to get.
One with stick.
you ideably want the 2nd gen like this one, and with a manual
3rd gen will have more creature comforts and safety assistance but they still cost more and arent as fun to drive (the cargo hold is smaller because the 3rd gens have more legroom in the back instead)
personally i think the 3rd gen is hideous too
I love my third gen Fit, but yeah the body style...it tries too hard to look like a ten-year-old kid's drawing of "cool."
Although mine has less space behind the rear seat, it's enough for normal cargo. For anything big, I'll fold down the rear seat anyway.
The manual transmission is forgiving. The clutch is much more gentle than older Hondas.
It accelerates a bit better when you have it in S. The shifts get snappier when you use the flappy paddles.
The color is amazing. Somebody at my work has one this color.
Aztec Green is my favorite honda color
I love mine 2011 with 37,000 miles!❤❤❤
I drove a Mitsubishi Mirage from LA to San Francisco with even less power it was fine on the freeway
This guys a legend 😂💯💯
I just bought a 2010 Fit. It's an automatic transmission, which to me is great, I'm tired of manual transmissions, the car performance is great. Granted, it's not a race car.
I like your car color too, the blue is nice also, but I drive a taffeta white one which I also really like, I'm glad I don't drive a championship white type R integra though they got trashed pretty bad lol.
The sport mode or a manual transmission makes a big difference. Vtec doesn't kick in till 5000ish so like most hondas you want those high revs if you want to get anywhere
Love honda fit true about it's corner manouver very safe n stable
I love my blue raspberry metallic 😮💨
The best thing about Fit is it is not a rare car. So, it can be bought anytime soon or in the near future!
Yes, this is the color! 🎉
Very interesting, helpful and entertaining. Just today, I got this car. Question: How do you open the gas tank door?
There should be a button on the floor by the driver seat
Just press it from the outside , is manual.
you press the door on the outside of the car, then unscrew the cap and you have access
nice colour wish to change my honda fit to one like this
8:20 I can hide weed there. Nice Honda we love u.
My 2010 gets 36mpg city driving and close to 43 in the highway.
Your definitely good at using the English language
I don't get why they went from a 5 speed auto to a CVT. Especially since the CVT version is probably less fuel efficient than this five speed auto.🤷🏽
The CVT gets better fuel economy than fixed gear ratios. That's the nature of a CVT: it frees the engine to run at its optimal speed.
I love my little car 🤞🏼🤞🏼
That color is nice!
I need to kswap one of these.
Yes it's a true beauty indeed. Lovely
Thanks for the info
Hi thanks for the review.i am a new subscriber. I lobe your review.i drive this same car and colour but I need to paint a little scratch i have.do you jave idea of the link to buy the paint colour as a spray to correct my car.thanks in anticipation
My reply is late, but I want to point out that paint fades over time (and sunlight). I went to a body repair shop and asked advice. They suggested a shade of touch-up paint that would not precisely match my car, but was slightly more dull and thus would not be noticed. I did not have such a lovely color, though.
@@j_taylor Thanks for replying
Same exact steering wheel as the 8th gen civic
Or it can make your cold bottle of water a hot bottle of water and who doesn't like to drink hot water?
that file cubie is great for my drugs
I have a 2012 Honda Fit base with Bilstein B14's on it and......... well there's no seat adjustment :(
The Honda Fit Sport jazz is a more powerful car compared to a regular Honda Fit.
Not here in the US
0:04 AHright what's up guys
Why my 2012 Honda Fit gear stuck on park sometimes ?
U forgot to mention that these cars can DRIFT
I find they are one of the most overpriced used cars, which sucks cause I think I want one now
They hold their value stupidly well.
I shopped for a used Fit (before the pandemic made prices crazy). For the price of a 2-year-old used Fit, I could buy the same model brand new. So that's what I did.
Of course, the reason they keep their value is because...the cars last so well.
9:22 *second gen honda fit not the first. First gen is 2007-2008
Can this car transport big barrels from the wharf?
