If you're planning on buying one, pay attention to the frame, especially at the rear. It's prone to rotting at the rear struts. Otherwise, it's an excellent vehicle.
I have a 2010 fit sport and while it needs help getting out of it's own way(slow), the reliability and practicality is incredible. Never had a check engine light with 102k miles driven.
Ik22 spark plugs help a bit. They advance the timing slightly so it’s more responsive. A bottle or two of gum out complete tuneup brought back the like new response and performance of my 09 sport
the wife and i got a new fit in 2010. fast forward 11 years later and we still have it. 181K miles and we have never had the check engine light come on. Incredible little car!!! might run forever
@Lemmings gotta Go i bought mine 2 days ago. i dont have my license yet so it’s still at the dealer waiting to be picked up. i love it so much. it literally has 42 thousand miles and was serviced recently, so i hope it is a good purchase
I ended up buying this car (automatic) on Facebook market place just 2 days ago. First car to ever own , it cost me $4.5k since it has some scratches and dents and it’s 95k miles but it still works like a charm! I’ve been learning how to drive in a Toyota Tacoma 2022 , first car to had ever driven to practice was a cheverlot Silverado 2019 and I’ve even driven a Toyota RAV4. All of the newer year cars, but I definitely wanted to play it super safe and get a decent car as I know I’ll still be learning how to drive in the real world and I’m super glad 2009 honda fit was my first ever purchase ! It’s definitely not high tech which I’m already used to, but the fact it’s my very own car makes me super excited and this video helped me a lot to understand how to use and take care of her !
bought my '09 fit sport with 60k miles ..its about to turn 270k .. cat convertor CV shafts plugs and brakes /tires all ever been done with it ..gets 40 plus mpg highway ! Handles like a dream! mine is an automatic!
Nice! Amazing amount of miles and amazing that's all the maintenance that was done (a year ago). I'd love to find this gen. with a manual, but they're very hard to find. I've heard good reviews about the automatic, maybe a bit quieter on the highway so I would get one.
My dad handed me his Blue 2009 Sport model when he got his new truck, at first I didn’t think much of it other than it being a nice car, but I can’t lie, I haven’t had a single issue other than tire and oil maintenance, put a sub in it and replaced the audio system along with speakers and I’m fine having this car for another decade if I need to, props to Honda!
@@KK-hy6zn idk, but ew..I wouldn't buy anything in an automatic that you can get in a standard, if you can't get the new fit in a standard, buy a used one
Bought my 2010 fit sport with 88,000 miles for $5700 about a year ago... WAY better as a commuting vehicle than my old 2003 corolla was. On a normal commute to/from college I usually get around 38-45 mpg (really it depends how fast you’re going). Overall this is a very impressive and underrated car, and I’d recommend it to just about anyone 😁
Just snagged an 09 off craigslist with 77k and couldn't be happier. I'm obsessed with the 2nd gen Fit, all made in Japan, simple everything. Great review!!
Interesting. My 2005 model with 1.2 iDsi was still made in Japan. The same year they were made in China for the Dutch Market. Now I have the 2013 model from the UK.
Bought my 2009 5 speed stick, leather seated Honda Jazz in Thailand new. Moved back to the States and sold it to a friend. Returned in 2019 and bought it back. I LOVE my Jazzy Blue Nasty! Best car ever. 111,000 kilometers and I have to replace the first part ever on it, a serpentine belt. This thing is a beast.
Just got a 2010 Honda Fit Sport with 104,000 miles for $7000. Had a few minor sratches and insignificant dings, one small round one I can pull out with a paintless dent repair. Still feel like it was an incredible value for what I got. Love the practicality as well as the handling of the car. It handles corners with ease even at higher speeds. Threw an HKS hi-power muffler on it just for fun and it's been a blast.
Got the same model (2009) same color in LX last week with 110k on odo. Your review contributed to the purchase, so thank you! Love the drive. Plan to drive it for another 100k at least.
