I know you'll think I'm nuts but I just bought an Airfryer. You don't lose much fat at all using one of those but, the most heavenly thing about them, is they keep the kitchen so clean. It's amazing, the kitchen stays completly clean. Heaven.
Hey, Doc. Just found your channel recently. Nice kitchen set-up you've got there. I'm coming up on ten years carnivore on the first of 2023. I've cured a 35 year seizure disorder this way and I'm never going back.
@@philvalentine7665 Electrolytes can be helpful as you are transitioning off of carbs and once in a while they help if you are doing a long fast or doing some extremely challenging workout in high temps (like running a marathon in Arizona). They are not needed on a regular basis though. Supplements in general are not needed unless you have a specific deficiency that has actually been tested (not reading some website that says YOU need more vitamin XYZ).
The MD behind your name and the furnishings in your house explain how you can afford to eat that way. It looks delicious, but I have to eat cheaper cuts of meat doc. I'm sure yours is healthier than mine, but mine is 1000x healthier than eating carbs, and I'm happy doing what I can with what I have. Ground beef, a pork butt, bacon, fried chicken leg quarter (fried unbattered in lard), sometimes just all beef bologna. I'm not criticizing you at all. You have a beautiful kitchen and that steak looks delicious. I just want people with more modest budgets to know they can do carnivore too.
I eat all the off cuts. I eat Chuck and smoke it, or crock pot, or sous vide it then sear. I eat Beef tounge, ox tail, shank. Lamb is great and cheaper than beef in my region. Pork is a rare commodity. I will buy pork belly or pork shoulder when I can find it and make my own bacon and buckboard bacon. The cheaper cuts can taste wonderful. I rarely get to afford a steak.
Nice video. Funny to find your channel. I'm a urogynecologist in Dallas that does a lot of endometriosis surgery and I give out your practice's information to many patients. We've helped quite a few patients together, not even knowing each other. Regarding carnivore and/or keto diet, it's helping me quite a bit with weight loss. I'm down about 55 pounds, still a long way to go but this diet seems to be the best way to control the monster known as appetite.
It baffles me that so many women refuse to give up things harmful to reproductive/feminine health. My hats are off to doctors who deal with it day in and day out without losing it I can't get my diabetic mom to stop drinking, much less, not eat carbs. And she can't figure out why she feels bad. It's maddening.
@@divinefoods5918 Let me clarify. Dr. Kiltz is an infertility specialist and I've given his practice information for infertility, not carnivore diet counseling. As far as diet goes, I'm not convinced that carnivore is the final destination for everybody. I personally eat primarily meat, eggs, fish and I do eat some vegetables and it's helped me lose a lot of weight. We know why this works- weight loss is calories in and calories out but reducing the effects of insulin and carbohydrates can drastically reduce appetite and improve adherence to life in a calorie-deficit environment. There is data linking red meat and high fat to increases in estrogen and in endometriosis but the patients in any studies I've read weren't carbohydrate-restricted. Is the problem red meat or is it the synergy of animal fats and red meat with the insulin spikes of a carbohydrate rich diet? More studies need to be done. Thanks for making me clarify. I can see how my comment might cause some confusion.
I just found your channel after watching the "REVERSED" episodes introduced by Dr. Ken Berry's channel. Obviously, I am NOT the epitome of great health, but have had dramatic results in BMI% in only 3 months of cutting out grains, bread, and most sugar. I am no longer afraid of cholesterol and meat fat. I am in a healthy/normal BMI % for my height/weight now....165ish lbs. @ 5' 9" from 190 lbs. I feel the energy difference for sure. Great stuff here!
I’ve had SNF Gold Cowboy steaks a number of times. You first mentioned black and then you said ‘gold’. By the looks, it doesn’t have the marbling of the Gold that I’ve purchased from SNF. Regardless, it’s more marbled than prime which is great. I did a SNF Cowboy Gold just 2 days ago and it was amazing. It’s so soft, compared to normal beef. Next time, please rest the steak! (Of course it’s your steak and cook it how you like), but seeing an MD talking about carnivore diet makes me happy. I’m not THAT heavy, but have lost ~30 lbs the past few months. The most important thing is that I feel better, and then losing weight and getting slimmer, it’s perfect!
Thank you so much for your comments and I do get both the black and the gold and sometimes once I’ve taken the package and throwing away I forgotten what I’m I’m cooking but snake River Farms is my particular most favorite steak out there so enjoy and God bless

