Well Joe you hit a Home Run with that Tribute to your Dad. I took care of both of my Mom and Dad. They were never put in a Nursing Home and Both received excellent care from Myself. Mom Passed First and Dad five years later. After that, I forgot to Mention my Brother did not help at all. In June of 1998, I met the Love I was looking for. My Brother wanted to take both of us to the Cleaners, thru nothing more than Greed. But we had a Good Lawyer and Managed to stay in the House. Anyways I with my Wife and my Lawn Service that I had we did very good. Then I got a very good Job with a local School District which I Retired from in 2016, but still work PT. as a SRO, AND SENIOR CUSTODIAN. So now it's just My Wife and Myself and our Woodpile that's keeps use going along with Working PT. I can see your Dad did a great Job with you Buddy. May GOD BLESS YOU JOE SO YOU CAN KEEP AT YOUR GREAT BUSINESS OF FIREWOOD. There is More to tell you, but someday when we meet I will explain everything to You, and I would like to here more about your Dad. Ron from the Woodyard in Duanesburg NY.

I have enjoyed this tradition of Joe reading this letter to his father. My father is in failing health but we have been making the time that we are able to spend together count. The opening statement about you being lucky having a great upbringing will always ring true, I'm afraid. Few things in life will change or destroy people/family's quicker than money, power and materiel possessions, in various order. You stayed the course as taught, which still is credit to you as well.

Hit me just as hard as the first time I saw it, makes me feel as though I knew your dad even though we never met. In a couple weeks it will be 9 years since my dad passed and there isn't a day goes by that I don't think about him. Happy Father's Day, Joe

Hi Joe - it's Big Rodders in Ireland. Its good to reflect on times past on this day, although most of us think of our dads on a very frequent basis. Mine died in 2011 aged 97 having been born in the early months of World War 1.

I dont know how i hadn't seen it before but im so glad i just watched your tribute to your dad....
Man did it catch me off-guard! I was just driving along, driving along and just listening to you, i started balling my eyes out, wow did that come unexpectedly! Splitting and stacking wood with my dad as a kid was probably some of the best memories I have of him and sure ignited a life long passion for firewood. Thanks for sharing your tribute Joe, you did so extremely eloquently. You make me miss my dad, he passed away on his way to work, at 71, with 54 years as a truck driver. He passed his passion on to my sister and I who have both been truck drivers for over 20 years. Passions passed down to children early on stick with them
All I can say is Wow!😢 Some of the things that Joe wrote to his dad are so in tune with my dad's journey. Dad passed away April 18 2024 and he is definitely missed!!! Thanks for everything dad.

Awesome guy Joe. Always soothing to see nice in life. Unfortunately my twin girls were murdered by mother due to hate, hold up, & Bias here in NY. My life is over and I never became successful due to towns treatment to my Veteran partner and I. Father’s Day passed & I give up. Waiting on death now unfortunately.