Good review. No need to make any excuses for the GE8 my friend, buyers new what they were getting into. Rock solid reliability, lost entry cost, and less to go wrong. It is no Si, and never claimed to be. I have maintained mine well, and it has been a great car for me for the last 110k miles. The same year Civic was more powerful and well appointed, BUT they had some (some serious) repair issues. I have driven mine fairly hard and have suffered no mechanical breakdowns whatsoever. Simple really, I worked in a Honda service department and needed a simple bullet proof econobox. It was very rare to see a 2nd gen Fit in the shop for anything other than normal maintenance so I choose a 2012 Fit auto (because clutches in stop and go driving sucks at my age). I do not regret purchasing it at all. Do I miss my 2009 Si? You bet. But this does just fine. Just change the fluids as required, and the trans fluid every 30k (more often than the maint guide suggests btw) and it will be around for a very long time. A bargain if you ask me. Paid off a long time ago, and still drives great! The SOCH engine uses old simple technology and is a workhorse. Highly recommend this car!
This review is great! I just bought one a used 2009 base model with YES 5 speed manual. I gave the seller the asking price of $3600 as I thought it was worth it for a car with exacly 100k miles on it and virtually no Rust. Love how versatile it is but bought it as it is Rock Solidly built like my Honda Snowthrower. Looking forward to having a few years out of it quite a value!
Good review. We own two Fits (‘07 with 170k and ‘09 with 65k) and would-without hesitation-replace either with another Fit should one be totaled in an accident. You nailed it in your little summary statement at the end. Well done!
My 09 Sport manual has been amazing over 12 years/122k miles - literally not a single issue. I baby it as daily commuter in CT and it gets 42 mpg - just driver, no junk in it, tires normal 32#, rarely over 65mpg. Headlamps hazed over at 10 years so replaced those. Run AMSoil and doesn’t burn a drop. I’m sooo pleased with this car I hope it keeps going for another 5 years. Paint and trim have held up better than my wife’s ‘13 Kia Rio. Get one if you can one - enjoy!
I have a 2010 sport with 108K miles. Only things I've done besides scheduled maintenance was replace the ac compressor (I live in hot weather) and the passenger door actuator. I also recently ordered replacement headlights for $260 because mine are pretty hazy. But overall it's the best car i've ever owned. I actually owned a 2006 kia rio lol but this thing is so much better.
Meanwhile my moms used 2013 Kia Rio she got with like 40k miles on it, and is now at 80k is nearly immaculate inside and out lol. Then my 2013 Fit which was owned by a dentist and his wife has 47k miles with scratches, paint chips, and dents in some of the weirdest places. Scratch the underside/sides of the door as well with your fingernail, and the paint is easily damaged. Almost burned thru the clear coat as well trying to remove a dealer emblem. That’s when I learned Honda actually has some of the worst paint. I’ve seen too many with sun damage, paint chips, peeling, etc. A good car isn’t without it’s issues though I guess.
I got a 2010 sport auto as my first car and I love it. I took my road test in it and passed in NYC thanks to it's compact size and good visibility. I put 11k miles on it so far and the only major issue I had is that my front right axle broke while trying to go up a fairly steep ascent with backseats folded and loaded with 2 student's back-to-college cargo. There is a rubber bushing on the axles and rust tends to accumulate there. Honda has since issued a recall for that (late 2020), so if you end up buying one of these, get those axles replaced immediately! Other than that, it's a great car with amazing practicality. I hauled 4 by 4s from Home Depot and a 8 feet long classroom style table with it once. Granted I had to keep the passenger seat flat and my hatch partly open with bungee cords and the drive was only about 6 miles, but you could never do that with any sedans or other subcompacts. Love Honda.
I bought a 2009 Fit\Sport brand new and when it was destroyed by a hit and run rear end accident it had just shy of 350 000 miles. Other than normal wear and tear items...tires, brakes, plugs, oil, etc, normal service items, etc. The only thing we had to replace was the Cruze control switch and the radiator fans...that was it. The Fit was a fantastic car the it never left us stranded. We even drove the car from Florida to Alaska and back. Great car. We will be buying another brand new one once the insurance settles with us.
