What is mastic powder?

Mastic is a resin obtained from the mastic trees on the Greek island Chios and is produced in "tears" or droplets. It is also known as the "tears of Chios". It dries into pieces and has to be ground to get the powder. It has a wonderful flavor and we use it in many recipes.
