I lost my Mom last year and I'm 31. This song hits me because of the lyrics but also because she liked this band because of me. I love you Mom. This is for you. You're headbanging in heaven.
The video is actually heavily inspired by the fountain, even recreating most of the scenes in the movie almost exactly. Spoilers below. The Fountain is about a man who’s wife is dying of cancer. She’s writing a book about the tree of life, and she leaves it to her husband for him to finish. She passes away, and he writes about himself, traveling through space in a spaceship with the Tree of life that holds her soul. He reaches Xibalba, and the tree dies before he even gets there. He realizes that death is inevitable and incurable, and in order to bring her life, he must sacrific himself. It’s a fantastic movie and I recommend it. I have a whole tat sleeve dedicated to it.

To be fair, this song was partially written by Tom before he passed. I'm still waiting to see what they're capable of without him. I try not to doubt my boys at all, but it's still a possibility that it will be different.
Snooch tbf with Josh in the equation as well, and Dan being there to help Tom on past albums I believe they can write killer instrumentals, my concern was lyrics but I have been shown dans got his twins talent regarding that
Snooch to be fair, Tom is a mastermind at writing music, but Dan and Sam are just as talented, and Josh seems to be close to Tom with writing potential and shredding skills.
My mom and my Dad taught me Metalcore and Metal Music. She died 8 years ago and my dad did suicide with 25. This music is helping me cure my inner feelings and I'm glad I had parents who listened to this kind of music. Without them I wouldn't be what I am today.
Brother hold on! Life is strange and sad but also beautiful, Inshallah! Your moments will come, sooner or later! Hope you find peace with such songs until then..! Much love ❤
keeps their sound? they've evolved it bro listen to this then buried at sea and tell me with a straight face that they're the same band they used to be cause tbh i think thyve changed loads, as most bands do. theyve softened up a bit but still raw as fuck love the old love the new
The verse 1:13 - 1:45 is just something else. The drums, the lyrics, Sams notes, the guitar, the ambience and all it means… it always gets to the deepest part of my heart about loss. Thanks Architects for this and every single song you have created. I will forever love you.
Coco Chanel after I read your comment I went to my subscriptions and happened to see the latest one being from dreambound novelists lead the light. They're pretty good.
He never said THE best. Besides, Corey really isn't that good anymore, sure he used to be absolutely insane, but he has, in my opinion, weakened out the past few years.
When you discover a band for the first time and you want to relive that moment you first fell in love with them, this literally just happened to me! Thank you Architects!
Architects is one of the only bands that I can sit and listen to every album from start to finish. They're not my favourite band but I love the fact that they stay true to the same sound and music style with every album. Very hard to find that in music now days.
I feel lucky to have been able to follow your sons' music for the past decade. You're so much more lucky to have been right there the whole time. I'm glad to see you're proud. Give Dan a big hug for all of us, yeah?
13 years ago I lost my twin sister to a rare blood disorder, she was 20, I'm now 33. Listening to this with the knowledge that Dan and Tom wrote it, and it's release after Tom's passing, feels like emotional therapy for those who've gone through what Dan experienced, and by extension anyone whose lost a twin.
This hits home for me, I lost my mom to brain cancer shortly before the year ended. I haven't been able to listen to this song since before she passed because I knew it would be hard. Turns out this song is a good coping mechanism I've had this on repeat for a couple hours and it's helping, thank you for this. "Souls don't break they bend"❤ much love.
The fucking energy and passion here is astounding, as well as the attention to detail in mixing. Drummer to drummer, good god that snare is ridiculous. I have to believe that Tom can hear this masterpiece. On an off topic, 2:41 reminds me so much of Dead Letter Circus.
This is one of the best drum-tracks I've heard in a long time. I'm blown away every damn time they hit the last clean vocals section and he's got the high-hat on the up-beats. So expertly executed and completely applicable to the music. And if 2:41 reminds you of Dead Letter Circus then I need to go check that out (never heard of them)
Played this song today in the gym. I mean I played it on the gym's speakers for everyone to hear as I work there. Might lose my job for it cause my boss doesn't like deviations from the normal but I don't care it totally made my day. I was sick of the pop garbage coming from the radio and I just couldn't help it. Amazing new album btw
I would actually love to listen to Architect while working out in the gym but unfortunately, I also have to listen to some fucking hip hop or pop-shit. Meh.