PROUD owner of my FAVORITE car I’d ever owned; 2018 Honda Fit Sport (3rd generation, GK5). I was lucky enough to find one brand new at the Honda dealership in December 2017. Working musician; this thing is, legitimately, like an enclosed pickup truck. Drums, Bass, PA, lights (not *all* at the same time, but still)… NO problems. Bonus: I also occasionally tow a small trailer… no issues. Double Bonus: Fun to drive! Love the 6-speed manual transmission (despite the suspension change). I looked forward to it, I have owned it ever since as the original owner, and I absolutely planned never to ever, ever ever, ever ever ever get rid of it. Cheers, all! \m/, 😊 ,\m/
I bought my 2009 fit sport 5spd manual new.One of the first built of the new generation. Now have 103,000 miles on it.The worst problem I ever had was when the cv axle snapped in half.Otherwise only some minor annoyances.Plan on keeping it for many more years.I average around 34-36 miles to the gallon. Update it's now 15 years old and still very reliable. Planning on many more years.
My parents have this same fit, and it’ll probably be mine once I get my license. I’ve been driving it the most out of the 2 cars we have, and it’s such a fun car to drive. Especially since it’s a manual.
I’ve got the 2010 model as an automatic and I love it it’s orange and sunshine looks great on it also it’s just cool I love it I always said it’s my favorite car cuz of the beautiful color and it’s nice and warm inside with sunlight as well just a great car mine has almost 300K miles
I got an 09 base kissing 200k, and with a few more suspension upgrades it really is fun around track which helps and it was a true soldier at my last track day which ended up being over a 400 mile round trip.
I'm currently in the market for a subcompact car with a lot of cargo capacity, durability and long-term reliability, and this video was a huge factor in convincing me the Honda Fit Sport was the vehicle for me. Thanks!
If you buy it, you will never regret it. It's so much better than any other option. I have owned several small cars, 4 hatchbacks. This thing blows them away.
I drive a 15 EX and I actually prefer this design but, I'm satisfied with my 3rd gen. It's fast, it has a sun roof and even though it's not compatible with Android Auto I'm liking the infotainment it has.
I'm still driving a 2011 Fit Sport, manual transmission. I'm a Honda loyalist, and I previously had an '85 Accord SE-i (my parents were WAY overgenerous), ''88 CRX-Si, and a '99 Civic EX (all manuals). The Fit has given me the least trouble by far. I'm a cheap bastard and could afford better, but holy crap the money I saved and invested instead. I think I can easily get another 5-6 years out of this, and it's zippy enough I feel like it's totally equal to my old CRX. And so much room!
Even Scotty Kilmer agrees that the Fit is one of the best small cars you can own. Made me happy because I have a 2010 Sport. I recently drove mine from eastern AZ to Alaska via a few detours. Total distance just over 4000 miles. Average fuel consumption: 35mpg and that is with a Thule rocket box on top. At the moment it has 174k miles on it, has never seen any other services besides oil and filter changes, which I do religiously myself. However, it did have (and still does) some minor quality flaws: The AC on/off button stopped working, so a Haagen Dazs ice cream stick needs to be inserted to keep the AC going. An identical issue befell the Cruise Control switch, which stopped functioning around 170k miles. I have a feeling it will cruise on to 300k miles.
Recently inherited a 2011 Sport with 37,000 miles from dad. He intended to tow it behind his RV and had the towbar bracket installed, tested it for 10 miles and never towed it again. The Fit automatic transmission is rare because you can tow it with all wheels down after following a special start sequence. My other vehicle is a supercab F150 that is reliable but getting old.
"The Fit automatic transmission is rare because you can tow it with all wheels down after following a special start sequence." What is this sequence you mentioned? I got a 2011 Sport last year. Whoever owned it used to tow it, too. When I tell people, they're shocked because it's an automatic.
