They talk about their upcoming European tour, with clips from their new album Eclipse and live performances singing Don't Stop Believing
I was in the Philippines, while in the navy, and there were a lot of great cover bands in town, not surprised by this.
I grew up listening to Journey since I was about 9 or 10. Was upset when Steve "CHOSE" to leave the band. Heard about this Arnel guy, watched a bunch of videos with him, read up on him and his story and he is amazing!!!!! Much more talented overall that Steve Perry. Has an amazing stage presence and performance which Steve lacked. Arnel gave Journey new life. I couldn't be happier for them!! Can't wait to see Arnel and Journey in Illinois this summer!!
Thanks for speaking the truth...Steve Perry was an amazing singer in his prime but this is NOW and we would like to continue listening to new Journey songs..!

But this guy Arnel actually gave the group a chance to perform again, to let the younger fans enjoy the band and to some old fans that still like to listen to them live...

Steve Perry can never match Arnel Pineda's powerful Voice. Arnel Pineda is the best, that's why AP Journey's vocalist for 15 years because he's better vocalist than SP.
Arnel will never "be going" to be Steve, right because Arnel is Arnel Pineda who held and continue to hold together the group of the "big boys" that was starting to disintegrate. And thanks to him, they are still there rocking and rolling at the top!!

People also need to realize, if Steve Perry came back now, his voice has changed (natrually, it has been 30 years). You STILL wouldn't really get the Journey from the 80s. All good things must end.

Glen DiRienzo No, it's not. Have you heard his voice recently? He can't hit the same high register anymore. They would have to play everything in a lower key for him now and everyone would be complaining that the songs don't sound the same. Best to remember Journey at their peak.
Im fully aware of it. People would have to understand that he can't sing like he used to 30 years ago. I've been watching Steve's performance with the Eels in LA. Might not have his upper register notes but, has everything else. Like i said before, if he ever got back with Journey. Box office records will be broken. I put big money on it.

The only talent this Lil 5 ft. man (Arnel) has is impersonating, imitating and singing all STEVE PERRY old hits songs. 🤣😆🤣🤣This little man will NEVER be a TRUE multi-talented (The voice/Hits songs writer) as Steve Perry or Mariah Carey in his lifetime. I'm just going to keep it real. This is why we NEVER heard Arenl's original hits song playing on the radio or any new material on UA-cam.

Arnel is phenomenal, But remember his job is to mimic an original.Do you think for one second, he wasn't hired cause he sounded just like Steve Perry?

Schon was first drawn to Arnel singing a Survivor song. Then searched more and saw him singing songs of Steve Tyler, Freddie Mercury, Chicago, Air supply, Guns and Roses, not just Journey song. His voice had a distinct quality that never changed in all these songs. He's just naturally gifted and destined to make it big.
If you listen to the voice of steve, he is not the same
Obviously not the same. But the tenor of his voice reminds people of when they loved those songs. That in itself is what fans yearned for in previous singer replacements.
Neil doesn't look like himself anymore. Why tamper with what wasn't bad in the first place? Still love his hair, though.
I know all these comments are grown ups but I’m not. I am an 11 year old who is obsessed with journey and I love watching their old videos but my favorite is Neal Schon. And it truly stabs my heart that he got plastic surgery I really liked his old smile and it will never be the same. It’s just sad

I think Steve Perrys great. But Im glad Journey didnt stop the dream for the fans that love the music. On the side I hope Steve Perry finds peace with his future in whatever it is. For Lou Gramm of Foreigner, he continued singing. Maybe Steves still sick of the music business, depressed or just has other interests nowadays.?

I'm thinking if Steve could still sing, he would be. Even if it was only to release music, & not tour! I truly wish he would release something, what an amazing voice to just stop! Well, sounds like another subtle jibe at Perry. 'some members in the 1980's didn't want to come'. In the Swedish interview awhile back they specifically said Perry. Valory doesn't have kids, so unless it was Steve Smith who didn't want to come, it is back to digs at SP. Can't they let this crap go? Perry consistently is classy in public interviews about them. Either says nothing, or wishes them well. Wish they would do the same.

@1984jee Arnel is a very handsome man. Nothing wrong with his haircut. Schon does look like he botoxed himself a bit too much or something, and I think Cain would have been better off not dying his eyebrows so dark. But, even though I have zero desire to ever see them without Perry, I have to respect their desire to still make music, even though the new music that isn't selling per Billboard. And Arnel could be a tremendous success without them. Just hope they don't tour his voice to death.

Steve Perry is the ex-voice because he chose" to leave the band and Arnel is the present voice that saved Journey, that's the fact.
Arnel Pineda is the best . Steve Perry can't reach VERY high notes like Arnel.

What gets me is all these Perry fans who are still hanging on to him. He simply cannot sing the material anymore. I take care of an elderly lady his age and she wears diapers and uses a Cane for god sakes. Steve Augeri or however you say his name was there for years after Perry left and he is on a video where he came to meet Arnel in his dressing room. He was so nice to Arnel.mPerry left his fans high and dry. Journey didn't do anything to keep him from playing yet you blame them? I have a brand new appreciation for Jon and Neal because they still play even though all you haters spend time watching their interviews bashing and hating. Try love. I guess the new Journey fans can't understand why the old fans get upset to what the band did to Steve. I was around when they were still huge and if you did not get to experience it, then I can understand. But if you knew the whole story you would know that Journey was going NOWHERE until they got Steve. HE made the group. WITHOUT Steve they would still be nothing. Do better research..so much out there. you can tell by interviews that they back stabbed Steve. so sad. no one can replace him. you can't replace a legend.

Anyhow I'm not going to spend time searching on this topic so why don't you offer one good example of how they screwed Steve. Also, I do agree, Steve was irreplaceable, and I do enjoy this new lad. And, oh yeah, I do remember the media putting out a rumor of Steve having AIDS back in the day but to think these guys would've intentionally done that... no way.
ok.. one example is Steve had to have hip surgery and he did not want to rush it and they told him either get the hip surgery or we go on without you.. they could not even wait for their LEADING band member to get better.. it all comes down to the money. its all good though. i am sure they all did some bad things to each other.. time to move on :) i just like Steve better is all..

Try to make a sample of Survivor music of each and you will find the difference...Another mist is try to outsmart them both in dry mode type of sound...Compare them ...Who is within.

Yeah man, you can't compare Perry's voice to Arnel's. Arnel's voice is one of a kind, he can sing almost every song, well I'm not saying that Steve is not good, Steve is still good as he is, but man Arnel's voice is versatile.
