How did Kit look like this just 3 years ago I just watched him in heart stopper and omg he’s grown up so much
This movie was filmed in a bit before the movie came out so this was him probably like 4-5 years ago
He's in Heartstopper??!!!!! I never watched it only heard of it I'm !!!!!!!
@@obviouslyaplatypus6878 I think he said in a recent interview it was 3 years ago. He was 15 back then but looked 12.
If I'm not wrong Elton was supposed to be 14 in this scene what would put Kit in the right age to play him. But I'm not certain so please correct me if I am wrong.
Frrr
why does no one talk about the sheer amazingness of Kit Conner's performance and the amazing transition to Taron
I couldn’t hear his similarity to Elton’s voice
@@PonchiOFFICIAL Have you ever heard Elton's voice when he was a kid?
@@PonchiOFFICIAL you stupid.
It was a cut from black... what amazing transition where you watching?
@@chand911 went from small him to big him and it was pogger
When Taaron emerged from the fence, that was the moment this movie hooked me. Rocketman is one of the best films this year. Such a fun, inventive musical. This is coming from a guy who has never liked musicals
not in the opening sequence where he walks down a corridor in this outlandish orange angel/demon costume to arrive.....at rehab?
@@benzaiten933 It's Elton.
Same
@@benzaiten933 And then totally blindsided everybody? Everybody in the theater was cheering when he said "I am Elton Hercules John" And then he comes out with "and I am an alcholic." The whole theater went silent. Amazing shut down!
I'm still not a fan of musicals, but I'm a fan of music itself, and being able to see how these people made it to the top and became superstars is awesome. Rocketman, Bohemian Rhapsody, The Dirt, I need more movies like these for other groups. AC/DC, The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, The Who, The Doors, Guns n Roses, I'll take them all. I need more!
I just love how his part almost looks un-choreographed like he’s just straight up vibing with them
Almost like the stage director told taron “bro, just vibe”
Howard T. Duck yes exactly
You know, I was thinking as someone who loves musical theatre, while I love the music, his somewhat spastic movements compared to the high-choreography was distracting. But now that I think about it, it would be weirder if he wasn’t totally vining to the intense atmosphere. I know I would in his shoes. Thanks for the different perspective, @Hannah Sagat
@@Howard_T_Duck and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Yes, it works really well with him, and everything else going on. Also, Taron may not be a classically trained dancer. A trained dancer could instantly be able to shift their weight and center of gravity constantly with ease. Taron is just SO talented a performer, that he, while not dancing, totally enhances the number Anyway!! An Example of what I mean: Chicago 's last number, "Hot Honey Rag."
Renee' Zellweger did a heck of a job, but Catherine Zeta-Jones was a professional dancer. When you watch them dance together, watch Catherine's shoulders and Sternum - she's totally in control. And the artistry of her arms, they're so fluid.......sigh.
ua-cam.com/video/SFDI0PttvrU/v-deo.html
The cinematography in this number from rocketman is amazing 😉!
Too bad the dancing sequences are cringe as fk LOL
@@shambolicrhetoric6143 it's a musical, the dancing sequences are almost always cringy
@@mariant4673 I also firmly believe Elton's life is full of cringeworthy and impromptu dance sequences.
Shambolic Rhetoric really?
I can't believe it's all a single shot, or at least two long ones
Did the kid who played the young Elton get any recognition? He was ace
HeyHolly'sOnline of course he was credited but not featured as much as his older counterpart. He was superb in the film though and I do believe he will be successful in his future acting career.
I hope
I hope he gets some kind of nomination for supporting role but he’s going to get overshadowed no doubt
Actually, he’s going on to voice act as Pan in the new ‘His Dark Materials’ series from BBC... and now I can’t stop imagining a little weasel jumping around singing this song 😝
He’s in the new goldfinch film I think
I remember watching rocketman for the first time and I was so impressed with this kid playing young Elton and now he's playing Nick in Netflix's Heartstopper, and I'm so excited and proud of him, he's so great ❤❤❤
Because of kit Connor im here hahah kits voice oh my God 😭🤭😳🥰
I remember watching rocket man after it came out wondering who was playing younger Elton John because I wanted to be friends with him as we are the same age, and now he's super famous 😭missed my chance ahaha

Sing: Taron sings an Elton John song
Kingsman: Elton John appears in the movie
Rocketman: Taron becomes elton
Coincidence I think not
Yeah, funny how that works
I believe Elton said something about Kingsman being where him and taron met, and he was like, "this is the guy"
It’s like a Pokémon evolution!
Next taron becomes elton in real life
Kent Inson he also sang “I’m still standing” in the animated film, Sing. He is the gorilla in the film.
i need a full version of just kit connor singing this song, that kid is amazing and I cant believe how much he has grown up!

