      It is. I had no idea it was Travis. After listening to that footage with quality headphones on if your ears can take it, There’s a round that sounds like counter sniper that could have been anyone of those guys including Travis. I believe it is at the 6:14-6:15 mark. I’m no expert sounds big heavy. 7.62x54 possibly, I’m no expert.

    The m16 with a full stock and guns like it (mk12, sdmr, sam-r) are the best looking ar15s ever, not to mention the softest shooting. Got me a mk12 from bcm. That print is amazing too!

    Travis,
    Thank you for sharing this very personal story. I've struggled with issues for a long time due to things that happened to me and my team in Iraq in the 2 years I spent there. I know its not easy to share these things especially on the Internet but thank you for sharing them in particular this story. You guys did an outstanding job that day based on the video that I saw and you saved lives. Thank you for what you do and for making great gear. On a side note, I run a D3 chest rig on a Mayflower plate carrier in my current job as a city police officer in Southern California and that set up is awesome! Thank you again for what you do. God Bless you and your family.

      @@tobiasreaper3650 James Yeager. He has a reputation for doing stupid, unsafe stuff (like having a photographer downrange while students are shooting targets).
      Also, his one combat experience was as a contractor in the middle east. His convoy got ambushed and he couldn't take his car out of park, which stranded them all in the killzone. Then he jumped out of it and into a ditch while the rest of his team was getting shot up and fighting the bad guys.

      @@McMeatBag I looked him up right after making the comment. The moment I saw him, I knew he was fake, he also seems like a complete tool. Didn't know his one combat experience was spent cowering in a ditch, the least you could do is radio in the situation and help your teammates find better cover. It's nice to know that someone like him got to do a job I'm trying to get into, but have to do it the hard and uncertain way because the military turned me down over simply having ADHD (I have experience in a different type of security which really helps, but isn't a golden ticket).

    I respect Travis for not getting all politically correct about or distancing himself from his comments in the heat of battle. There are a lot of wrongheaded ninnies out there who would find the turkey shoot comment offensive, but Travis's actions were honorable and he did nothing wrong to apologize for. He's really "keeping it real" with that footage and his comments about the battle.

    I wonder what Travis would use now if he had the fore site of this video back then .. I not having any combat experience , closest I got was pulling security in high risk drug areas lol . I can only guess as to what I would want and I’m that these guys had no clue if they were gonna have a long distance shootout or maybe some CQC ..
    Looking at it in the homesite . I think I’d have wanted something in a semi auto loader as he has with maybe a 308 win. And good glass to go with it. Maybe Night force. I like the M14 on the newer modular chassis that they are using. I don’t remember the company but it looks intimidating. Maybe those big rounds were too big and bulky. Maybe a 6.8 spc. Would have done the trick.
    One thing I’m surprised about is nobody had any mortar coming in or going out. At least it looks that way. Also very little to non existent air support.

      @nbates9893 8 років тому

      lmao tell them to research terminal ballistics. I'd much rather be shot by a 556 round out of a 9 inch barrel than a 20....velocity kills when it comes to 556

    • @pitbull82
      @pitbull82 8 років тому +1

      I have a 16, 20, and 10.3 inch SBR. With that said, the "Mk18" (10") is much easier to maneuver in tight spaces, lighter of course, and has enough energy at "eye color distance" to stop a threat. However, like 5.56 or 5.45 said, I'd much rather take a round from an SBR! High velocity rounds are nasty! I'd grab the 20" if shtf.

      I can't help but notice the hearing protection in the original video clips, have you ever considered a video about using hearing protection in an emergency situation? Obviously something like a CCW citizen, will not take time to put ear plugs in before shooting someone trying to carjack them with a weapon, but more so from a law enforcement, military perspective. In a firefight, active shooter, or some other situation along those lines. Plugs and muffs vs electronic hearing protection and what not. I just thought that may be an interesting topic.

    i have a 308 ar and i think i want that scope setup. 16in barrel. i love that 20in rifle setup as well but times and tactics have changed and i know i dont run my 5.56 rifle like that anymore. ill always love a 20in barrel and a2 stocked rifle. probably my favorite overall. i got rid of mine in favor of a colt 6920 which is great also but ive got irons on it and an aimpoint pro because i know i dont want to try to make it do as much distance as i could with a 20in barreled rifle. my other setup is another 16in carbine gas rifle, free floated with a bcm kmr, magpul acs stock, troy irons...i debate on scoping that one and putting my other aimpoint pro on the 308 ar. options, damn! my 308 ar is a bit of a pig though. i think i need to take the troy quad off of it and get one of these lighter midwest industries rails, but the troy rail is solid and hasnt failed me so maybe i should deal with the weight. i dont know.
    great video.
