    Been using this for the past 4 months and I love it. I had always wanted an affordable silent full-size (for work), and eventually my younger brother put me on to this. I've gotten compliments both from fellow custom keyboard friends and the older folk from work for the retro-y look. Love the sound, typing feel and having the ability to upload any gif I want to the mini screen.

    One thing to note is that the Sea Salt linears use leaf springs integrated into the stem for sound dampening (like on Wuque/Haimuu switches) instead of silicone pads. This results in the bottom out feeling less mushy, but the top-out sound is less dampened when compared to the more conventional silicone pads.

    I bought this one two months ago because I needed a keyboard with a numpad and I love it. Personally, the color you show here is my favorite because it reminds me the big keyboards I used at work ages ago. It's south facing, which is great for the price and the little TV screen is lovely. The cons are that it's not for keyboard enthusiasts, the charge doesn't last long, and it takes a while to get accustomed to the keycaps profile, if one wants to keep them. All in all, though, I would definitely recommend it. Nola content? The more, the better

    I got the RT100 long before there were any other color options, but frankly, I like the tan a brown look, so that's not a problem for me. Honestly, I think it's great, although I did wind up changing the keycaps to a cherry profile. The Sea Salt Silents are also pretty amazing, although I'm disappointed that they don't have the slightly longer stem that the Flamingos and the Budgerigars have that prevent cherry interference. As such, I have experienced cherry interference with the Sea Salt Silents.
    One problem I've had with the little TV screen is that it won't always come back on after waking up the keyboard while in wireless mode. I'd have to either turn it off and back on again or switch from Windows mode to Mac, then back again. Super annoying. But if the keyboard's plugged in, the TV screen is cute. And yes, it's totally a gimmick and I almost never use it.
    I still love the RT100, and it's my go-to regular-shaped keyboard, but I recently acquired the Feker Alice 98, and I just can't countenance going back to the traditional key layout. The reduced strain on my wrists and hands is just too irresistible while using the Feker.

    • @72EEL
      @72EEL Рік тому

      Hi, can I ask what cherry interference is? From what I just searched up it’s got to do with cherry switches and north facing LED but this keyboard has South facing?

    • @concernedcitizen6313
      @concernedcitizen6313 10 місяців тому

      @@72EEL Sorry I only saw this comment just now. Yes, you're right that the RT100 is SF and that Cherry inference is an NF thing. I should've been more specific in that I was talking about the switches in general, as I do have an NF keyboard.
      Just to be clear, though (and I wish Hipyo were clearer about this as well): the problem is the switch molds and/or stem lengths, not the orientation of the LEDs. There are plenty of switches that don't have a problem with Cherry interference in NF LED orientation such as the Flamingos and the Budgerigars that I mentioned. Morandis Don't seem to have a problem with Cherry interference either, although I have my problems with them, but that's a story for another day.

    Anyone who wants to buy it, daily use wise, it is a perfectt keyboard. I bring it to work everyday and it is quiet. I think the only warnings I can give is that sometimes the screen can slightly come off and I just hate that I have to readjust it since it looks ugly if I don’t. And if you’re a heavy typer, or press down on your keyboard really hard (like me) it won’t stay quiet at all, I suggest the foaming with the spacebar because for some reason, my spacebar sounds more clacky (still good sound) but not muted as much as the rest.
    So whenever I type, people can still hear me and it is louder since I really jam my fingers in there.
    Overall, it is perfect. The feel of it is amazing and the sound (apart from the spacebar) is amazing all the time. And I really love the feel on this type of plastic, it doesn’t feel like plastic, yknow?
    Highly recommend! And the numberpad is so useful!

    I'm in need of a "silent" keyboard, as quiet as possible. How does this compare to an unmodified Varmilo with Kailh Prestige Silent Switches? Possible to for you to do a video on the top 3 or 5 library silent keyboards?

    seems like its a hit or miss in chances of getting software/hardware QOL issues. That's a big nono and I just can't imagine getting something so inconsistent with other people's reviews online.

    going to have to do some research. i like the idea of a silent keyboard, but i dont like this one, the colors. I also want caps where the RGP shines through. but also know nothing about keyboard modding. im still using an old Logitech mechanical keyboard.

    The off-white is the only retro colors. They've only been white, off white and black. Very few options ever existed otherwise so i dont understand why that's an choice for colors.

    I was looking into a mechanical keyboard for the first time, I watched a lot of your stuff and ended up with this keyboard. I love this keyboard so much! I got the RT100 with the Sea Salt Silent switches. I love the feel and sound of it, it's so satisfying. I love it so much I find any excuse I can to just type and type. From a keyboard newbie, Thank you!

    Oh well... really debating NeoChrome of either one. Might end up with the Escape, since my new keyboard lacks a < 2u space.

      If you don't mind Full size keyboard, whith good Backlight, and See-through Key caps, I recommend Keychron C2, which I've been using for at least 1 year...It's really good in the dark...
      However, because it's a bit wide, I'm considering buying this Epomaker RT100, Japanese Layout.

    That retro off-white/cream color, I remember it from the 80s and 90s way too well... Also, howlalooja, a quiet keyboard...I already get plenty of KLAKLAKLAK from my wife's desk (and it's coming from a Logitech membrane keyboard).😅

    i dont even know why many hated plastic mechanical keyboard and confused whats really the problem is. I personally liked plastic keyboard because i think it is a little lighter compared with metal/steel base in term of weight.