My 12 year little brother lost his fight with cancer last week and I eventually found my way back to this song recently. I knew the lyrics but didn't understand the meaning until now. One of the hardest things I've ever had to deal with, but at least there's others that know my pain, and there's music to express my feelings. Between this song and Always by KSE, they've been getting me through this.
Jesus man... I cant imagine losing one of my little brothers that young, they're my best friends... dude I cant imagine how much that hurts and I hope you are doing okay... he will always be watching over you just like you no doubt watched over him
Fun fact (for people who didn't know): Jordan Fish of Bring Me The Horizon helped produce this song. Also Nolly (ex-Periphery) sound engineered and mixed this song.
I lost my mother four years ago to renal failure. I discovered this band after her death and bawled the first time I heard this song. The loss, the pain, the rage is overwhelming. Thank you for this. Thank you for giving a voice to loss and grief.
Wow man...this is powerful stuff. Anybody that has gone through loss can relate to this song. The lyrics just kind of resonate within you. Bravo Architects. Tom would be proud. And I am proud to call myself a fan with tears streaming down his face. Thank you for the amazing song
I have heard 100s of thousands of songs and never have I heard any vocalist EVER give everything they have. He absolutely put everything he had into this song. You can literally hear every single emotion
then also listen to "god went north" by Nothing More ;) beautiful and haunting song - not to take anything away from this song offcourse, damn.. these feels.
I know this will probably never reach you guys. But I want you to know this album in particular has helped me endure some of the craziest shit life has thrown at me in my entire life. Thank you. I've met you guys. You wont remember me. But seriously. Thank you for what you bring to the musical world.
I lost my father almost a year ago. The line “I sometimes forget I have to do this for you, and the only way out is through” really gets to me. This song is so beautiful and I listen to it all the time. Tom would be so proud. ❤️
I just have to say, I've always been so moved by this song and I missed Tom dearly when it came out. But around a week ago my grandfather passed away, and amidst all the confusion, sadness, and anger I realized I hadn't listened to music the entire week. So during some downtime before the funeral, I start listening to Architects and this song comes on. I can't tell you what it felt like when the lyrics started kicking in, and I found myself sobbing alone in my room like nothing else. The lyrics, the riffs, the music, everything just took on a new meaning and I was filled with this intense longing to say goodbye to my grandfather one more time. He was later buried that day, and the lyrics to this song wouldn't stop playing in my head. Thank you, Architects and Tom for such beautiful, intense, moving music. I loved it all before, but I now think of my favorite memories with my grandfather whenever I hear this song.
Architects are the musical interpretation of what it feels to lose someone Its a perfect blend of anger (heavy and intense riffs and drums) and sadness (ambience and emotional lirycs)
FFFIIIRRREEEE! This is the mom of the liitle blondie playing the drums in your Boston Mass Video that was created by Creeder!!! thank you for the opportunity to have that connection and have my daughter already have a love for you guys at 5 years old!!! Love you Guys!!!!! come back to Boston sooner than later... I need it!!!
What a beautiful fucking masterpiece! I legit put this on repeat 4 times. Sam's vocals are on fire, the bass is insane, the drums are applauding! This is going to be my jam for a reaaaal long time. So glad I found this. Mad respect to you guys. Love from India.
This song and video are both masterpieces in their own right, but together. DAMN. Architects has been my favorite band for years now and I am consistently shocked that a band so great somehow gets better and better with every release. Absolute banger. Cheers all
Just drop a dumbbell on his foot. It will have a great outcome, you will hear his scream irl and it will be great ice-breaker. What happends after is irrelevant, the main thing is he will notice you :^)
It seems like in the last year or so architects is finally starting to get the recognition they’ve always deserved. I think 2019 will be a big year for them.
