What will happen when the camera detects a motion? Is it possible to hear a ring bell from an audio device connected to the DVR?
If you connect a siren to the alarm out of select DVRs, yes you can output a audio signal.
what if you want to record everything, but just use motion detect for flagging events. essentially forming a log, indexing the video. are there dvr's that do this?
You can so the same with our DVRs.
are all cctv cameras capable of being motion sensitive?
Depends. If you are using a camera with a DVR then the DVR will take care of the motion detection.

Yes there are DVRs that do not have motion detection from other companies. You have to check with the manufacturer of your DVRs.