I'm a 51 perimenopausal woman who has been struggling with all the symptoms. I can't believe how quick this way of eating has relieved me. Thank you for all the crucial information.
Hello, so how many times u guys are eating this in a day? 2 times - 3 times? In comments I read some people got gut with eating only this after around 10-14 days , I dont know who to believe anymore :)
Looks excellent ❤. Just lost 50lbs on a 40 days/40 nights water fast, and after a refeed with broth, soups, veggies, I’m coming back to keto/carnivore. P.S. Pittsburgh is the absolute best way to eat a steak. 😊
Watching this as I eat my steak on a stick, fresh Canada Goose leg quarters! I like my Ribeyes gently mooing yet, and I am a grilled. I put butter and salt on one side, grill, flip, add more butter and salt, done. Cut it into chunks, all fat and meat together, and clean my plate! I usually eat 2 steaks as they aren't as large as yours. I finish with half and half or heavy cream to drink. I can't give up my milk and ice cream. I'm not a cheese lover and I have always hated coffee and tea. So my well water with LMNT and milk.
Dr Kiltz says in the video, he is only going to eat part of that, what he calls the cap, for his meal. The other part, that he sliced up after he cooked the cap, is for next time. He is not going to eat any plants or juice. So the meat looks expensive, but he is eating at home, not in a restaurant. I bet his cost for rib eye is total maybe $30 a day. On the other hand, you don't have to buy rib-eye. You can buy chuck steak. You can buy ground beef. Scrounge around for various cuts of meat that go on sale. I find I can get meat on sale, if I am willing to be flexible on which cut I will accept.
I agree with the good doctor. Been carnie for 3 months and the stricter j go the better I look and feel. I’ve got to the point where the ‘boredom’ gives such well being that I happily eat only steak salt salamis liver and water. It bring such rewards it’s no sacrifice at all.
Hi - I wanted to share a recipe of something I have been makin'. I'm on an OMAD, carnivore diet with Monday all day fasting! It's a 3 day - "seafood casserole" kind of creation. Consists of a can of Albacore tuna in spring water, a can of sardines - wild caught in water and a vacuum packed large piece of wild caught alaskan salmon (coho or sockeye) from Trader Joes, all cooked on my outside covered grille. I put the salmon on a foil boat out on the covered grille and while its cookin', I make a foil boat platter with about 20" of foil, folded long way in1/2 and then cup up the outer edge (about an inch) to make a boat. After the salmon cooks (about 15 minutes) I scoop it into the mixture. Then scoop in the tuna (after draining water) and the sardines drained (all in a big bowl, smashed up and stirred with a fork) - and stir it up.and break it all up and stir it in. Then I scoop it all into the foil boat and flatten it out and put a couple scoops of beef tallow (fat) on top for oi as well as any salt, spices or any sprinkle you like! Then back in to the grille for about 10 -15 more minutes. But I also make about 6 local free range raw eggs whipped in a bowl and pour it on top and kind of level it out so there is egg on the whole surface. . In 10 minutes, i cut it in 3 with a spatula and I have a 3 day casserole that last me for 3 meals (days)! It only comes to about $5 per day to eat! It's awesome!! (NO FISH TASTE AT ALL!)
the reason the carnivore diet works for me is that if I eat anything other than meat I will be hungry all day whilst eating too much. On carnivore I do OMAD and I dont even know what hunger is anymore. I am so full still after not eating 24 hours. I do stuggle with eating enough now. 300 grams of meat + glass of milk is my upper limit and that is all I eat on most days. I guess I will just be a skinny guy then.
Sorry Kiltz to desagree. . . I don´t think this is boring anyway . . This is fantastic! My cravings are all aroung fat. . . butter, meat fat, olive oil, coconut oil, tallow from cow, lard from pigs, fat from chickens. . . . Did you try cooking Ox tail and salt in a press pan with a lot of water, 2 hours of low fire and add more water. This water once you put in the refrigerator become a delicious gelly with fat on top. . . Top of fat, minerals and collagen. This is the king to me, Try it and tell me.
Yes, Yes!!! if that’s a non stick pan heating it at that extremely high temp is undoing every good part of the diet. Frying up a bunch of extremely toxic chemicals😳😳

