Magnetic door sensors are connected to the alarm input port of the surveillance DVR and a strobe light is connected to the alarm relay output port. An iDVR-PRO H.264 CCTV DVR is used in this video to demonstrate.
The DVR is configured to take these actions when the door that the sensors are monitoring is opened.
~ The DVR starts video recording.
~ The DVR sounds an audio buzzer.
~ The camera associated with the alarm is displayed on the screen.
~ An alarm message is displayed on the screen.
Although not configured in this example, iDVR-PRO surveillance DVRs can also be configured to send an email notification and FTP upload a snapshot of the event that occurred.
The types of burglar alarm devices used in this video are just a few examples of the types of sensors that integrate with a security DVR. Some other types include: PIR motion detectors, glass break detectors, and infrared trip wires.

My dvr has alarm input and outputs. Is it possible to connect the dvr to existing sensors that are being utilized by my hard wired home alarm system?... The Main goal is to have my dvr send me an alert and snapshots to my phone when my alarm goes off.

my Panasonic WV-SC588 camera has aux terminals the manual does it say much. can these pins contact to a relay? or are they digital IO data?
Installed it myself without any issues. The wifi signal is great even ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxE_D_sddGAdiVUKp7PkkmyxO7bRtgqmk5 when the router is located far away. I really enjoy the night vision feature that allows me to see clearly any activity near our house (mostly cars and wild animals). The motion detection is helpful to me as well to monitor what happens on our front.

Hi Chris. We always supply the terminals with the DVRs and NVRs that we sell. I have never seen them sold separately because the style varies based on the recorder and number of alarm inputs / outputs. you could hook the light to your camera power provided there the same volatges, plus ull have protection. so buy bigger pwer supply than what u need. last every thing is in one place when things go wrong lol.
does this dvr do alarm per motion square too? and can u define your areas for motion detection? So say you have it looking ata door but it sees the street to so you only pick the squares that are not seeing the street traffic and only triggers motion recording when in the defined areas. like i like to put motion 5, continuous at 1 and alarm at 20. all this would be a good video subject too. it can be a hot subject every one has there preferred setups. but this subject can be confusing to users.
Tanker Templar yes, this DVR also supports motion detection video recording. Yes, you can define zones for each camera where the motion is activated and you can have other camera's recording activated by other triggers / alarms. Sebastian Cotae thank you for watching! At this time, iDVR-PRO only woks with CCTV cameras and we are adding support for AHD cameras within a few months. For network IP cameras, we do have other solutions that support alarm inputs and relays.

Toofat Chong the actual board is just wood press board. The strobe light is a 12V DC burglar alarm strobe A generic magnetic door sensor and some screw down wire terminals that we got from Radio Shack before it closed down.
