Plautus Satire Everything you think you know about Blackwater comes from conspiracy websites and leftist propaganda. You obviously have never been to Blackwater nor do you know any of the men who have worked for it. If you did, you wouldn't be posting such ignorant tripe on the internet.

Blackwater/Academi is a Training Organization and PMC. 99% of what we hear about them is made up and pretty much nothing more than guesses made by people that don't get outside enough...

***** They were defending the local Coalition Provisional Authority compound in Najaf. It makes sense that some random civilian, most likely one of the CPA staff, would come up on the roof asking stupid questions after the firefight.

I'm scum for not remembering his name, but there was a Marine years ago featured in a documentary filmed and produced by Marine combat cameramen. He had caught a stray round in the arm and was PO'd they were forcing him to leave the line to be medivac'd and get treatment. He returned back to his unit on the line mere weeks later, as he wanted to do, and ended up KIA. While he was talking to the camera with the bullet in his arm and visibly/verbally upset about having to leave, he was colorfully giving his opinion on how he would receive a Purple Heart for something so "minor" when his friends had lost limbs and lives. He received his second and final PH after he was allowed to return to his brothers.

Pimpy Bojangles it sounds like stokes , they called him pathfinder he was featured on the history channel D-Day Fallujah in the second battle of Fallujah in 2004 But he was killed in Taqaddum in 2007. He was in a way very much like your typical Marine. The majority wanted to fight and stay with their brother. That is why they joined the Corp. The 1st marines were a hell of a force

Much respect for your Travis and thank you for your service not only as a military man but also your service to our community. One of The hardest things for a human being to do is admit there wrongs, so it takes one hell of a man to look back at something like this 10 years down the road and show you are still learning from it. Also thank you for sharing your story. Your honest words make it possible for us to see the true heros, harsh realities and what really goes on in a sitution like this.

I am only fifteen right now but one day I wish to be a part of special operations. I have always wondered about your background in the military and now that I know, I am thoroughly impressed. I found it very interesting to hear your thoughts on the actions of that day and where there were failures and what you learned from it. I hope the lessons were learned for the inevitable contact with the enemy after this battle. You got out alive and that's what counts. Well done. Thank you.

youtuber I was 12 years old when I saw it uploaded on UA-cam . As a child with an imagination, from the angle of the camera he reminded me of the actor (Stephen Baldwin )who played barney rubble in the flinstones shooting from a roof top and convinced myself it was in fact that actor. Up until this year (2018) I found out about haley and his company, later the same year I found out it was Haley on that roof top. Mind blown to say the least .Thank you for the combined experience and knowledge you share with the world .

Now to see that he’s a super competent individual of higher intelligence, it adds the shine back to Erik Princes Black Water who’s rep was marred shortly thereafter. Thank you for your service. Being a former marine and a firearm enthusiast, there's a few guys I follow on UA-cam, but you are the man, your approach to training is second to none, I was in the corp when we "sprayed and prayed" lol so I had a lot to catch up on when I started shooting again about 4-5 years ago, so your I guess I would say scientific approach has helped me grow as a shooter, plus I live in jersey so yes I do some training with some airsoft gbbr's so I really app the love you gave that! Lol but thanks for the vids you really have helped this old grunt out!!!

Right on, Travis. It isn't doing it perfect all the time, but recognizing those mistakes, learning from them and moving on. This is one of my favorite things about Travis Haley as an instructor. I can watch videos of him from years ago vs. now and there are differences in technique. Showing that he practices what he preaches and is never absolute. Always trying to learn and get better.

Travis, I wonder if you've ever realized that fighting with Honor spreads like an awesome epidemic. There's nothing like it. I've only heard it on other documentaries and from two friends in the USMC that Najaf became synonymous with stories about halting shooting during prayers and allowing freezes to let injured be carried out from the cemetary area, for example. You will always remember the fights in which morale was high because it wasn't death metal and psychoactive juice that kept spirits up...but each other...brotherhood. I'm a shiite and we prefer peace 11 times out of 10 because of our history as underdogs, recognizing that there's really enough to go around if we try. But, if there's a war and it is imposed on us, then we fight with honor and respect, till that last breath. With the likes of ISIS, we've seen what the opposite of that does - Social Darwinism of the darkest types. God bless us all. Let's hope we do the best we can with this short life we get.

Doing what counts at the right time allows you the luxury to participate in an AAR. Thanks for Travis and everyone who has served. From a Cold War Sgt.

I've seen the Blackwater clip a few times, but I never knew that was Travis what a trip. I think his honesty and attention to detail is to notch.

Thank you sir. Thank you for your service to our country while in the military and to this day. Men like you are the backbone that everything else we Americans believe is supported by. Without it we are limp fools trying to live a life of appeasement while our heartfelt truths are diminished in exchange for so-called freedom. Again. Thank you.

Holy crap. I never connected the dots before that it was Mr Haley in that footage - I downloaded the footage from a video site back in the summer of 2005 (not sure if it was UA-cam or Break or somewhere else), when it was first posted as videos of Blackwater teams in Najaf. There were three videos, one was more general Blackwater footage throughout Iraq set to an Aerosmith song, the other two were raw footage from Najaf, including the sniping from that compound shown in this video. Right on, brother. Thanks for the AAR.

It is interesting that when I first viewed the original video that the slant that was placed on it provided no background on the circumstances surrounding it. To the uninformed it was simply a ' Turkey Shoot'.
Thank you for taking the time to put it into context Travis.