Hi Dr Kiltz, I just watched your video with Dr Berry, it's awesome! Do you think one meal a day is OK for trying to conceive? I noticed my period is shorter and lighter since going OMAD although all PMS are gone. Thank you

@@vandpiben Yep. All non-organic grains today are heavily laced with glyphosate. It's the long-term, constant, large amounts of glyphosate consumption which sets up all kinds of chronic, terminal illnesses in the general population.
I love a SRF gold grade cowboy streak & you're correct, the cap is the very best part. I do two minutes on each side, pop in oven until it reaches 110 degrees & butter baste after that, aiming for a mid rare 120 degrees. I like a blue steak cold & sliced thin, like a carpaccio without the extras.
@@Cattitude369 No, that's the insane part...The imported meat is most often cheaper. Especially the ground beef. The meat from our local butcher is VERY expensive. Especially if I would want steaks. But even the ground beef is twice as expensive as the imported.
Do you have any concern of high temperature rendered fat oxidation? I mean...I see you're cranking the heat, saving the grease, and eating said grease. I have no concerns of surface level fat rendering and oxidation, protein denaturing, etc, but I dunno about consuming rendered fat that has been directly exposed to those temperatures. I know oxidized linoleic acid will be very bad, but what the hell even happens to saturated fat when it gets exposed to damaging temperatures?
I'm wondering the same. I wouldn't turn up the heat too high myself. Hell, if it was good quality steak, I might just make a raw steak tartare instead.
@@missthunderstormable well this is obviously not true according to countless peer reviewed studies. Even ghee, which is the most stable animal fat, will oxidize if exposed to enough heat for enough time. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5337355/ This study is actually pretty promising and I haven't seen this one, but it still shows that oxidation occurs. It's possible that in highly saturated animal fats, the oxidized products in these high heat exposed fats are not ideal, but also not something that we can't handle. This study seems to almost support this. I'm skeptical on exposing more unsaturated animal fats like lard and poultry fat of all things. I've already read enough studies that do not favor lard at all when compared to tallow. In a study of 3 different fats combined with high alcohol intake, rats who ate the corn oil died of liver damage. Rats who ate the lard did not die, but had some liver damage. The rats that ate tallow got no liver damage. One shouldn't consume alcohol, but in this extreme study, it still shows that if you are going to use high heat and actually plan on eating the grease, you probably shouldn't be heating one of the most unsaturated animal fats that exists...poultry fat from fattened duck liver.

