Mesa Verde ranks as one of the best National Parks that I’ve been to. It’s amazing there.

Visited this park last year, but it was a spur of the moment thing, so I waited too late to get in on any of the tours. But, from your video, it seems like it would be worth to go back for the tours. Plus, I really loved the park, so I would love to go back.

We loved the GuideAlong audios too. You can buy the whole western package or buy them piecemeal as needed & the vendor gives credit for single purchases against the purchase price for the entire package if you later decide to buy the whole package

LOVE THE RV! I like having four walls. You can’t beat a Mercedes and Winnebago combined!
What an awesome travel RV! Too bad I could not find photos of the INSIDE OF YOUR RV. It’s such a big help in bonding when in your minds eye, you can see where someone is living❤️

Hi, I visited this park last October. I was so blown away. I did hike up onto the big Mesa as you see when you drive in. Also near the campground had a general stores and a Cafe next to it. Those old boys make amazing pancakes. Definitely a park worth the visited. I was there 3 days.

Well done! Just curious - since y'all do so much in National Parks - wondered if you had ever had a discussion with a ranger or been questioned about a filming permit. From the National Park Service web site - "Federal law requires a permit for all commercial filming, no matter the size of the crew or the type of equipment. This includes individuals or small groups that don’t use much equipment, but generate revenue by posting footage on websites, such as UA-cam and TikTok. The primary focus of the NPS, however, is on commercial filming that has the potential to impact park resources and visitors beyond what occurs from normal visitor use of park areas. Examples of this type of filming are productions that use substantial equipment such as sets and lighting, productions with crews that exceed 5 people, and filming in closed areas, wilderness areas, or in locations that would create conflicts with other visitors or harm sensitive resources."
Are you hoping (like I am) that they lean more into the second part of that (commercial filming that has the potential to impact park resources) than the first part (no matter the size of the crew of the type of equipment) and leave us who just want to photograph and record and share the beauty of the parks alone.

Ron, thanks for watching, and here's some insight from our experience. Out of the 34 National Parks we filmed in during 2023, 30 required a permit for our activities. Typical application fee (there are no location fees for 1-2 people, camera and tripod) was $75. A handful were above $300. Each park has discretion to interpret the language (rule) you quoted above and also the underlying federal law (which was passed over 20 years ago). Hope that helps! - Howard

@@NewstateNomads Hey Howard - thanks for your prompt and informative reply, that is good to know going forward. Also (forgot to mention in my first post) thank you for taking the effort to get good audio, that is so often overlooked and it makes such a difference.

What happened to your National Park Foundation Special Edition Winnebago? It looks like you are using your old one and you aren’t saying that in your intro like you did in a bunch of previous ones. Did they take it away from you? Or did you just have the new one for a limited amount of time?

Cliff Palace and Balcony House are both on the same driving loop and only about 5 minutes apart from one another.
Just know all tours are reserved on recreation.gov two weeks in advance.

For Cliff Palace. Visitors are only walking right in front of the site and not going in it at all.
Balcony House, visitors are in the site. However rangers make it very very clear on where you can and cannot go and same with where you can stand/sit/lean.