As someone who does a fair amount of poetic writing, I adore the lyrics of this song. "All rivers flow into the sea, but its never enough" Its weird being a whole ass adult and being able to feel the crushing weight of the sentiment. Very powerful stuff.
It's from Ecclesiastes. I recommend it (at least the first part) even if it's taken just as literature or poetry. It's really beautiful in kind of a sad way
Jhan Gaviria You are wrong there bud, the band never had any lyrical message against the idea of a creator, in fact the last 2 albums had a lot of references to the old testament, who ever wrote the lyrics , was heavily invested in it.
This mammoth Song is just pure Architects, through and through. The rhythms, the tempo, the smooth layers of heavy and melodic guitars, the technical instrumental parts that recall their (really great) early records, the polished sonics, their atmospheric sensibilities and powerful sense of impact, Sam Carter’s stronger emphasis on clean singing, and the generally solid, well-written nature of the piece. ‘Doomsday‘ is not only a great song - both by the standards of Architects and their genre - but it carries so much more weight due to its immense personal meaning to the band. It’s a composition that Tom started writing but never got to actually finish, and I think that the band has done a wonderful job of not only completing it but in also honoring their fallen guitarist at the same time.
Architects are at their most successful right now so of course Epitaph is going to drop $ on these guys. Tom would be so proud of how much influence he's had and how many new fans came to appreciate his band. And the production/video is unreal!
The first time I heard architects was coming home from a guitar lesson in my dads old Yota. We had just had a laugh about how the radio only played the worst heavier music so you’d listen to the mainstream brainwashing. As we joked about about the hosts “architects with doomsday” call out…. The intro riff silenced us. My dad cranked the knob almost instantly. About a year later he surprised me with a concert ticket. I wasn’t a stranger to live shows alone as a young teen-adult. And as powerful as my father has always been, he was nearing his last few crazy shows. I didn’t tell him until last minute. He drove me 3 hours, with the intent to hang out until the show was over and drive home late night. Nah, I bought him a ticket. Got to see Tom shred some of my favorite Riffs. A few years later we had planned to see them again, but Tom passed. And my dad fell very ill. I went to the show alone. A week before my old man left this material world. Holy hell tour was in my top 3 favorite shows of my entire existence. I like to think that my dad was in the vip section with Tom Searle. Annoyingly telling him “my son loves you man he’s down there in the thick of it” and deep in the thick of it I’ll stay for architects 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I lost my best friend in December to a heroin overdose, he was 28. I miss him like nothing I've ever felt before. This song is fucking incredible. The reality of going the rest of my life before I can see him again makes me feel like I'm breaking. I'm so glad I found this song, it's making me feel and I haven't felt closer to Timmy since he died. I miss and love him endlessly, and fuckin a right this songs gunna be on repeat for a while. Thanks for reading.
I recently lost my father due to a massive heart attack, and this entire album has been helping me get through the darkest moments since. People say that this gets easier, I hope this does. Thanks for making such great and relatable music! Keep it up
of course, every words in the lyrics actually make really good sense, not like those rap songs where 90 % of the song, u hear someone says gucci gang... smoking weed. or take the example of "man's not hot". It wasn't even meant to be a song.and guess what, they both have 50 times more famous than this song that gives quality
September 17th, waking up to the message that you had taken your own life, shortly after that, October 2nd, I had awaken to another message saying you also had taken your life.. it has been 1 year now since I’ve lost you both. Nate & Sarah this song is for you ❤️😢 I know you’re up there watching 😣
This song makes me think of my uncle, it will be 5 years without him in a couple days. He used to call me A Molecule, so the fact that these dudes dissolve into molecules makes me involuntary tear up every time I watch this video. I dedicate this song to him. I hope you know you’re being missed, uncle Sergey!
"I saw the wildfire spread, You said you cheated death... That heaven was in my head"... Or "I saw the cancer spread. You said you beat the cancer, and you weren't going to die...." Chills... R.I.P. Tom
It only make sense bc they were identical twins. I mean, Dan basically sees Tom every day, every time he walks by a mirror. It must be hard for him, still.