I got the same model model as you but purple mines looking a little ruff got in a minor accident scratched the bumper a little but she still running like a champ pushing almost 280000 miles very good car
Nice review. I actually just bought a 2009 Fit this week before seeing this. Ours is a Sport, manual, with 112k miles and I think we got a great deal at $3,600. It has a couple of small rust bubbles starting but this is Northern Michigan and everything rusts. Price included an extra set of wheels with snow tires. There are a couple of minor rattles but it was 12 degrees outside when I test drove it. The shifter just reminds me of why Honda always had such a great rep for shifters. It’s like butter.
I found the center console with armrest new on e-bay for the Honda Fit for $44. "Rotatable Storage Box Armrest Center Console For Honda Fit Jazz 2009-2013 12 11" Brand: XUKEY. Made in California.
This used to be my car!!! You made me miss it. I miss my Manual 2009 Honda Fit! I really like to find a subcompact that's kind of close to this. Ahhhhh.... I'm a fan.
It's definitely hard to find a modern fit replacement. The closest thing I can think of would probably be a new civic hatchback manual or maybe the 2019 fit? At least you got to have some fun with one at some point! I miss my old civic SI dearly but my needs out grew the car, it happens😪
My ex had the first gen. It was fun but certainly less refined. The 2nd is great. All it's missing is a bit of power. With some minor parts and mods it makes for a surprisingly good handling car. I'm either keeping it and going forced induction or buying a 3rd gen Mini. I've been driving it around for a year. Steady 32mpg on the manual through mountainous roads.
@@humanimal5527 am from a 3rd world country lol so this is top tier for me. Used to be dreaming about ferraris & lambos when I was younger but now I just want a practical and reliable car.
I am soooo glad that this car gets all the sub-compact attention and no one even pays attention to the Yaris. It keeps the Yaris cheaper and honestly... I think it's better than the Fit.
Bought mine new in 2009.. still going strong with 120k miles.. .fits an incredible amount of stuff .. I can fit a 9.5 foot board inside.....i live on an island with crazy gas prices.. I'm currently getting 42 mpg.. I'd buy another one in a minute after this one.. one major drawback is it's very low to the ground and it's not good for rough dirt roads.. otherwise recommend it highly to any budget minded buyer.. I've saved many thousands over the time I've owned it compared to an SUV...
I'm considering buying a 2009 Honda fit base, low milage, Google and the dealer say it doesn't get over 35 highway, yet the newer models say 40, this video, he says 33. Any idea why? How do you get your number?
@@b.l.powers4319 not sure why...could be many factors such as driving style ( i never gun the gas pedal...if i do i notice the gas milage goes down right away)...or climate ( i live on Marthas Vineyard island and get closer to 30 mpg during tbe winter months )...but Ive been getting a consistant 42.5 mpg since at least June and there really arent even any major highways here...my AC has been broken for a whike which might be helping
@@245webster ah, broken a.c. would certainly help lower milage. As would a blown engine, I could tow it with my plow horse, 100 mpg! lol. Thanks for the input, if I buy it I will certainly go light on the pedal. I read a.c. often breaks on these, but I can use a 12 volt fan...
@@245webster what trouble? They still open and close, right? My subarus window goes out of the track sonetimes, you need to stand There and guide the glass, pulling it while pressing the button.
This might sound crazy to you. I remember looking at such car in the showroom. That rectangular slab in the speedometer centre looks like a gravestone in scene 3:34 Plus, I didn't like having to look into the the tachometer and fuel gauge that sit at the bottom of the barrel. Honda used to make attractive instrument panel, miss those days.
I agree! The new fit is also an excellent car but it looks like a frumpy 2014 honda civic in the front and I can't get over it. It doesn't have the athletic stance of the older one either.
It's kinda funny that I liked the 3rd Honda Fit out of all of em... And after owning a 3rd Generation Fit for over a year my opinion still stands. The honda fit for the looks entirely is weirdly OK - Good at best. Great if you just want a car/First car and yes, the 2015 Fit is the first car I own in my life. All is fun to drive around town and they can be suited to be a decent track car once you start upgrading it!
