I've had crap luck with rolls but still just love the gun a lot. Went Flawless with a perp motion / snapshot roll on Midtown. Sights are just so clean, it feels great.

Randy's is one of those weapons that you just save every roll for because there's so many good ones dropping. Some of the most fun I've had in the crucible, EVER, is with the Cascade Point roll, trying to get it and then use it. Just so happens that my Zen+Box roll also has Under-Over as a secondary perk, so I guess I'm gonna dig that out and give it a spin.
One thing I never see talked about in PvE with this weapon frame is Alloy Mag - reload scalar when the magazine is empty. The Rapid Fire Frame has a reload scalar built in as well, so when you fully empty the mag, the reload speed bonus is very high, comparable to Rapid Hit x4 reload speed bonus on this weapon specifically.
I am actually surprised that Discord & Harmony was not discussed, it's such a nice combo after getting a kill with another weapon giving so many bonuses: More Damage, Handling, ADS multiplier, Accuracy, and AE.
I have this on the Glissando, and somewhere north of 80 crucible kills. Paired with harmony out of bounds. I would for sure recommend, but I have not gotten the roll on Randys yet. Probably same pairing too. Harmony and discord easily A tier perks in all PvP modes.
Discord and cascade is a great combo, and also kinetic tremors works in pvp usually after a kill, it’s helped me get a double kill multiple time. Hard to go wrong with Randy
I got one to roll with Arrowhead Brake, Appended Mag, (Zen Moment / Gutshot Straight / Discord), (Kill Clip, Focused Fury, Cascade Point), Stability Masterwork. I haven't used it yet because the scope is a bit jarring for me, but I suppose I ought to try it out now. Great vid!
I'm coming around to preferring Box Breathing Randy's over Hung Jury because Randy's doesn't feel so terrible outside of Box Breathing engagements, and is very nearly as good when it's up. 👍
When I first saw the Randy's Throwing Knife perk pool I immediately asked my clan if kinetic tremors damage counted as body, and when they said probably I aimed for the gutshot kinetic tremors for pve. Got one half way into the season and a better roll a couple weeks later that also has rapid hit. So I also have the option of rapid hit kinetic tremors. Haven't regretted getting it though. When the nightfall for the osprey came it did work, and seeing the tremors coming from the ogres damaging and killing the stuff passing them made me smile.
Been waiting for this type of review. Under-Over is soooo underrated. I love my armor-piercing rounds/Under-Over/Kill-Clip roll. Under-Over/Adaptive could be good for shields in both PVE and PVP. Adaptive works in PVP, right? Discord/Cascade Point seem to have some synergy which might be worth looking at as well. So many choices... Love scouts, love this weapon❣
I just found a roll with armor piercing rounds (more effectiv vs shields), under-over (more effectiv vs shields) and adaptive munitions (more effectiv vs shields). i am interessted to see, how this performs in PvE.
I have many of those combos. One of my new favorites is Kinetic Tremors, Perpetual Motion, RR, AB, RMW... in PVP. I aim for body shots, the chaos is pretty fun. Most of my PVP Randy elims are on Rampage, RH, High cals, AB, RMW... It's a blast.
I have almost 800 kills with my zen/box roll I also think gutshot/box is pretty nice combo which also will be better after gutshot gets buffed or gutshot/cascade gutshot adds a bit more forgiveness if you miss a crit.
Randy's is one of my favourite weapons simply due to its beautiful red dot sight. Too many weapons in Destiny have convoluted scopes or apertures, Randy's is clean and simple. I just wish it was easier to get playlist weapons in the season that they debut
I have 12 masterworked taraxippos. Each has recombinant 4 perks and every time I try and delete any of them I just think how much I love good scouts and how cool strand looks and feels on the weps and curse Bungie for not giving us unlimited vault space. Randy’s is less novel so I only have 6 but after this vid I think I can get it down to 3-4

I got a really juiced pvp roll a few weeks ago and I love it. Full bore, ricochet, Perpetual + kill clip with a 2nd 4th column perk of box breathing. I don't even have to switch guns
“It will experience damage fall off because of the base 23 range” Fall off starts at 66.87m, so I mean, yeah, if you’re trying to shoot from one side of Eternity to the other.
I know people always want damage perks but I've always looked for perks that just made a gun feel good to shoot. So Rapid Hit/Snap Shot is my go to for this gun. Only combo that makes it feel more like the old Randy's. Its a so snappy and it's a laser beam when dualling.
I'm saving my Under-Over/Box Breathing roll for the aforementioned buff. I'm ready to terrorize a Crucible lobby with this thing. For now, a Perpetual Motion/Box Breathing roll gets me the satisfaction. Waiting for a decent PvE version to drop, though at least I do have one with Perpetual/Tremors so that's nice.
I must be lucky - I haven't reset my crucible rank enough this season to get multiple perks but I have a: Arrowhead/HC/Zen/Kill clip Corkscrew, HC or Ricochet, rapid hit/ Cascade Ricochet/Under over/ kinetic tremors that I've saved in the vault - I think all will get a run now - Thanks CoolGuy.
I have a Kill clip or Box + Zen or Under w/ hiCal & Arrowhead. I am contemplating a cascade + a harmony sidearm combo. I think Frostbolt was using that. I think in general a kill clip roll for PvP and the gutshot+tremors roll for PvE are going to be the staples. I feel like the box breathing option will be heavily overshadowed by the stat monster an adept hung jury... Although the box randy MIGHT be more lethal than the jury when you miss the box shot OR on the second player after the first kill. The rapid fire frame may bully harder or allow you to recover from a miss more easily allowing for quick doubles.
I am on the hunt for a perpetual motion cascade point. I had a rapid hit cascade and it it wasn't for the abysmal handling it would have been perfect. The pm box breathing I have right now feels great but I was the pm cp combo for the smooth feeling of one and the rapid fire of the other
I got a Rapid Hit + Encore and i got to say, i got some good results with it as well. really sticky and with the extra range it helps Randys being a Rapit fire frame. maybe not as powerfull as with Kill Clip but i got fun with it
So many perk combos, so many choices. I tried a void build with Le Monarch and a Randy’s with cascade point. Very fun. I’m stacking them in my vault waiting for a good CoolGuy video. Thank you

