    Ran this in 48inch 120 hz for a year as a great monitor.... Run it in my room 65inches for tv.
    Ran the 48inch oled approx 5-6hours a day on a mostly stationary screen... never had any burn in issue, every few months id do the pixel cleaning
    also hacked the tv with the special remote to unlock its full brightness and disable its dimming completely.
    Switched to 57" Odyssey Neo G9 Dual 4K UHD because I much prefer to look left and right with my eyes and keep my neck stable (eye strain looking up and down and neck strain is quiet a bit different). Plus standup desk and I use a desk mount for the monitor.
    Once nvda releases new gpus with the updated direct port, then ill be able to run its max resolution at 240hz. currently have to run it at 120hz, unless you have a top of the line AMD gpu.
    im not a huge fan of curved screens, but this makes it far easier for my work flow.
    Specific use is for everything except gaming, I game on a Alienware 27 360Hz QD-OLED Gaming Monitor - AW2725DF

    Thanks for this video. I want a dedicated gaming tv and I’m looking at the 48 inch version. This video helped with some concerns as I do not expect a ton of multitasking so the abl and dimming shouldn’t affect me much. Video was well done and succinct, thanks again!

    Why do you need elevation on your desk (like that mini desk) to place this monitor on I don't understand? If it's not just for extra room on your desk / or just for cool looking then what's that for?
    A good ergonomic sitting position (position that good for your eyes and body) is when your eyes level is at 1/3 top of monitor, so I don't think placing this huge monitor up that high would be necessary or even good for most people.

      Thanks! And just because of the whole burn in discussion around OLED.
      It used to really freak me out so I just got in the habit of turning off the screen when not using it but tbh I think that’s a little overkill those extra 2 minutes of static screen really don’t matter in the grand scheme of things

    Hi! Would you say that using this tv for reading all day is a bad idea? I mean, does it really hurt your eyes or produce headaches or something? Thank you in advance!

    • @chettystudios
      @chettystudios  10 днів тому +1

      @@George.Gadgets yes if mainly reading and all day long, it’s not the clearest and I could see it causing some eye pain (for me at least)

    • @George.Gadgets

      Your comment really helper thanks. Although, you use it for productivity, and I guess that productivity supposes apps, text on apps (menus, options, labels, tags), maybe you don't read pdfs all the time but definitely I'm sure that you have to do that too from time to time. So, as of today, do you continue using this TV for this stuff? I don't know what kind of productivity you do, I do programming and also I like to read news, articles and so on, so... I really don't know what to do. One important thing is the glossy reflection thing. It's really important because reflections cause eyes restrain, since your brain and eye must differentiate between two different images, the one in the TV and the one in the reflection. That one is a huge thing for me. Even in your room which so so dark, there are a lot of reflections, it's scary!

    • @chettystudios
      @chettystudios  10 днів тому

      @ I do video editing and photography so I’m really not reading much text. Looking at emails and reading stuff doesn’t bother me at all I just think if I was staring at black text on a white background for the majority of the day it would eventually bother me. As for the reflections, they can get bothersome at certain times but I just get around that by turning the brightness up and turning off any lights that would be reflecting too harsh. If you have a bright room, it could definitely be an issue, and I would look into maybe a monitor with a more matte finish

  • @kampfas

    does ABL still go off when brightness is set to low like 25-30% ?

    • @chettystudios
      @chettystudios  3 місяці тому

      I'm not 100% certain the threshold, but I would assume at a low enough brightness it would not. I will say it hasn't really been a problem (or at least I've gotten used to it) and I typically am at around 60-80% brightness.

    People over-think fancy zones. If you break your screen into a grid and use the shift + ctrl to combine tiles, it's way faster than resizing or planning for the perfect, static layout.

      I like the review- I have a 7 month old 82 inch C3 after 15 yrs with Samsung and defiantly stunning!! Samsung is now overpriced branded and for my new display to edit videos, compose music and computer play- go to the 42 B4 ( 2024 version) 42 which has the same chipset as the C4. Love the LG’s OLED. Stunning images!

    Hey man, don't know if you read comments on older videos but your reviews have been really helpful. I wanted to ask if you could please make a video that compares the image quality of both the Samsung Odyssey G9 OLED 49" (around 100ppi) and the top-end Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 (G95C) 57" mini-LED (around 130ppi) monitors at their actual viewing angles? Maybe even compare both to this LG C3 OLED in 3440x1440 or 3440x1600 ultra-wide mode. I'm asking because despite going around and researching the Neo G9 57" vs G9 OLED, I can't seem to find comparison reviews that actually feature the what the best viewing experience of the mini-LED monitor would look like.
    It always seems like the mini-LED one is shown in angles that make it way more bloomy and faded with little to no configuration which would be a natural thing given it's and LED display not viewed on its optimal viewing angle. In contrast, I've seen OLEDs vs mini-LED flat display comparisons that show how very close mini-LED is able to reach OLED's visual fidelity with deep blacks and great contrast. It would be really nice to actually have a proper comparison review seeing as right now, the 57" is the only one of its kind in the ultra-wide world of monitors.

      100%.
      I don’t see myself ever going smaller than 42” again for a work monitor, and every time I see a non-OLED monitor at a friends house or somewhere I’m reminded how spoiled I am to have the OLED.
