    Did anyone really expect him to pick anything other than Disney?

    Perfect Day at CoCoKay by leaps and bounds. Lots of beach front locations, chairs, great food and even water parks and a giant pool.

    Even prior to Coco Kay I’ve always felt that Disney could have gone a lot further with Castaway Cay by having a complete waterpark. Something themed and truly “Disney” as a nod to their theme park heritage. However it was Coco Kay that delivered on my wishes. It’s pretty much exactly what I always wanted in a private island.

    Coco Cay all day! No private island compares. After experiencing Disney it was a one time deal. Like Nike, you pay for the name. Not worth it. $3000 for a 7 day on RCL for 4 or $7000. I think not. We all knew what he was going to choose.

    Labadee is my choice! Ziplines and mountain coaster! More tropical, natural feeling. A lot more shade and private. Different vibe between them. More my style.

    I've never been to Coco Cay, but I was a little underwhelmed with Castaway Cay. I felt like, as a couple with no kids, there was nothing for us to do. There was plenty for us to do on the ship, but the island was a little lame. Coco Cay looks like lots of fun.

      As it should be. It’s weird to go on a romantic disney vacation knowing it’s for kids.

    You forgot to mention, RC ships will not have problems docking at CocoCay. We all know that's not the case on Disney ships. We would love for you to do a comparison on Labadee vs. CocoCay: Royal Caribbean's Private Islands.

    If you are picking Castaway Cay it is only because you are a Disney person. The food on Coco Cay blows it out of the water. The water park is an extra expense but you can afford it because Royal is so much cheaper. The pool on Coco Cay is magnificent. I have experienced problems with jelly fish larvae on Castaway with kids but on Coco Cay you have other options. My next cruise is on Odyssey of the seas for 6 nights and I got that with a verandah for $1,200 solo, good luck finding that deal on Disney. If you want to compare the ship experience with young children I will go with Disney all day because of the clubs but Coco Cay really is perfect. I haven't heard about ships not getting in to Coco Cay but on every Disney cruise I was on it was a challenge getting into Castaway.

      Do you know the root cause of the docking issues on Castaway Cay? None of my DCL sailings had issues, but we sailed October, late November and December. The only issue we had was during hurricane season. We got on the island for several hours, then the rain came and forced us back to the ship.

    Both! Options are good and Disney hasn’t been very economically friendly lately (hasn’t been in a long while) so having an option to have “some magical experience” at a reasonable price has its advantages. That being said, Disney will always be the “Magical” leader but we can’t always splurge that kind of vacation budget every time for our family getaways. Great review Michael!🤙

      The same goes for us. I want to experience Disney and I am an expert travel agent. But I have not been able because the price is so high and we can only travel on the high season with our son. They do not offer any discounts for travel agents either, but RCCL does offer me some discount because I have also cruised with them several times.

    honestly disney is just leaning on his brand and their characters standing around the island sometimes, but other than that its a fairly standard fair all around on there. can do as much on any non disney location over there in terms of rides and attractions. coco cay however was intentionally build to offer something unique, like the huge slide in the middle of the island and generally many more attractions on tehre compared to disney

      Have you ever seen Disney's Hilton Head resort or Aulani? It's very non Disney with very few things that remind you. They're treated more as specialty all inclusive places without notable theming. I suspect Lighthouse Point (DCL second private island) will be along those lines..

      It is a lot like there Star Wars hotel, throw in some branding and charge a fortune. I loved the Disney experience when I traveled with a young child but I no longer want to spend an extra thousand dollars to see someone dressed as Mickey Mouse.

    Personally, Castaway Cay just looks more relaxing to me. We had a great time there with a large chunk of time being in the relatively quiet adult section. The other island feels more like a traditional water park which may be nice for some, but we’ve got those around here. Looking for something different on a tropical vacation

    Our family has really enjoyed your cruise line vs. series! We lean toward Disney as a family, due to a feeling, I like to refer to as “Luxurious Intimacy”, which you can only find on Disney Cruise Lines!

    Castway Cay wins hands down. Coco Cay seems like a water park on an island which im sure people love, but when im on an island I want to enjoy what the island offers. Disney has done an amazing job to work with the land then bulldoze it down to add a waterpark that we can do at home. Its calm and relaxing..Disney Cruise is always going to be the winner :)

      Have you been? Most of it isn’t a water park. They have massive beaches, big pools etc.

  • @nickmoney

    If I'm going to a private island, I would rather want seclusion and not worry about nickel and diming. I could go to a water park anywhere and it is way cheaper than 80 dollars, zip lining could be interesting but other cruise ports offer that over more scenic areas and no to hot air balloons. Considering that Castaway Cay was the very first cruise ship private island, follows different rules and what they could do then with Disney being crucified if they expanded it for "destroying the environment" but DCL has a second private island opening soon that could be much better comparison.

    Coco Cay has more thrills for kids with all the water slides. Plus they have fresh water pools which Disney does not have. This is a benefit for some families with young kids that don't want them going to the ocean.

    If it's a full family trip; Aunts, Uncles, G-Parents, it's gotta be Coco Cay. But if it's just for me, the wife, and our single child, Castaway is where it's at. That way no one HAS to pay upfront for things they may not want. But as for me and mine, we want to go and not think about money at all, so the added luxury of it is important.

    Thanks for the video, We only cruise Disney, but if I were a child and my parents asked me if I wanted to go to Coco Cay or Castaway Cay there would be not question Coco Cay would win they just have a much more fun water park, with the zip line, and when you compare price I would pay the extra for the water park. We paid $160.00 per person in 2011 to go to Atlantis in Bahama's when we were on Disney Cruise so that the kids could go to the water park, ( they have an amazing water park, with slides and rapid river. ) so for a more fun for kids Coco Cay wins,

    Excellent comparison 👌🏻
    We couldn’t have explained it better 👍🏻
    We do like riding bikes at Castaway Cay which is an extra cost and there are no bikes at Coco Cay. 🚲🌴🌊
    Hoping you get on board the Wonder of the Seas and or the Odyssey of the Seas 🛳☀️🌊

    I’ve never done Royal, only Disney, and the extra expenses for the private island are kind of a bummer. How do you tell your kids that they can’t go in there because the family can’t afford it? Include it in the cruise price and then everyone can enjoy it. The fact that two ships can dock at the same time is also a no for me. Imagine two of the largest cruise ships in the world there at the same time. Crowd overload for sure. Castaway is the only port that I get off the ship. I like the ship you were on and look forward to one day in the future experiencing Royal for myself.

    • @rchiariello
      @rchiariello 2 роки тому +1

      I think it makes sense that the water park isn't included in the price. Not everyone wants to pay for something they won't use. The cost of a Disney cruise is still at least twice as expensive even when you add on the water park. If you can afford a Disney cruise, you can afford to add on the water park with Royal.

    • @philbaxter1165
      @philbaxter1165 2 роки тому

      @@rchiariello Some people choose Royal for the Perfect Day at Coco Cay experience. Why have a private island that you have to charge guests to enjoy? Just include it in the cruise price. You pay for a lot that you probably don’t use on the ship. The gym, the kids clubs, flow rider or the rock wall.

      I ask the same question why you charge $6000 for a family of 4 for 7 day on in inside room for Disney 🤷🏻‍♂️ That is 2 cruises with a balcony on RCL. Everyone has their preference. Disney is not mine.