I have a bunch of Randy's with arrowhead break leaving me at 100 recoil and mine are still jumpy. How are your shots without that barrel so tight and with little to no recoil vertical jump?
I have a rapid hit cascade point and ive been loving it all season. Cascade point is just such a fun perk to have and definitely recommend people to snag that.
I’ve probably deleted all of the rolls discussed in this vid at one time or another because I get so many to drop in the Crucible. As a PS5 player, Randy’s is way too bouncy to use. I can’t find one that doesn’t bounce like a trampoline when I pull the trigger. I recently got a Rampage drop, which I think will be my go to Randy’s in the future.
Can confirm gutshot buffs your tremor damage. It’s my new go to purple primary. It might not be the very best, but it is very easy and brainless. Just point and shoot, don’t worry about headshots or shields. Just land consecutive shots to proc tremors as much as you can. Really nice weapon.
cool guy I don’t know if you have but I would love a review on the positive outlook auto, drops from nightfalls. Reticle is clean IMO and it can get dynamic sway+eye of the storm, makes it crazy smooth.
I started using Randy cause I was getting pummeled with while using Mida Multi Tool. I'm older so I tend toward perks that get me that first kill. Mostly though I can make any combo work that has enough recoil control and stability.
I feel in love with Zen/Kill Clip while playing IB on my wifes character, for me im trying to get a better harmony roll on a Forgiveness for a Cascade point Randys for the kill chain potential

I honestly don’t understand why but I love Randy, it’s one of my favourite weapons in the game and I was elated when they announced it was coming back this season with random rolls. I got a Zen Moment / Box Breathing roll very early this season which has been putting in serious work in PvP.
The current Vanguard weapon can drop with Cascades. I've got a dynamic sway/Cascade and it's phenomenal to pair with a Cascade tarax. Hoping to be able to get a zen/Cascade positive outlook before it can be focused and abused!

i tried gutshot/cascade point in pvp and i've never played with a weapon that unruly in my life. wicked fun but also basically impossible to use. try it out if you're feeling silly, but probably don't keep one
I hope I will find an answer here. Why should I ever get more range stat on a scout when they dmg dropoff is beyond 60m? Wouldn't it be more logical to get more handling or stability and even lower the range with steady rounds to make the aim assist cone wider on closer ranges?
This one does exp dropoff on the big maps. Loses accuracy as well and on those maps I can feel it missing. Up to you. Raneh shakeup in S22 and who knows what will happen to scouts

Way back when Rapid Hit first appeared, all the best crucible scientists like you and Drewsky taught us that it was literally Outlaw and Zen Moment combined. If so did it get the Zen Moment buff? And is the Zen Moment portion modified to only work on crits or is that just the Outlaw portion? Because I remember the word around UA-cam was “Zen Moment is now objectively inferior to Rapid Hit” Then the months turn in to years and it’s one of those things that freaks like me remember but everyone else thinks I’m insane or I’m making it up.

a great pairing with a cascade point randy is trinity ghoul since it counts as three critical hits there for activating cascade without a kill

For fun in pve, Randy can get gut shot/kinetic tremors with GS buffing KT. Similar to how GS is buffed by explosive payload

Really timely video. I think I've deleted over 100 of them already. Maybe do a "look out for these rolls" video at the START of when the weapon is introduced. I left after the commercial because I just don't want to know.
zen + KC + Ophidians is my jam. Range MW, high caliber. It’s a dream.
i tried gutshot/cascade point in pvp and i've never played with a weapon that unruly in my life. wicked fun but also basically impossible to use. try it out if you're feeling silly, but probably don't keep one

I hope I will find an answer here. Why should I ever get more range stat on a scout when they dmg dropoff is beyond 60m? Wouldn't it be more logical to get more handling or stability and even lower the range with steady rounds to make the aim assist cone wider on closer ranges?
This one does exp dropoff on the big maps. Loses accuracy as well and on those maps I can feel it missing. Up to you. Raneh shakeup in S22 and who knows what will happen to scouts
lol , i've many questions about the clips i see in the video , i'm not that knowledgeable about warlock maneuvers , so how in the world that warlock in the beginning dashed in the opposites direction like that ?!
plus , the characters are their heads bigger or what since when he was aiming for headshots the pinpoint of the scout rifle was above their heads by inch , i don't like pvp so sb pls enlighten me (: ?!

I got one with zen moment and swashbuckler, threw it on my Athrys’s Embrace build, and I haven’t looked back.
Way back when Rapid Hit first appeared, all the best crucible scientists like you and Drewsky taught us that it was literally Outlaw and Zen Moment combined. If so did it get the Zen Moment buff?
And is the Zen Moment portion modified to only work on crits or is that just the Outlaw portion?
Because I remember the word around UA-cam was “Zen Moment is now objectively inferior to Rapid Hit”
Then the months turn in to years and it’s one of those things that freaks like me remember but everyone else thinks I’m insane or I’m making it up.
The roll I got very early on and have stuck with is Zen Moment + Box Breathing. It's crazy strong.
Randy’s has always been, and (for me at least) will always be the goat of scout rifles.
Is Randy's really better then Servant Leader? SL has arguably better stats and now rolls field tested as an origin trait?