Love my '09. My mini-minivan. Body so thin you can dent it with your thumb, and low front overhang. but fun to drive. Runs out of oomph at 85 mph, but the power at the low end is where you can use it. ?who needs 85+ anyway? Better mileage than my hybrid, can set 5 comfortably and grat capacity with seats folded
Bought mine with 223k miles and love the car 🚗, its my daly , i drive it most in the highway and i to be honest its comfortable and not to loud like this guy say it is , now in the street if the streets are rough then yes it is but for what it is men you cant beat it
Do you still have the car? I saw you got your with a lot of miles I’m hesitant to buy one I saw worth 170000 miles because of the mileage number but can you give me feedback on the car?
@@LadyJokerDiaz yes yes i still have it , lots of compliments people would try to even buy it of me lol but no im not selling it , i tinted the windows to 5% then throw some white rims and man what a change , its now sitting at 269k miles since i bought it and believe me it still running like it should , shifting smoothly i just took it to a 6 hour drive back and forward, its not a fast car or but its fast enough ill say lol … the best reliable car ive ever owned .. im keeping it till it dies then buying another transmission and motor if it ever dies that is lol
The best car I have ever owned. Fun. Modern. Well made. Best seats. If they put more insulation in it and maybe the 1.8L engine, it would be perfect. Suoer rooooomy too
2013 Azure blue 1.4. with auto airco, ESP, cruise control and tinted windows. Upgraded from my 2005 1.2 iDsi. 100 hp and discs front and back. Made in Swindon UK. 5 speed.
My brother had a Pontiac Vibe for several years. I found it to feel like it was underpowered which was aggravating on freeway approaches. I am thinking about finding a used Fit for a daily driver, which in my case won't be like it used to be since I am now retired. I anticipate it to be a good local driver when compared to my 1500 Ram. (Good for heavy snow or moving large objects, but poor for fuel economy.). The biggest positive is I can get a bumper sticker showing a mad cat face with word "Hissy" to go above the name badge on the rear.
3:31 You had a low tire or tires when this was recorded. I remember when I got mine and I wasn't familiar with the low tire indicator on the instrument cluster. That light is definitely useful.
I think the one of the sensors was broken, it would blink upon startup. I actually think some of the steering return problems could be from an improper alignment (caster)
Have a 2009 Fit sport manual, bought it new. Only problem I have had was the AC died, and needed replaced. Also for Florida the AC is a little underpowered. Fun car to drive, probably keep it another ten years, At 103,000 miles it’s just broken in.😁
TEST OUT THE AC, Honda's of this era are notorious for bad AC, let it run for awhile and see if anything changes. Other than that and some cosmetics, I don't think there is too much to look for. I personally I always recommend taking it to an independent mechanic before purchasing. All dealerships will let you do that usually! Best of luck.
Check all rubber for wear on hoses, belts, tires and the like. Check all fluids, especially engine oil. Look for metal shavings. If there's any metal in the oil, walk away and don't go back. Test drive with the radio off and listen for any rattling or squeaking. Put it on a highway and get it up to about 50 mph/100 kmh. When safe hit the brakes and feel for pull to either side and listen for grinding. A licensed mechanic's once over is always a good move as well.
"Small cars do not handle well"...??? Really?? Like any sports car, such as Ferrari, Porsche, or the likes of a Miata or Lotus Elise? And the no-return-to-center steering wheel...get an alignment. It works fine. I owned a brand new 2009 Sport MT. Simply one of the best and most fun-to-drive cars I've owned. It's an absolute blast to drive.
It was aligned fine, it's just light, the return to center was slow because of it. If you actually watched the review instead of trying to take lines out of context, maybe you would have picked up that I also thought it was awesome to drive!
