I have had restless leg Syndrome most of my adult life. I'm 60 and it started around 21 Yrs old and boy it's been horrible. I do follow you Doc and believe you are right. You are the only Doctor I have listened to that realy explains it very well. I wish you where in my town I would defiantly come see you. People don't realy know how terrible the feeling is especially when its every day and night you can't sleep you cant concentrated due to the feeling your having in you're legs. I hope someday I don't need to take pills to help me make it through the day and night. Thank you again for your professional opinion. God Bless
@@Andersonpodiatrycenter Thank you for your response. I wish I could but you are 1500miles away and I have never flew. Maybe our hospitals in Morgantown westvirginia will be able some day to help people like me. Thank you
HI Dr loving your videos ,i have very cold feet at rest even in summer ,I were alpaca socks and woolen Ugg boots but my feet are still like ice..When i see a DR they just say ive got poor circulation,no explanation at all.I also suffer from R.L.S .I will be looking into your surgery here in Australia Thank you .Keep your videos coming Great job.
Dr. Anderson, I have dealt with rls for 30+ years. I experience the rls discomfort primarily between my glutes & knees. It looks like your procedures occur in areas below the knee. Do you see rls patients experiencing discomfort below their knees? Or like me, in the hamstring/flute area?
Yes the vast majority of patient with RLS present with symptoms from the knee down into the ankle area. Unfortunately what I do has very little impact in the majority of the symptom's are above the knee.
Thank you. I've had rls for years and its always in my left leg, or it travels to my trunk. It very rarely goes or comes from my right leg. This actually does make sense. Mine has no pain whatsoever. The way I have described it is if you took a gumband or rubber band and slowly stretched it and kept pulling and pulling till it snaps and you Must move. The movement is involuntary. I cannot, not move. I jump around and switch positions and it stops for a minute or 2. I've actually timed it. Then I can feel it coming again. I've tried all kind of strange movements and positions in bed but NOTHING stops it till I get up (again) and walk around. I've been on ropineral for years and have slowly had to increase the dose, which I don't mind, I just want to control it. I carry around a few different doses with me as I've gotten stuck somewhere overnight and it was just agony. My sleep is interrupted constantly if I don't have the medication. I often thought if I get exhausted enough it would allow sleep to take over but it doesn't. I never thought about the veins and bloodstream honestly. You are a good teacher. I hope you are a professor somewhere.
Very interesting .Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it
The explanation for the urge to move makes so much sense!
Thanks.