There's something about this song that sounds absolutely massive! I think its because of the quick, immediate changes from high/midrange notes to low notes. The way it flows while still scaling the range so quickly just makes the sound cover everything. Fucking amazing song!!
First heard this song when I was slacking off in my video game design class in high school. This came on through UA-cam’s autoplay and completely caught me off guard with how incredible that main riff is. This song definitely hooked me on metalcore.
that part: "I have to do this for you and the only way out is through" feels like where Dan decided to finish this song after Tom passed away because he feels it needs to be done for his brother even though is hard to bear the loss but the only way how to cope with it is to live it through their lyrics are such inspiration for me finding a reason to be positive in this painful life
Miss you dad, you died a month ago and I listened to this song pretty often because of you. 59 is too young but I'll still call you old man. Atleast you're at ease now, rest easy buddy
Seriously impressed by Sam's vocal ability to always sound 100% over the years. Mad respect to you all!

sorry to hear that.... stay strong the world needs you cheers!
Keep going for them and for what they made you become 🥰
Judging by their musical taste, they were awesome parents. May they rest in peace...
My condolences.

That was the clue for next album what the brilian
What is it I can't understand
The end of this song leads into "Hereafter"
@NateSee
It doesn't. Look at the tracklist.... Hereafter's near the beginning, Doomsday's near the end.
Goosebumps start to finish, this is amazing
Jim White shitgod this band just knows how to send out the bumps from a goose
+jack the jackel wow kid, you got some issues
It's not everyday a band keeps their sound and continues to kill it. This song is HUGE!
Play seven Mary three
Tide Apparel don't think it sounds the same. I stopped listening bc they sounded too repetitive
keeps their sound? they've evolved it bro listen to this then buried at sea and tell me with a straight face that they're the same band they used to be cause tbh i think thyve changed loads, as most bands do. theyve softened up a bit but still raw as fuck love the old love the new
gnarly sniff repetitive, funny guyyyyy
fgee5283 sorry i kept hearing the same scream w the same emphasis on the same parts of words over and over
The verse 1:13 - 1:45 is just something else. The drums, the lyrics, Sams notes, the guitar, the ambience and all it means… it always gets to the deepest part of my heart about loss. Thanks Architects for this and every single song you have created. I will forever love you.
Love those cleans, and damn that chorus is sooo good.
Z La yeah it reminds me "novelist". Go dicover it if you don't know.
Coco Chanel after I read your comment I went to my subscriptions and happened to see the latest one being from dreambound novelists lead the light. They're pretty good.
Sam Carter is actually one of the greatest vocalist in modern metal
Julien Assier And he has without a doubt one of the most intense voices I have ever heard.
TheBoberroV98 Architects is also the most intense live band I've seen up to now. I was standing pretty far away from stage and still felt like 5th row
Uhmmm... not sure about that. Corey Taylor is a monster. I'm sure there are a few more I could mention.
He didn't say he is the greatest, but one of the greatest, so what you're saying doesn't make his point invalid
2:28 the embers still glow when I’m sober… that line hits hard every time. Much love everyone
the symbolism in this is extraordinary.
Dan acting as his brother, ascending to a higher plane. Got the chills from this, wow.
Architects is one of the only bands that I can sit and listen to every album from start to finish. They're not my favourite band but I love the fact that they stay true to the same sound and music style with every album. Very hard to find that in music now days.
PatNation87 Lost forever // lost together is my all time favorite album.
I know I could be accused of bias here but this is just utterly amazing.
It really is. You're 100% correct there
Chris Searle what a legend
Papa Architects should be proud.
Chris Searle They have lifted your son up, letting him be free. God bless your family. Greater things will come.
Deo 420 sorry to hear that. Hope you all are doing better now
Deo 420 hope all is getting better. The piano version just came out. You should check it
Deo 420
Stay strong fella. I'm sure you're doing your mother proud right now.
