After spending hours trying to actually understand this concept, this truly is without doubt THE BEST video ever made on this topic. You are a life saver!
The relationship between pka and pH has been bouncing around my mind for weeks but didn't quite make sense, and it finally clicked with this video! Thank you!!
Thanks for this video! I'm currently studying biochemistry (finished 1st course medicine and after 2 months will be 2nd) and this helped me a lot. I got the main point after I watched it only once. I'll wait for the titration. Have a nice day!
I put off this MCAT chapter because even after multiple times of reading it, it was not clicking in my head lol this was the best video ever 😂 you made it so easy to understand! Thank you!
me; studying another topic medicosis ;posts video me to me ; watch it.....it may be related to what i am reading currently 😅 i am a fan of ur hematology playlist
Thank you so much for the detailed explanation, really helped me in my studies! At 11:28mins, was there an error in the label for fully protonated? Should it have been no charge instead? The most right hand side label! Thank you!
Sulfur-containing cysteine and methionine are hydrophobic amino acids. Aromatic amino acids such as phenylalanine, tyrosine, and tryptophan are also hydrophobic. Serine and threonine are polar amino acids with hydroxyl groups that make them hydrophilic.

Not pronated or depronated, but proTOnated and deproTOnated
You’re correct!

I’m confused about Tyrosine, is it polar or non-polar?

Hello teacher! I have a question but it is not related to this video. My question is what does steroid sparing mean? Thank you
I've never heard of that concept.
It literally means: "without using steroids". Other than that, I have no clue!
@@MedicosisPerfectionalis I saw this when I was reading the treatment of ectopic dermatitis at Dynamed.
small error around 11mins should be NH2 not NH3+ fully pronated. part is correct in middle of image but outside on right is wrong
"order from chaos". Witcher
thank you so so much!

Can we do it for 1st year mbbs
Are sulfur containing cysteine and methionine hydro Phil or phobic? What about aromatic PhE, tyr, trp or alcohol ser and thr?
Sulfur-containing cysteine and methionine are hydrophobic amino acids. Aromatic amino acids such as phenylalanine, tyrosine, and tryptophan are also hydrophobic. Serine and threonine are polar amino acids with hydroxyl groups that make them hydrophilic.
When will be the titration video out?
In a few days!
From where can I find the pka number of all groups?? 😅
I don't get why we need to make the environment's PH equal to the PKa of the drug, why can we just make the drug turn into a non ionized molecule?
is this even high school chemistry. cuz it feels like high school chemistry but seem like uni biomed stuff
I have a strong feeling you're arab lol (we arabs just have that specific sense of humor)
great video!! thanks so much!!!
11:50 😂❤
pk what is the abberivation?
“Potentia Konstant” or “constant power” or something like that :)