I am carnivore. No matter how much I explain, some of my friends still believe I am talking about eating a high protein diet. No, I am not trying to eat high protein. Yes, the meat is protein. But it is only "high" in the eyes of my friends because they are comparing what I eat to what they eat. They eat pizza. I like in this video Dr Kiltz emphasizes he wants to eat the fat. He is saving the fat that melts into the frying pan, so he can eat that fat too when he eats his steak. He says clearly, he is eating 60 percent fat, 40 percent protein. I recently bought a stainless steel frying pan, and like Dr Kiltz is showing in this video, it is a great way to cook. I have given up on enamel coated, or various non-stick type coatings for frying pans. Stainless steel spreads the heat well, and it scrubs up clean and shiny without much effort.
Just discovered your channel and really enjoy watching. I’ve been carnivorous for three years now. I love it and will never go back. I do a very physical job. Would it still be ok to eat once a day or twice? I typically eat ground beef, eggs and butter with a little bit of cheese over the top. Never get bored of it.
Just started carnivore a few weeks ago and although I feel better I haven't lost any weight. Looking at your portions now I know why... I've been eating too much. I'm still hungry although I probably shouldn't be 😩
Cut out ALL carbs, grains, veggies, fruits, sugars and seed oils. No cheating. Ramp up the fatty meats, organ meats, butter, cream, cheese, eggs, dairy, ghee, lard, tallow. You may not be losing weight because, on carnivore, you lose your fat but will build up your muscle mass. Combine carnivore with IF (intermittent fasting), which is to eat only during a 6-8 hour window period each day, and you will see results fast. Plus, you will be full of energy and will not feel hungry.
You say most vitamins and minerals are on that fat. But the fat usually goes to high heat. What i see over there in your pan looks a bit burned, darkened. Do you think there can be some vitamins survived in that high heat? minerals will survive for sure but vitamins?
Usually, just the outside is seared, but the inside is not cooked through, so it should retain vitamins. I think more vitamins are lost during long cooking.
@@Cattitude369 thank you for the reply but what i meant is the rendered fat might be burned a bit. That rendered fat, remainder of the steak, should we consume it or not? because it looks very dark liquid.
I agree, I am concerned about eating burnt fat, I have heard it’s oxidized. Also I had a keto doctor tell me the pan drippings are very difficult to digest. My gut is healing still so I don’t eat the pan drippings but I will add butter or tallow to my steak when eating.
yes cooking the fat will degrade and destroy a lot of nutrients, also much harder to digest. Best to eat the fat raw tho ngl that seared beef fat is super tasty. I would toss the cooked grease and add raw butter or marrow
There is such a controversy about eating liver. The carnivore doctors and dieticians can't seem to agree on whether it is good or essential for you or whether it is damaging. Personally, I don't like liver.
I decided for myself not to use a plastic cutting board because every time i cut or slice something on it, i get little plastic particles with my beautiful meat. Cool, it looks really delicious. Can't do blue, though.
Hey Doc, 1. Why all the unnecesary smoke point heated fat rendering? It is less damage to the fat, & more nutritous to chew that fat untrimmed & just as rare or medium rare as your steak instead of you "drinking" it per se renderred. 2. Why all the cutting your steak up into multiple chunks? Especially before it has time to reabsorb its juices 1st. 3. Why cutting it with the grain? Instead of slicing the whole steak a bite at a time at about a 45° or greater angle against the grain. It will chew easier. 4. Your knife is really dull. Just sayin🙃😉
People think I'm crazy for eating a spoonful of cold bacon grease with every other bite of cold bacon. Man that's tasty =) I also save the burger fat my wife pours off after browning it. Good on top of steak leftovers heated up the next day. Always skin on chicken thighs for me and my dog and I eat the skins I had to remove from her chicken as a treat while grilling.
Um, I don't think that's rendering, I think rendering is done with very low heat? Anyway, I can't eat the oil from the fat if it has been heated at a high temperature, I get bad heartburn. Also, I can't eat the more gristly fat of the steak for the same reason, but I can eat the softer milky-looking fat. Thanks for the video, though, they are extremely important for society.
Thank you so much for your comments I agree with you you have to be careful and likely the best food to eat is completely uncooked that used to cool white stuff that’s the best
If you are just having the meat and not all of the snacks, veggies, fruits, etc… and eating once a day that decreases grocery cost, then also if you have access to a local meat processor that helps as well. We have a place that for 12 meals of meats was around 120
Hi Dr. I don't think that looks boring. It looks real, looks exciting to me. Eating real food, basic stuff. Sad to say, because of food getting stuck, I can't eat steak and I love steak n eggs, and steak and mushrooms, onions
I enjoyed your presentation. I think I know the answer but is wine and all alcohol off the menu? I'm getting informed on all this and you are new to me. I don't have any health issues to speak of, except somewhat of a gut at 69 years. I would value your input on this. Thank you, Glenn