@@Realistick It's called a critique. I did watch the entire video, (thank you). As not only an owner of one for 9 years, I've driven all 3 generations of the N. American Fits and they don't have the return-to-center issue as your car exhibited, so something is off. You want to make sure since your sample was used with over 80k miles on it, that you don't mis-report things that are not the car's fault. Instead of taking my critique or constructive point of observance personally, just take note and respond congenially. Your review was very good and thorough, btw.
It was a certified car that went through an inspection, something might have been off but it didn't feel wrong in the moment. If I could do it again, I'd mention that but there was no way I would know it and it was a minor note at that. I was more annoyed with trying to take my comment of "small cars don't usually handle well" out of context. I was pretty clearly referring to small cars like the Nissan versa, chevy aveo, Toyota yaris, not exotic cars. I'm glad you enjoyed the review but your initial comment came off condescending and a little out of pocket. If you just said "I had a fit and it didn't have any issues returning to center, something might be wrong with that one" then I'd say oh, my bad, it passed an inspection so I assumed it was how it should be, thank you. I can take critique but i think you could have approached me better if that was your intent.
Are you in Kentucky? Fields and white horse 🐎 fences. My 2007 Honda Fit just turned 156,000 miles. I want to get 200,000 miles out of it. It's a great little car but you MUST keep up with maintenance. The car does not maintain itself just because it's a Honda. My Fit is at the dealer every 5,000 miles for maintenance.
Maintenance every 5k miles is a good idea for any car! Even the ones like Audis that tell you it's needed every 10k miles. I'm in Bloomington Indiana so close enough!
I really don't know which to get a suzuki swift 2012 or 2009 Honda Jazz? very difficult. I like the swift because it's a fun car. But the jazz trumps it in space.
I haven't connected to an old Honda system but most of the late 2000s cars used a voice activated system (at least in mitsubishi and mazda), maybe you can just hit the voice control button and tell it to connect new device? I don't have any other suggestions than scouring the internet, I'm sorry :(
I know this car suits mostly for city drive. But can you used it also for long drive?. Like 300kms range of long drive. Cause I needed one that I can used if ever I visited my parents, and they live 6-7hrs away.
I drive a 6 hour round trip every Monday with no issues. I also drove it from chicago to florida in 18 hours straight ua-cam.com/video/5hS_tlLtVtg/v-deo.html On the way back the cat started to over heat, but that was to be expected after driving 2000 continuous miles at a high speed.
I'm a fan of Honda Fit, but my concern is when one want to convert to run on CNG (I mean to run both on gasoline and CNG). How can one manage the space for gas cylinder and other conversions' modifications. Or, Does Honda produced CNG Powered Honda Fit? My name is Muhammad Aminu Abubakar commenting from Nigeria. Due to governments' policies changes, the government directed importation of CNG powered vehicles and conversion of existing vehicles in the country CNG powered vehicles.
What's the engine is it 1500cc the 2020 ?
Ik22 spark plugs help a bit. They advance the timing slightly so it’s more responsive. A bottle or two of gum out complete tuneup brought back the like new response and performance of my 09 sport

That’s great, i would definitely replace the speakers if i had a bit of extra money but the base speakers are surprisingly good.
I love my 09 Fit. Happiest little car in the world, and drop the back seats for the happiest little cargo van in the world.
I have an 09 fit with 129000 miles. I love it
I bought a 2009 Fit Sport with the 5spd Auto back in June, since then I’ve put 5k miles on it and have been pleased with the car every day.
My wife has an orange 09 fit sport 5 spd standard, We love it
Doesn't the 2009 ge8 RS come with 7spd auto?
Got this same exact one and loving it ! Upgraded from a 2002 Honda Accord coupe who transmission blew out. It’s deff a fun drive , parking made easy.
Thanks for the feedback! I have an 07 SI, lots of fun, lots of little issues too, I'm glad the fit has been doing you well.
That's a great deal, congrats! :)
Dang, my '11 sport manual never gets more than 32 in the city. But, ok, I drive it aggressively. It never complains.
Love Honda.
