Coco Cay is my most favorite place in the world! It really has everything there. Though in our 40's, my husband and I love the waterpark. The food is so yummy, the beaches are beautiful, and there's a nice path for getting a walk in.
Hey Matt, great list of things to do. I've been to Coco Cay 4 times and still learned a lot from this video. Thanks for sharing and keep up the good work.
I was at Coco Cay this past summer and really appreciated the wide variety of spaces and activities. I disembarked in the afternoon and did not find any issues with finding loungers around the fresh water pool or South Beach areas. And this was a 2 ship day (a Celebrity ship was also there).
I didn't know there was no ticket for Coco Beach Club. I will be going there on the 12/8 Oddysey sailing. This is very helpful. The first time I was there (a few years ago), a ticket was required for entry. I appreciate the information. This video is really helpful.
I really appreciate your videos Matt. I’m going on my first RC cruise next year in June and I am so happy that I found your channel. Keep up the great work.
Can I bring breakfast food from the ship onto cococay? Like I’d like to stop by the buffet and pick up some fruit, dry cereal, pastries/muffins etc. and have a picnic breakfast on the island.
I agree you pronounce it properly. But that's not how Royal Caribbean pronounces it. For sure it was originally a marketing thing to rhyme CAY with DAY.
Cay or Key, I think both are technically correct, however, I do appreciate your pronunciation of "key" as that is how I always learned it, being half-Bahamian. That's how my Bahamian family always said it. But I will say it almost sounds like you are saying Bohemian, which I have heard many UA-camrs do that, so you are not alone. Bohemians are from an area in the Czech Republic. Bahamians are people from the Bahamas. Regardless, love the channel and love RC. Can't wait for my next one.
Yes. The small little bar shacks even have self serve dispensers for various fruit flavored drinks. Melon, Mango etc. The buffet itself has a similar setup to what you'd see at the windjammer.
It does not. However it's really only the chicken wings that he mentioned. The other nicer dining option is exclusive to those that have purchased a pass to the CoCo Beach Club which is about $250 a person and includes it's own restaurant.
When I walked off the ship and down the dock there was a band singing "Its a Perfect Day at Coco-KAY" clearly with that pronunciation. So it looks like RCL wants us to think that's how it is pronounced?
We were at Coco Cay yesterday and took the tram to South Beach. I wasn’t expecting to see a big sting ray by the sandbar. When I let the lifeguard know he just shrugged his shoulders like it was the norm. We got back on the Icon early to enjoy zero lines at all the waterslides and flowrider. The first time we came to the island we got lucky because our ship was the only one there.
They have a station as you exit the ship to get towels, if you want to go straight to an area and claim your chairs. If they get wet you can exchange them at a towel station on the island. Also you can get towels on the island with your sea pass card. If you've opted for one of the premium sections like CoCo Beach Club or Cabanas they provide towels as part of the elevated service.
Hey Matt! Great video again! I'm going back to Coco Cay on my birthday next month. Just showed my husband the 'secret sandwich' to ask for when we're there. Thanks for all the great tips!! And, yes, you pronounce it correctly.
If you book the balloon ahead of time, and that day the weather keeps the balloon grounded and you are unable too ride it, will your money be refunded?
Coco Cay is my favorite stop on Carribean cruises. I’ve already been three times this year😆. A stop at Coco Cay is a requirement for my Carribean cruise itinerary. Hideaway Bay and Coco Beach Club are well worth a try. I personally love both, but only choose one per visit. Not enough time to enjoy both places in one day. We didn’t get our money’s worth when we did the water park. We spent all our time in very, very long lines. The teens with us were only able to get on three slides the entire day because of the long wait times. Thanks for your videos Matt!
We loved everything about Coco Cay, we missed a lot of parts of the island due to the lack of tram running that day and my elderly father can’t walk that much 😢 but I hope to visit the island again someday to be able to check the whole island out.
Matt, I think it's funny that you're insisting on saying CoCo Key instead of Coco Cay; but you keep saying Bohemian instead of Bahamian. You need to look these up! These two words represent completely different parts of the world and mean totally different things. 😀
If you ask a local, he/she will tell you how to pronounce it. My 13-yrs old daughter was curious and asked when we were there in July. In Bahamian English, they will say “key”, while American English is “kay.”