Now on carnivore I have had no new grey hairs growing in eye brows and still no grey hair in my natural blonde hair. And in the sun it gets super light highlights.
* no more body odor!
* I used to get a little anxiety with large crowds- like if attending special events- but since on carnivore I don’t get it that much.
*I was a bit OCD before carnivore, but so much more relaxed so barely like that.
* I was a relaxed person before, but somehow am even more relaxed and never stress about things.
*Since I was a young child my sense of smell has been terrible. But not even a month in on carnivore my sense of smell has gone crazy! I smell things even far away! Amazing!
*no more allergies! I was allergic to cedar and oak pollens- and mold- but since carnivore I am no longer reacting to those outdoor pollens which is amazing!
* I have had no more issues from ear wax build up. Had it twice after having kids and docs would say it was a hormonal problem. Carnivore cured that too!
If I think of anything else will add. ☺️👍🏻
I know when people go on carnivore they are trying to heal something, but if they aren’t like me and notice small things- they may not notice they are healing way more than they realized- things plant foods were causing! And they need to remember, processed foods are made from plants- but so are whole foods (raw or cooked!) they are all toxic!
The carnivore diet cures! ☺️👌🏻 The body is a network made of multiple gears- and if one gets messed up it causes a whole domino affect of problems like I had! The carnivore lifestyle is not a fad, it’s the ancestral human way of eating! Go Carnivore for a few months and see how you feel! ☺️👍🏻

I know you'll think I'm nuts but I just bought an Airfryer. You don't lose much fat at all using one of those but, the most heavenly thing about them, is they keep the kitchen so clean. It's amazing, the kitchen stays completly clean. Heaven.
I tried his blue cheese melted over steak ..... OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey, Doc. Just found your channel recently. Nice kitchen set-up you've got there. I'm coming up on ten years carnivore on the first of 2023. I've cured a 35 year seizure disorder this way and I'm never going back.

Wow! Amazing. I'm only 4 months in, but have lost 10 pounds and most of my arthritis pain is gone. I crave meat now, so funny.
Do you take electrolytes, or any supplements?
@@philvalentine7665 Electrolytes can be helpful as you are transitioning off of carbs and once in a while they help if you are doing a long fast or doing some extremely challenging workout in high temps (like running a marathon in Arizona). They are not needed on a regular basis though. Supplements in general are not needed unless you have a specific deficiency that has actually been tested (not reading some website that says YOU need more vitamin XYZ).
@@robinbeers6689 Makes sense. Thanks for the reply.
Try chuck steak. Cheap but similar nutritional profile to ribeye.
I prefer chuck to ribeye, though I can afford it
I eat all the off cuts.
Same here. I definitely can't afford those high end meat prices.
Still enjoy my beef.
Then you could have said that in a couple of sentences and not a big ole paragraph.
My hats are off to doctors who deal with it day in and day out without losing it
I can't get my diabetic mom to stop drinking, much less, not eat carbs. And she can't figure out why she feels bad. It's maddening.
I always thought meat was bad for endometriosis?

I shouldn't have watched this while fasting, now I'm hungry😁

WOW! I just looked that up - ONE steak is roughly 160.00. Cut into 3rds that's 50 per day.
Unfortunately most of us can't afford to eat this way
You dont have to eat grass fed grass finished beef to be carnivore. Get what you can afford. Ken Berry has a great video about this
Why can't you? If you're not buying all the other crap it's a cheap way to go on a weekly basis
Thank you for all of your tips. Your attitude rocks.
I agree with the good doctor. Been carnie for 3 months and the stricter j go the better I look and feel. I’ve got to the point where the ‘boredom’ gives such well being that I happily eat only steak salt salamis liver and water.

Looks amazing....I was waiting for you to plate it and take a bite with that blue cheese and butter! YUMMmmm
I wish I could afford a 3-pound ribeye every day.
I'm pretty sure he said he was only eating about ⅓ of it. So that's a 1-pound ribeye every day.
Gettin close doc. Im right behind you. Thanks for putting this up.
I am DROOLING! That looks SO DAMN GOOD ... I love RARE meat.
the reason the carnivore diet works for me is that if I eat anything other than meat I will be hungry all day whilst eating too much.