I can go to honda and they will replace the axles on my 09 fit for free because of the recall?
I believe this issue is only on the automatics. My 2009 is a manual and there is no boot/split area to rust.
Wow, your really good at reviews. You cover everything I can think of as usability.

You cutie pie🍰🍰🍰🍒🍒❤️💕💕👍😎😎😎
Just bought a 2013 Honda Fit as my first car last week. Picking it up Thursday with 35,800 kms on it. Can’t wait!
We have a Honda fit with 181,000 miles and runs great. Fit sport manual. Love it.
I have a 2010 and the reliably is incredible !
I just picked up a 2010 manual with 52k miles on it. Im hoping to get 150k out of it, which I am sure will be easy!
@@jbeezostl you'll get 250k at least
I bought a brand new 2017 exl navi passion berry pearl...18000 miles late...still loving it!
thanks for doing this! im getting this car this year from a friend
I have 2007 Honda fit with 375.850 thousands miles has never given me any problems
Don't forget it has a timing chain!!! Love this
your video is spot on
i got mine and its been a blast to drive and haul stuff in
I drive a 15 EX and I actually prefer this design but, I'm satisfied with my 3rd gen.
I still can't believe that they have discontinued the Fit. I've had two and I've loved both.
Best realistic review...finally found a channel that do a most realistic review...
I have 09 fit sport 5spd manual. Love it! Bought it from CarMax. I take care of it and love spending time with it. Thanks for a very enjoyable review!
I'm still driving my Honda Jazz (fit) 2011 with 310 000 km. No problems what so ever. Love it.
"The Fit automatic transmission is rare because you can tow it with all wheels down after following a special start sequence."
What is this sequence you mentioned? I got a 2011 Sport last year. Whoever owned it used to tow it, too. When I tell people, they're shocked because it's an automatic.
@@JaycRam procedure is in owners manual. Follow it to the letter, this pertains to the 5 speed automatic, not the later CVT transmissions
I got the same model model as you but purple mines looking a little ruff got in a minor accident scratched the bumper a little but she still running like a champ pushing almost 280000 miles very good car
honda jazz fuel consumption HOW IS !!!
Sheesh, that is a very good deal, congratulations
Thanks, it’s for my son’s 16th birthday. Trying to get him hooked on non-boring cars. ;-)
@@stevelovescars Off to a good start!
I found the center console with armrest new on e-bay for the Honda Fit for $44. "Rotatable Storage Box Armrest Center Console For Honda Fit Jazz 2009-2013 12 11" Brand: XUKEY. Made in California.
Thanks! I'm always on the lookout for useful mods. Hmm looks nice but it does use the center cup holders?
This used to be my car!!! You made me miss it. I miss my Manual 2009 Honda Fit! I really like to find a subcompact that's kind of close to this. Ahhhhh.... I'm a fan.
It's definitely hard to find a modern fit replacement. The closest thing I can think of would probably be a new civic hatchback manual or maybe the 2019 fit? At least you got to have some fun with one at some point! I miss my old civic SI dearly but my needs out grew the car, it happens😪
This was a really satisfying well put together review.. thanks!
You can use 205-50-16 tires on the sport with no issues. Handling is great with this size!
Remember.
Narrow=fuel economy.
I'm taking a look at one of these today, I'm super, super excited to check it out!!!!
That Fit is in great shape.
U can parallel park it anywhere.
Been dreaming about this car since college.
Bro if you graduated from college you should be dreaming about nicer cars than this lol.
@@humanimal5527 am from a 3rd world country lol so this is top tier for me. Used to be dreaming about ferraris & lambos when I was younger but now I just want a practical and reliable car.
Great review! I'm watching this for the 3rd time already, trying to decide between a Fit or a 2nd gen CR-V, and it's a difficult choice!
The diff?
Power
Or
Economy?
Choose wisely.
I am soooo glad that this car gets all the sub-compact attention and no one even pays attention to the Yaris. It keeps the Yaris cheaper and honestly... I think it's better than the Fit.
