    Amazing......................Thank you for reminding me why I subscribe to a diorama maker's channel.........while I have only a passing interest in dioramas themselves, I have a deep appreciation for creative and inspired artisans..................you obviously tick all the boxes and watching your dedication to the minutia along with your clear and entertaining voice over ratchet up the enjoyment factor...........Thank You!

    Kathy when you changed the rock surface to the angular flatter method it tied in with your polygon columns beautifully. What you did with the LEDs, wire, plastic strip, cotton wool and paint layers is astonishing. I could see you using this method to make lava flows etc from Mount Doom. Wonderful stuff KM, but yes in saying that cotton is highly flammable, and it only takes a spark or too to ignite it. Handy for camping to get a fire going to cook the beans for a Blazing Saddles moment, lol.

    Hi Kathy, another stunning diorama, particularly liked the mud splatters on the front of the warthog, never occurred to me that it could be done so simply, the explosion looks amazing , almost like you could burn yourself on it, looking forward to the water-splash diorama with the small buggy, got a headful of ideas, hopefully, I'll get round to doing something constructive before long, anyway, stay safe, all the best from Scotland, Stephen.

    Been waiting a while for this one after you mentioned it in the previous Halo diorama, definitely worth that wait. Took me straight back to the original Halo multiplayer and just driving Warthogs off every available cliff, jump, enemy skull. The explosion really makes it look complete and it was a really cool way of creating it!

    Looks great! I wouldn't worry too much about the white coming through - it can be a bit of a brighter explosion.
    I have a 1/72 pink "flying cloud" [from the "Monkey Magic" TV series] that uses an LED and cotton wool to get the glowing effect.
    Saw a diorama of a kamikaze attack that used similar techniques, and also used optic fibres to make sparks/burning debris within the cloud also.

    • @KathyMillatt
      @KathyMillatt  3 роки тому +1

      I tried the fibre optics but they weren’t bright enough compared to the rest of the explosion so I didn’t add them in the end.

Because you are *literally* the second person I've found that can claim their Art pieces as 'Realistic'. You and Luke Towan. All the others are not quite there yet. So it's annoying. ...oh, it's a car from a computer game, now I understand. I was all set to compare your exploding warthog to the field of exploding sheep my mate Mad Ian created whilst dynamiting tree stumps in Straya.
    That ended up a weird kind of christmas vibe, lots of red, green and white everywhere and a powerful aroma of roasted lamb. I wasn't there, but he did show me his video of what happens when you set off a hundred twenty tree stumps at once instead of one after the other.
    Found myself thinking 'that's a bit grim for a Kathy Millatt! Then I thought, or is it only, as far as we know?! Perhaps all these dioramas have seceret aspects full of astonishing gore and mutilation, hidden away from our eyes...
    Probably not. Although now I wonder about doing a scene from The Blob - be an interesting problem to solve.
    Anyhoo....
    I am not certain, but I am neatly certain, 90% certain that I'm 95% certain that the trick with melting hot metal into 3D printing is a filiament print thing only. Fairly sure the resin prints are not thermoset plastics, and I dunno exactly what would happen if you poked a hot screw into that stuff, but almost everything you do do to it ends up exceedingly bad for ya, so, probably best not to. Err on the side of caution or the Galactic Empire if available. Probably.
    Nice one, though, as always. :-)

    • @KathyMillatt
      @KathyMillatt  3 роки тому