Sorry for your loss 😣
much love and respect for you, stay strong
Meh.
@@estelle_elith I know right. The workout would be so much better
God bless you sir.
I need to switch to your gym
Too bad you don't work at my gym bruh.
I cant imagine losing one of my little brothers that young, they're my best friends... dude I cant imagine how much that hurts and I hope you are doing okay... he will always be watching over you just like you no doubt watched over him
Sorry for your loss. Hope you and your family are doing well.
Sorry for your loss
I cant for the life understand how kids get cancer, doesn't make any sense.
Fck cancer, bro
Gone in the wind, but never forgotten.
Fun fact (for people who didn't know): Jordan Fish of Bring Me The Horizon helped produce this song. Also Nolly (ex-Periphery) sound engineered and mixed this song.
MarkyPaligs makes sense. Glitches I'm guessing?
no wonder they all sound the same. *puke*
Glad to hear BMTH still makes good music lol
@@Wollmammut I think Amo is amazing
And BMTH and Architects are both british bands sooo :)
I lost my mother four years ago to renal failure. I discovered this band after her death and bawled the first time I heard this song. The loss, the pain, the rage is overwhelming.
Thank you for this. Thank you for giving a voice to loss and grief.
I'm currently fighting kidney disease and failure. It's not nice I hope she went peacefully brother or sister.
Watching him transcend with that yell is just pure art. It's so powerful and visually stunning.
You must to hear "Thing with feathers" from everytime I die
Listen more.
I know this will probably never reach you guys. But I want you to know this album in particular has helped me endure some of the craziest shit life has thrown at me in my entire life.

I feel sorry for people who don't listen to metal,
Fr there some ppl that think that metal is dumb but if they look at All our Gods have abandoned us and the lyrics.....
Some metal is indeed dumb but that goes every music genre.
@@fs5866 absolutely
Right?
Same here. Heavy metal is ideal for dancing Paso Doble and for some songs, Jive.
One of the rare bands i can listen to the entire discography without skiping a single song.
This is how heavy bands should do clean vocals!! 10/10!!
HypnoticGaming I think so
I think their new guitarist might do Some vocals but I think probably only in a live format. This is all Sam for sure
this is the definition of ''a masterpiece''
I agree with that statement.
Truly!!!
I lost my father almost a year ago. The line “I sometimes forget I have to do this for you, and the only way out is through” really gets to me. This song is so beautiful and I listen to it all the time. Tom would be so proud. ❤️
I hope you're doing OK now. I wish you strength from the bottom of my heart
I lost my father 5 weeks ago, he was 49 years old. And im keep trying live my life without him, but this song makes me cry every time when im lisening
Here same♥
Joana Reis thank you so much. Of course I still miss him, but I am doing a lot better.
Vhlam0 ! I’m so sorry. Losing a parent is such a heart wrenching loss, but you can and you will get through this.
Stay strong!
Architects are the musical interpretation of what it feels to lose someone
Its a perfect blend of anger (heavy and intense riffs and drums) and sadness (ambience and emotional lirycs)
Also... sorry for your loss
Sorry for your loss man... how are you holding up now man? Doing good?
Pure power coming through Dan’s drumming and lyrics.

By far the best metalcore band the last 5 years. Their last 2 albums are pure.masterpieces
Just.Another.Guy. Dude Tom (RIP) was the guitarist, Sam is the singer and always has been.
GNR4Alife I would give that honour to Polaris over Architects but man they’re both that fucking good it’s hard to choose
What a beautiful fucking masterpiece! I legit put this on repeat 4 times. Sam's vocals are on fire, the bass is insane, the drums are applauding! This is going to be my jam for a reaaaal long time. So glad I found this. Mad respect to you guys. Love from India.
They should come to India for a tour of their new album Holy Hell for sure.
This song and video are both masterpieces in their own right, but together. DAMN. Architects has been my favorite band for years now and I am consistently shocked that a band so great somehow gets better and better with every release. Absolute banger. Cheers all
My friend lost his daughter and this was played by him at her funeral. She was 19mo. My her spirit always be at peace. Amen. ❤
The singer trains in my gym and I'm next to him, whilst I'm listening to his music.