When Taron starts singing in this...ooh, chills!
Then again I shouldn’t be surprised - we Welsh have a pretty good rep when it comes to singing.
Really?🤔
Same with Scots
Freddie mercury has lost his Shoe That’s very interesting🧐
(I have found Freddie Mercury’s lost shoe)
Darth Sader Well, clearly you’ve never heard of Shirley Bassey, Katherine Jenkins, Bryn Terfal, Tom Jones, Wynn Evans, John Owen Jones, Catherine Zeta Jones (who got an Oscar for Chicago) to name a few...
All Welsh, all wonderful singers. Not for nothing is it sometimes called “the land of song.” And now Taron’s joining them.
Amen!
The transition from Kit to Taron is awesome.
Great Chuck Berry/Elvis Presley influence portrayed by Kit. Awesome how Reginald was able to create his own sound reaching his adult years, good job Taron for portraying his life.
Bravo! This movie will win some awards.

I love that they didn't make Elton look like someone who knows perfectly how to dance, they just showed him as a guy who is passionate about music and having a great time, it's nice that he was just hoping and running around
My heart just DIED. Mini Kit Connor is ADORABLE. HOW DID I NOT KNOW THIS VERSION HAD HIM IN IT??? He is just too cute. I plan to watch the movie, Taron seems super cool in some of the clips I've watched.
The way Taron Egerton moves is perfect
Thanks for the likes
Less Than 10 subscribers Taron Egerton is perfect!
Easily my favorite scene in the entire film, what an amazing sequence. I’m not sure if this was intended by the choreographer/director, but I love 1:40 how a girl is leading him by the hand to follow, and then is cut off by a guy dancing at him, almost alluringly? Then again at 1:53, they make deep eye contact and Elton looks away almost giddy, a little nervous. A subtle nod to his sexuality later in the film. I think that subtlety is brilliant.
Yes, and the fact he leaves the pub a confident, cocky boy, but appears through the fence, a slightly gawky teenager/young man.
The look of amazement on his face, and the way he mixes but doesn't mix, with the dancers. His awkward dancing style, and out of step rhythm, perhaps showing that he's an atypical member of the working class, not quite fitting in, just looking in fascination from the outside, never quite there. Itself a subtle hint at his homoerotic nature, still in its infancy, maybe?
@@onastick2411 I see it!
It didn’t seem all that subtle to me 😂 but it was enjoyable
I love how the whole Taron bit is one-shot, as is the Kit Connor bit. There aren’t any cuts except the transition!
There's definitely a couple hidden cuts, but in all fairness I was also looking out for them, as a whole though this is by far the best part of the film cinematography wise imo
Well I can see 7 cuts in the whole video, but it is really good
I love at 3:52 how when he’s down the mother is clapping and nods in approval. In certain parts of the movie she shows she still loves him
She does (somewhere)
She probably did in her own way. At least she did support him. She was probably one of those parents who got more critical as she got older. The way Elton described her, she reminds me of a parent that is so hyper critical that she makes you want to slam your head into a wall. I've seen patents like that.
Love this! 42/M/ married 9 years…sober today from alcohol and Meth…14 months/ 23 days…watched this movie in treatment and absolutely LOVED it…it definitely helped my healing process 💚💚💚👍
I'm so glad this was uploaded in its extensive version. Fantastic dancing and singing from Taron who looks adorable with the glasses. The kid who plays young Reg is damn good too.
The genius of turning this into a musical is just
This was the first time I've ever heard Taron Egerton sing. I went out of my way to make sure the first time was when I watched this movie just so I could be in the moment, and I was blow away. God, I really think he deserves an Oscar for this one. And I'm gonna buy the extended edition ASAP
Oh yeah? I raise you with this -
Watching this movie was the first time i find out WHO plays Elton John. from the minute i saw sone dude in the flamboyant devil costume & heart shaped glasses, looking so much like Elton they seemed like they had the same flipping chin, i went "blimey, is That EGGSY?!?!"
@@OfirBeck Wow, I really have been one-upped! Bravo! *tips top hat*
@@whish67 I'm gonna buy the extended edition wether or not there's a director's commentary with Taron Egerton and richard Madden (and Elton John of course)
I can't imagine playing Elton John in a biopic, and singing his songs, while the man himself is still alive and actually working with the filmmakers. Talk about pressure. But he pulled it off and did so spectacularly. The actor that played the young Elton did an incredible job, as well.