I have a 2010 Honda Fit Sport manual transmission with 100k on it and so far I have had no problems. I love it. It's a great car
Reply
The rear of the car logs so much better than the front. Itself honestly just those headlights that make it look so weird
And they hold a decent value.
B. L. Powers
Ok good luck
Also had trouble with power windows control
Otherwise very happy with it
@@245webster what trouble? They still open and close, right? My subarus window goes out of the track sonetimes, you need to stand There and guide the glass, pulling it while pressing the button.
This might sound crazy to you. I remember looking at such car in the showroom. That rectangular slab in the speedometer centre looks like a gravestone in scene 3:34
Plus, I didn't like having to look into the the tachometer and fuel gauge that sit at the bottom of the barrel. Honda used to make attractive instrument panel, miss those days.
i might be getting this same one (color too) on monday. i’d prefer a different color but it’d be my first car so i’m happy anyway!
Awesome. I got an orange one as my first car and it's awesome!
@@LaplacianFourier my l wife has an orange 09 fit sport 5 spd standard we love it, love the looks, and it's really reliable, no issues 179k miles.
2nd gen Fit is easily the best looking Fit. The new one looks like an ugly MPV.
I agree! The new fit is also an excellent car but it looks like a frumpy 2014 honda civic in the front and I can't get over it. It doesn't have the athletic stance of the older one either.
I like first gen. My 2007 Sport just got a new clutch, feels great!
Yip I've got a 2009 EX model and it's great!

I wish they made an modern manual version of this for the U.S.
Still have my 07 fit. Only problem is I don’t drive it enough any anymore and my battery dies
@@Realistick Ahh I gotcha.
Still have my 09, the air cond doesnt work, the rear hatch latch doesnt work, it burns all the oil during the summer....
but i still love driving it.
Have a 2009 Fit sport manual, bought it new. Only problem I have had was the AC died, and needed replaced. Also for Florida the AC is a little underpowered. Fun car to drive, probably keep it another ten years, At 103,000 miles it’s just broken in.😁
All the glass is great, but in FL, it must feel like a greenhouse in there. Tint the windows?
Great review, I'm thinking about buying a 2011 with 59K at a local honda dealership is there anything I should look for in getting this semi old dude?
With the back seats folded down and some thick padding in the back is a great place to do some dogging.
Dogging?
I HAVE A09 AND ITS A GREAT CAR..
Bingeing on why I made the best decision ever to buy this Jazz
This is my first cat but automatic, my ac is a little loud but so far no issues.
I really don't know which to get a suzuki swift 2012 or 2009 Honda Jazz? very difficult. I like the swift because it's a fun car. But the jazz trumps it in space.

Hey I recently bought my Honda Fit 2009.....I’m failing to connect my Bluetooth as it’s written Japanese
I haven't connected to an old Honda system but most of the late 2000s cars used a voice activated system (at least in mitsubishi and mazda), maybe you can just hit the voice control button and tell it to connect new device? I don't have any other suggestions than scouring the internet, I'm sorry :(
this was a great review, thank you
I know this car suits mostly for city drive. But can you used it also for long drive?. Like 300kms range of long drive. Cause I needed one that I can used if ever I visited my parents, and they live 6-7hrs away.
I drive a 6 hour round trip every Monday with no issues.
I also drove it from chicago to florida in 18 hours straight ua-cam.com/video/5hS_tlLtVtg/v-deo.html
On the way back the cat started to over heat, but that was to be expected after driving 2000 continuous miles at a high speed.
I'm a fan of Honda Fit, but my concern is when one want to convert to run on CNG (I mean to run both on gasoline and CNG). How can one manage the space for gas cylinder and other conversions' modifications.
Or,
Does Honda produced CNG Powered Honda Fit?
My name is Muhammad Aminu Abubakar commenting from Nigeria.
Due to governments' policies changes, the government directed importation of CNG powered vehicles and conversion of existing vehicles in the country CNG powered vehicles.