I say nothing.
Lol little weird bud cool right xD
Jack Marshall haha yes, awesome idea. I bet Sam would be a bit chuffed, even if he see's people wearing their merch all the time.
tell him in the shower
he should start singing doomsday in the shower and tell Sam about the awesome band "architects" xD

I think 2019 will be a big year for them.
it never left
19.1 M :D
20 million now
As someone who does a fair amount of poetic writing, I adore the lyrics of this song. "All rivers flow into the sea, but its never enough" Its weird being a whole ass adult and being able to feel the crushing weight of the sentiment. Very powerful stuff.
It's from Ecclesiastes. I recommend it (at least the first part) even if it's taken just as literature or poetry. It's really beautiful in kind of a sad way
THANK GOD FOR ARCHITECTS
Dony Setiawan god doesn't exist stfu
if god were real, I would thank him for Architects / Tom's legacy
Its kinda going against the message architects give off.
You're welcome.
Jhan Gaviria
You are wrong there bud, the band never had any lyrical message against the idea of a creator, in fact the last 2 albums had a lot of references to the old testament, who ever wrote the lyrics , was heavily invested in it.
The song is amazing but the video is just... I mean I have no words to describe it. Tom would be so proud. Thank you, Architects, thank you so much.
Isto20 I literally cried like a little bitch, and i'm not afraid to admit it. Yeah, Tom would be proud.
It hit me hard too man...
I'm so fucking speechless... this is so touching... thank you. This is for Tom Searle, FOREVER.
That time of year, more loss. Yet, this song still stands strong for those that need it. Again, thanks. I needed this reminder
Looks like Epitaph loves Architects. The production on this clip is fucking epic. As well as song itself. Great job guys!
Why would they not ? :p
tellus.aflame who doesn t love them?
tellus.aflame that's because Nolly Get good mixed/produced it !
Architects are at their most successful right now so of course Epitaph is going to drop $ on these guys. Tom would be so proud of how much influence he's had and how many new fans came to appreciate his band. And the production/video is unreal!
I Also thought of that, they must have worked on this video a long while, like hell look at all the the detail in the cgi or what to call it.

Nestle this song is about his brother dying from cancer. You can read the meaning of all the lyrics at genius.com/Architects-doomsday-lyrics
Tommy actually wrote it as he was dying. He was the primary song writer in the band, and this is the first song written by him recorded posthumously.
Girlfriend: "Why is the singer screaming like that?"
Me: "He screams for me so I don't have to"
Deeper than i thought it would be
I love this. I’ll never not think about this again

It's IMPOSSIBLE for Architects to make a bad song. Every new song they release is an eargasm.
of course, every words in the lyrics actually make really good sense, not like those rap songs where 90 % of the song, u hear someone says gucci gang... smoking weed. or take the example of "man's not hot". It wasn't even meant to be a song.and guess what, they both have 50 times more famous than this song that gives quality

I hope you know you’re being missed, uncle Sergey!
2:41 might be my favorite metalcore moment of all time. Absolutely breathtaking.
"I saw the wildfire spread, You said you cheated death...
That heaven was in my head"...
Or
"I saw the cancer spread. You said you beat the cancer, and you weren't going to die...."
Chills...
R.I.P. Tom
;-;
Saaadddddd
i think that sentence mean that Tom claim to have cheated death, but by doing that, he also cheated heaven! Rest in peace, Legend.
Dan explained that this line was because he kept seeing Tom in his dreams.
Tom left us with one final masterpiece before he left this world. His magnum opus
that part: "I have to do this for you and the only way out is through" feels like where Dan decided to finish this song after Tom passed away because he feels it needs to be done for his brother even though is hard to bear the loss but the only way how to cope with it is to live it through
their lyrics are such inspiration for me finding a reason to be positive in this painful life
All the album left you with this message. That's why is so important
this could be one of the many greatest metal songs of all time, that riff is so badass
