    I’m almost done watching your video. And I will watch the whole thing really great video. I’m on my way to great Sand dunes at the moment. This was actually my first national park that I ever went to in 2016 when I started traveling about six years ago. I’m finally back and trying to make content for UA-cam so I’m super excited to be back with a little bit more of a purpose For video creation. The first time that I went I was actually just on my way to Yellowstone and that really is the only thing that was on my mind and I stopped at other national parks along the way. I’m super excited this time and again great job on the video I’m going to subscribe to your channel

    Visited the GSDNP several years ago...we'd heard about surfing so we brought our Snow Saucers...didn't work at all, need to get the boards and give them a good waxing. Then we got into a gully washer...pouring down rain...that river was just like the woman said, stretched from the Parking lot to out near the dunes...but it was not more than a foot deep and very easy to cross. We had the most fun hiking up the steep dunes and running down...all in all a very unique great NP.

    Dark sky location too, see the milky way! (which is the byline on their national park poster) Occasional talks on stars and stuff in the evening. Fun watching the sand do that hourglass thing. Also have eggs and green chilis (I think) at the Oasis for breakfast. good stuff.

    Hi. Great video. How far of walking from the parking lot to the sand. Thanks

    • @TravelSzN
      @TravelSzN  2 роки тому

      It varies all the time due to the winds continuously carrying the sand grains and depositing them in new places. Sometimes there is even a shallow creek flowing between the parking lot and dunes. For our visit in April 2021, it was about a dry 10 minute walk from the parking lot to the spot where we could dune-board.

    Have you been to the White Sand National Park in New Mexico and Death Valley Sand Dunes? I wonder which one is better. The White Sand in NM was really beautiful with white sand, this one looks muddy. Great video though, thanks!

    • @TravelSzN
      @TravelSzN  3 роки тому +1

      I have always wanted to go to White Sands (even before it became a National Park!) We were supposed to go last year but changed our plans due to house renovations and covid. I have not been to Death Valley either (that was also on our original planned trip for last year). Hoping to visit these parks in the next few years. If you want to visit one of these places in the summer months, I'd probably go with White Sands because it will be a little cooler than Death Valley. If you want to have a trip with lots of different hiking and driving viewpoints, Death Valley is a much larger park and there might be more things to do there. Hope that helps :)

    • @janjaylangelo4
      @janjaylangelo4 3 роки тому

      @@TravelSzN thanks for the reply. I have been to White Sand NP in NM. That is why I was wondering if this one in Colorado was worth seeing. Death Valley is one of my favorite, I should say is an all-in-one park because every point is different. Although I didn't get to see the sand dunes and the crater, plan to go back in the future. I visited in December, the weather was perfect. You will love it! Keep on the adventures and videos coming!

    • @TravelSzN
      @TravelSzN  3 роки тому

      @@janjaylangelo4 aw man that's awesome you have been to both of those! I'm sure I'll love them when I finally get to see them. Great Sand Dunes in CO was a smaller park with one main parking area to access the dunes, but you can also hike the surrounding mountains and raft on the creek in the summer months! I would recommend it to anyone that likes a variety of outdoor fun :)
