Great video and recommendations. We visited last week and we were able to score a Long House tour. It was amazing. My only other recommendation would to be to stay at least one night at the Far View Lodge. We had a King Suite w/balcony and the stars were amazing. You can see them as you fall asleep from the big picture window too. The Matate restaurant food was fabulous. They have a great chief. Enjoy
I agree with you about the attraction to Mesa Verde, and many similar places in the 4 corners. The landscape is amazing, but then add the culture of the ancient Puebloans, and the mystery surrounding their cliff dwellings, and it is an awe-inspiring place to hike. Thanks for the informative and beautiful video!
I visited MV in early Oct 2024. I toured Cliff Palace & Balcony House. I remember one passage being difficult to navigate, so I went feet first & on my back. I also remember 2 wooden ladders, one 15 ft high & the other 30 ft high. Don't look up, don't look down, look straight ahead, & you can make it up (that's how I did it anyway). A few days later I saw similar ruins in Aztec, NM.
We love this National Park. A lot has changed over the last few years. I did like the new app. It was super nice to have. You'll have to go back when you can get into Step House. I think it's really one of the best ones that you don't need a tour ticket for.
I love Mesa Verde National Park, especially all the archaelogical sites. The Pueblos are so stunning. Like usual you captured everthing so well on video. 👏👍 The App is a fantastic feature and idea. Thanks for providing all the useful information and fantastic views of this stunning location, Stoof and Nate. Best wishes, Michael
This is my goal for this year. Just had full knee replacement surgery, and so far I should be able to go. Shared your video and Love it!. Have a Wonderful day everyone. Angie from eastern North Carolina but live in Colorado now 🤗❤️🤗
Hi Angela, thank you for your kind comment! I wish you a speedy recovery from your surgery! Enjoy Mesa Verde when you get a chance to visit, it's a beautiful place!
There are only fabulous uploads on Your amazing channel, my friends !👏👍... Thank You for all Your wonderful shares !😘 Wish You all the best !🌟 Warm greetings🌷 Arlette
Great explanation once again ! To bad you couldn’t do all of what you wanted ☹️ It’s a great coincidence that you uploaded this video ( we are actually uploading now ) and offering us to suggest to add some information about this famous park which we did also . We invite you to have a look at a few videos of it on our channel 7 videos total ( still 2 more to come soon ) We spent 2 days visiting this park in 2018 and would definitely return one day do see more . Thanks for showing us and informing us about things we didn’t do or see …there’s so much to do in this park Have a great weekend H&S 👩❤️👨🌈🇨🇦
Wow pretty amazing place to visit!👍I would love to visit this park!👌This place has beautiful stunning viewpoints and interesting archaeological sites!👍 Really a great place to explore and enjoy!👍I bet you guys would love to visit this park during summer time again for another trip & to try out the missed spots!👍 thank you Steph for sharing this & taking us with you guys!👌 Really enjoyed this one!👍 take care and stay blessed friend!💐
I have to say that while I understand why this wonderful area is so protected, this was the most on-rails park experience I have ever participated in. No exploration allowed.
It’s because they are trying to preserve the history of the Anasazi, a lot of people are also dumb and inconsiderate and will steal artifacts or will destroy the ruins. So that’s why this place is so protected, it is also a sacred place in the history of the Anasazi people
Yes I agree. And from a photographers point of view it really limits creativity. Even for those who are respectful to the environment it was near impossible to walk out of there with any special shots. With how disrespectful society has gotten I down blame them at all though
I was there three years ago with my daughter, and while standing on the ledge across from the Pueblo, we heard steps that lasted several seconds. After that everything was quiet again.
Currently binge watching your videos 😅 just watched your Zion Ntl. Park videos and now this one! I'm planning our yearly family vacation for summer 2023. Would you say you can visit most points/sites in 1 day ?? Sounds like you just drive thru the park and can stop to many of these.
Hi Miryam! If you visit Mesa Verde before the guided tours open up, you can see most of it in a day. If you want to do one of the tours to go into a cliff dwelling, you will probably want at least 2 days there. Thanks and have a great vacation! :)
A great park and good recommendations. One thing to note is if you’re staying in Durango, it’s a bit of a drive to reach the park and the sites of interest as was mentioned in this video, the entrance road takes time and the speed limit is slow (watch for park rangers handing out “souvenirs”). Cortez, CO is closer place to stay outside the park.
Hi! Dogs are allowed in the park, but it is very limited where they can be walked. They aren't allowed at any ancestral sites or on many of the park trails. They are allowed on paved roads and paved trails. More info here: www.nps.gov/meve/planyourvisit/pets.htm#:~:text=Pets%20are%20welcome%20in%20Mesa,clean%20up%20your%20pet's%20poop. I'm not sure about local boarding kennels, we did not use a kennel for this area when we visited.
My 3 classmates had I had out 8 th grade graduation there. It’s still good but nothing like it us to be. They have destroyed the old museum because of woke political correctness.

@@TravelSzN welcome 🙏.. stay connected
Hello guys will meet you
Someday…thanks!
so is mess verde an out and back? like there’s no way to drive through the park you would have ti double back?
It looks like there is just the one entrance in an out of the national park. here is the park map : www.nps.gov/meve/planyourvisit/maps.htm
Gorgeous
How is this one of the most impressive archaeological sites in North America?
You can't go down into any buildings?
A great park and good recommendations. I’m gonna assume dogs are not allowed in the park? Do you know of dog boarding kennels in the area ?

About all you can do is take a tour. Don't forget your bud.🤣

No offense but this was very boring.
