if you watch fujifilm's official interview video of the xe-4 developer (although it is in japanese), he says that the xe-4 is for very minor professional photographers who wanted their cameras to be as simple as possible. That's why many features of the xe-3 (focus switch button, hand grip, customizable buttons, etc) has gone. he said "the xe-4 is unlike many reviwers say, it is a camera that was made based on the needs of the photographers who has solid shooting style and therefore didn't need too much on their camera." yet, i also think it is a good camera for everyday use :)
the developer said "the s-10 is more like an entry fujifilm camera and the xe-4 is on the very opoosite side, meaning because there is less features, it is difficult to use."
OMG you finally solved my problem! I couldn't changed my aperture in movie mode - it was always on auto / shutter priority. I just needed to switch off movie optimized control - how obvious (not). I was going nuts all day! So thanks a 349570 times!!!!!!
Great video bro! My super light combo: X-E4 + XF-16mm F/2.8 + 7Artisans 35mm f/1.2 II. Weight of my kit bag(+phone/micro speaker/spare battery) = 1.1 kg. Sweet!
I love the XF 27 mark I, although it irritates me that it sucks up dust like a vacuum cleaner. Same as the lens on the Ricoh GRIII. That's why I can't wait for the WR version to go on sale 😁
Hi Samuel, is it possible to program button(s) for faster switch between photo and movie mode, or just start recording, than using the drive button and menu operations ? Thanks.
Also wann der IS des Objektives greift.
Hey man thank you so much for this super helpful Video. I have just one further question. The data transfer via sd card to my PC is super slow. I dont have this problem with my other videocameras allthough the data has the same volume. Anyone has a idea what may be the problem?
Thanks for this video, this camera looks so pretty. I have the x-t2 I'm happy with that but I would like to have something compact like this camera. I just wonder where did you buy the foam windshield for your rode mic??
Haha I will keep it for a while :) And yes that is my new apartment and home office. So future videos will look like this. But I think I can make it look better I am still working on it!
Yes it does if you record for longer than 30.40 minutes you can get a overheat warning. I had the X-E4 shut off once after I filmed 3x 20 minute takes. With little breaks inbetween. But it can work as a B-Cam if you don't need to record long takes.
@@SamuelStreetlife thx for the answer. Am actually looking for second angle cam for streaming, so that might be an problem. So I usually do not actually hit "record", but it still should run long in standby. Xt3 handles that perfectly
@@Elizabeth_Postol I see! I can't tell you if that is going to be a problem with the X-E4 but I think it will. In your position I would look for a second hand X-H1. That's what I use for streaming and it never overheats. AF is decent too. And it would be cheaper than a X-E4. The X-H1 also comes with an attachment that fixes HDMI cables in place.
do you suggest getting the X-E4 or X-T30 as a first Fujifilm camera (coming from and old Canon DSLR)? both with the 18-55mm lens. it will be used mostly for family/kids/travel stills and I know of the newer AF in the X-E4 which the X-T30 may or may not receive...
Both would be great for family, kids, travel! I have never used the X-T30 but I think you will be happy with either. They are two different types of camera (viewfinder on the side with X-E4 and more DSLR style with the X-T30). I would go for whatever camera you feel more drawned to use based on your gut feeling : ) specs are very similar.
Damn, that uncorrected footage was matrix green. Can you get this corrected look in camera with Eterna? It would be cool to cut out all the colour correction time.
My WB wasn't correct so it looked greenish. I think if you darken the shadows you can get a closer look to my corrected version but I prefer to decide how much contrast I want in post.
I think the X-S10 is also for the "ordinary" film/photoshooter as well but with a different style body and screen function for people to choose. nice follow up review of the camera one does not really need 10bit correct? and example for better low light the mbps makes a bigger difference? (just double triple checking this info XD)
I really want the X-S10 now as my Dad-camera haha. For video it has everything (except two card slots) I need. 10-Bit is only useful when you want to heavily color grade your footage or you plan on filming stuff for TV broadcasting. For youtube 8_bit is totally fine and yes when you record at a high mbps it will be better for noise in low light. But you might still get some banding but I haven't noticed that in any of my X-H1 footage so I wouldn't be too concerned.
23mm F2 is a great lens for the X-E4 very fast and quiet. But remember that you dont have any stabilization when you record video with this lens. But you can still use it on a tripod. And the 23mm F2 has good autofocus.
If you want to shoot a lot of video and don't want to or cannot use stabilized lenses then yes, IBIS would be important. If you take mostly photos then it doesnt matter so much.
What are the main differences between XS10 and XE4? Am a beginner and this will be my first camera. I will use it mainly for photography and some videos and vlogs.. Which is a better option..?
Go for xs10 if you are only going to buy a body without the 27mm mk2 then go xs10. If you live in usa there’s currently a promo code for b&h than gives you $100 off xs10 and you can use their payboo card so they will waive the tax. It means that you will only need to pay a total of $900 for brand new xs10. This makes the xs10 with better grip and specs only $50 more than an xe4. If you also opt out for xe4 and you find yourself needing a grip cos of its brick shape, you will need to shell out another $160 usd on top of $849 for body for that thumb grip and hand grip and this totals to $1009 usd. Just my two cents. Personally, I’ve been waiting for the 27mm mk2 and needing a small street camera to compliment my xt3’s sensor so I went for xe4+27mm bundle. If it’s just a camera body then xs10 with $100 off with no tax at b&h is a no brainer.
I thing the xs10 will suit u better. The xs10 is a vlogger oriented camera. Easy to use, small, it has 5-axis in-body image stabilization, external mic and headphone sockets, better grip.

Artistan for Nikon via adapter right? Can't find the one for fuji
I like your “Dad Camera” idea, but the only really cool Dad Cams are those massive 10kg shoulder VHS cams from the late 80’s 💪😂

Does this camera have display markers like Sony's so you can compose the aspect ratio of your videos?

I have never seen the sling bag from moment so I am not sure. But it should be a really small package with the 35mm F2.