He does the gorillas voice on SING and also does an elton john song... he's is awesome
Played a gorilla singing Elton John,Actually saved Elton John and played Elton John..............ok yeah we get it he’s a good Elton
how did he save Elton?
Pavel Medbery the actor who played Elton in rocket man ( Taron Egerton) played in a film called Kingsman and in that film he actually saved Elton John
Can I do this for the Weeknd and play him in his BioPic?
@@TheFatScot you are so right
He is elton john
Can we just appreciate that 1:06 - 4:00 is a superb long take with all the choreography they had to get right for it?
There are probably some cuts here and there, like for example on 2:28 after the camera panned across the back of those women, on 3:07 after the punch, and on 3:24 after the 2nd hole on the wall. These are the obvious ones, probably more though
I believe it’s called one take not long take. Sorry to be that guy 0-0
The kids in this movie that sang were incredible performers.
This entire film is a masterpiece. I enjoyed Bohemian Rhapsody but Rocketman had me hooked for the entirety of the film.
I love that Taron Egerton evokes Elton’s singing without being an exact copy. I like that they didn’t make Elton out to be a complete angel and they did explore his drug use and anger problems. Elton shedding his costume bit by it during therapy was such a good visual metaphor as well.
A true masterpiece I know I will revisit for years to come. This movie is as timeless as the great man himself.
The moment Taron Egerton's Elton turns up, the movie finds another gear.
And mark my words, we'll see some iteration of Rocketman on Broadway before you know it.
Oh yes, for sure. I wonder when that will begin.
That's what we said when we first watched it. I think it will become a very successful show.
and mark my words I'll watch it!
From the first number, it watched like a musical - a very different beast to Bohemian Rhapsody.
I would pay 10 bucks to see Rocketman on Broadway. As long as Elton John shows up
That movie is incredible I love Rocketman it is so epic and legendary Elton John is the man and the best of the best
This scene alone is 100000% better than the entire movie of "Bohemian Rhapsody." Brilliant film and disgustingly underrated.
ChaseShakes I agree that it was underrated horribly, but Bohemian Rhapsody is a completely different kind of movie, and it was telling a different story. You don’t have to patronize another movie to make this one seem great.
I actually was gonna say that
good job amigo
@@essamlk amigo xd
@@kaiulanisnyderisbored3988 what people like about Bohemian Rhapsody is the *idea*
It cleans up the Queen story, reduces Freddie to "sassy, gay, and sad," makes him look like the only wild one, muddies up the timeline for no story reason, focuses too much in Freddie for supposedly being a QUEEN movie, has boring as hell editing, and is a complete rushed mess. The actors are the only good part honestly. Everything else from just a film writer, director, producer, AND editor's point of view is just highly disappointing. We shouldn't have to accept what we got because it could have been far better than it was, and a majority of it is because of Brian and Roger's poorer decisions
@@kaiulanisnyderisbored3988 Just because it's a completely different movie doesn't make it better. Rocketman was exactly what Bohemian Rhapsody should be, if they don't wanna make it like a musical fantasy that's fine but they did a massive mistake sanitising the actual story that was told in the movie. It played it way too safe, whereas Rocketman was brutally honest and that's what I wanted since Elton and Freddie had a extremely dark life off stage that's not too different
I want to hear kit sing this nowadays he would kill it joes singing is amazing and so is kits

This scene was phenomenal! What made this scene stand out is that it highlighted the notable countercultures that were popular in London back in the day. From the Rockers, Teddy Boys and Teddy Girls, to the rude-boys and rude-girls, this scene shined the light on all of them. They even included the British Indians who mesmerized the audience with their dance. This scene was incredible!

It was criminal that Taron didn't receive at least an Oscar nomination as Elton John. Especially when you consider that he received nominations from BAFTA and SAG and won a Golden Globe, as well as a Satellite. He nails Elton's phrasing on the songs, sings them beautifully and perfectly, and also Elton's performance facial expressions, his walk and his run, and all along he's convincingly dramatic and authentically comedic