This type of fat lard or beef rendering can stay unchanged at high temp, unlike seed oils like sunflower

Your surreal take out for the day is "It's the FAT that you want to eat!!". Priceless.

You will lose it! Hang in there ❤
Cut out ALL carbs, grains, veggies, fruits, sugars and seed oils.

You need more fat in your diet it seems like. Fat is what makes you feel satiated.
U aren't doing it right then, the first two weeks are massive weight loss weeks..
Your right!
Yes I couldn’t help notice alright, alright, alright, right.

Alright! :) LOL
That’s EXACTLY how I like me steak - in between medium rare and rare. Sometimes I even like Blue Rare! It’s completely delicious! 😋👍🥩🥩
Hey Doc,
Why all the criticism?
So what do you do with the extra grease poured into the bowl? Refry other things in it?
Usually just drink the remainder.
People think I'm crazy for eating a spoonful of cold bacon grease with every other bite of cold bacon. Man that's tasty =) I also save the burger fat my wife pours off after browning it. Good on top of steak leftovers heated up the next day. Always skin on chicken thighs for me and my dog and I eat the skins I had to remove from her chicken as a treat while grilling.

raw is best health wise (most nutrients and no toxins from cooking) but I do enjoy a blue rare steak too
Try a delicious, raw, uncooked steak tartare. Go for it!
He definitely didn't cook it. Gross.
You are a huge inspiration !
@@doctorkiltz Yeah, probably so, but eating stuff raw can be dangerous due to pathogens.
@@BadCarbNoDonut watch sev3rige video and you will understand
@@thelandsavior402 I used to watch him but I got bored and he also seems sociopathic and dangerous.
@@BadCarbNoDonut true avoid sv3rige, read Aajonus Vonderplanitz, also some lectures here on YT
Right, all right, right, right alright, right. Where did you get your hair cut ? Right.
How do you afford eating steaks everyday with Biden prices these days?
I'd say being a doctor doesn't hurt his bank account.
Great enfo Dr thanks
Yes indeed
You have to buy wholesale
If you are just having the meat and not all of the snacks, veggies, fruits, etc… and eating once a day that decreases grocery cost, then also if you have access to a local meat processor that helps as well. We have a place that for 12 meals of meats was around 120
Hi Dr. I don't think that looks boring. It looks real, looks exciting to me. Eating real food, basic stuff. Sad to say, because of food getting stuck, I can't eat steak and I love steak n eggs, and steak and mushrooms, onions
nice. i do the same thing but i throw it in the oven for a few minutes after searing, then let it rest for 10-15 minutes.
I enjoyed your presentation. I think I know the answer but is wine and all alcohol off the menu? I'm getting informed on all this and you are new to me. I don't have any health issues to speak of, except somewhat of a gut at 69 years. I would value your input on this. Thank you, Glenn
keep the alcohol very occasional and in small doses
Dr, I’d love to get the name of the ranch where you get the ribeye or just buy it at a big box. Thanks in advance.
I am switching to carnivore from Keto. Is coconut oil or MCT oil safe to eat? I am taking MCT to raise my Ketone level.
Alright...

My dermatologist gave me your information to look up and watch. Can you tell me if this would be good for a lymphoma blood cancer disease ? If I try this, should I wait until after my chemo treatments are over?
Hi I am sorry to hear this I just wanted to share this with you. Someone who had a cancer diagnosis was saying water fasting helped get rid of it. Please look into fasting and carnivore does help because apparently cancer feeds off of carbs and sugar. Will pray for your healing❤
Been devouring your website. Didn't realize you had a YT channel.
I did love a bit of cheese sauce with my steak but it didn't sit well in my stomach so I don't mix them any more. Meat alone or with eggs. Cheese alone on occasion. Cream in my tea.
Hwa full I d shit n no salt no Jesus and no need for fatty ribeyes he's wrong
You rock doc! Thanks for the generous and inspiring video! Carnivore is bending my mind!!! :-)