Will be on Allure of the Seas in 6 days!! So excited!!!
are you scheduled for 10/11
On my last cruise the weather prevented us from visiting Coco Cay. This is on my favorite list for my next cruise. Thanks Matt for ALL you do for us.

I have always appreciated that you pronounce Cay correctly!
91 days until CocoCay on Oddysey. I can't wait!
Thanks 😊 so much for sharing
I certainly agree with your pronunciation!
Can I bring breakfast food from the ship onto cococay? Like I’d like to stop by the buffet and pick up some fruit, dry cereal, pastries/muffins etc. and have a picnic breakfast on the island.

Per RC, it is to rhyme perfect day at coco cay (not key).
Correct !!! Sorry Matt but these people are right .
Are cigars promitted to be enjoyed on the beach at chill beach or south beach?
I'll be there in about 2 weeks

Coco Key!
86 days and counting until Adventure of the Seas going to Coco Cay or (Key) Looking forward to Oasis lagoon
Jet Ski tour
Hideout Cabana
Drink Package
Truly a PERFECT DAY!!
Do you have to be 16+ to ride the jet skies? No kids can ride as passenger?
Are "water shoes" required for Jet Ski's or can I wear my Chaco's (hiking sandals w/heel straps)?
Inexpensive day at CoCo Cay
Are there free drinks and refreshments on CoCo cay like there are on the ship
Yes! Free buffets and food and basic drinks like water and juices are free. Alcoholic drinks would be free if you bought a drink package.
Yes. The small little bar shacks even have self serve dispensers for various fruit flavored drinks. Melon, Mango etc. The buffet itself has a similar setup to what you'd see at the windjammer.
One more question: Does the UDP work on Coco Cay for food you have to pay for?
It does not. However it's really only the chicken wings that he mentioned. The other nicer dining option is exclusive to those that have purchased a pass to the CoCo Beach Club which is about $250 a person and includes it's own restaurant.

My favorite thing to at perfect day is to stay on the ship and soak in the hot tubs without a crowd
Yeah, that would be good if the hot tubs were hot. They're warm tubs at best.
Same! Pools are empty, no lines anywhere 😂
Ew hot tubs are so gross as well as pools on ships

I’m a little confused - do we need to bring towels off the ship? Or can we just grab a towel when we get onto the island?
Both. Last time I got towels at the Island and returned them at the cruise.
I was there 8/26/24, you can towels with your seapass either on the ship or on the island 😊
Where do I fly to get on these cruises? From Australia
Miami, Ft. Lauderdale & Orlando are the three ports that have many itineraries that visit CoCo Cay.

If you book the balloon ahead of time, and that day the weather keeps the balloon grounded and you are unable too ride it, will your money be refunded?
Yes
Sadly that happens way more often than they would like.
The lockers are free?!?!? Thanks for the tip
If you booked the water park, can you change your mind and get a refund?
when a icon class ship go to europe?
Every time one is born!
Nice island with good beaches and plenty to do.
The price of water park is a joke though for what is a very low tier park.
Captive audience pricing in full effect!

$114 for the zip line? That’s crazy!
One time only 😮
As an Aussie we would say CocoCay (as in day)!!!
Less than 30 days for us. 😁🤣
Mozzarella sticks there are the best
Wow I dont have to pay for "beach access wheelchairs" thank god
Matt, I think it's funny that you're insisting on saying CoCo Key instead of Coco Cay; but you keep saying Bohemian instead of Bahamian. You need to look these up! These two words represent completely different parts of the world and mean totally different things. 😀
I'm definitely not saying Bohemian, as in the place in Germany. That being said, I don't say Bay-hay-maian.
Well, it's actually in the Czech Republic, but anyway...
Stop calling it Coco "key", it's "kay"!
If you ask a local, he/she will tell you how to pronounce it. My 13-yrs old daughter was curious and asked when we were there in July. In Bahamian English, they will say “key”, while American English is “kay.”
Sorry, but you are wrong. It's 'key' .
Yes it’s key
@@RichHenneburg Nope Kay. Since RCL named it that, that should be the way it is. It's their Island.
No it's not Kay!!!
Nah, I’m feeding the animals.
